The "Fairweather Cottage" was originally built in 1909 on land that was purchased from the Banning Brothers in 1896. Property on the Island of Catalina can only be privately owned within the one mile square town of Avalon. This home is located in the "flat" section of Avalon, so you don't need to climb any hills or steps to get to the beach. Only 2 blocks to the water; you can get around easily and have access to all the resort town has to offer.
The cottage has been newly renovated to modern standards. New furniture, 32-inch flat screen TV above the fireplace. Brand new carpet and paint, new kitchen with modern appliances, large front deck with seating to enjoy meals and watch the beach parade pass by.

Why the Owner Chose Catalina Island, Avalon
We have loved Catalina since childhood visits with our scout troops. Most of my adult life we have spent vacations on the island and always dreamed of someday having a vintage home of our own. Our dream is to have generations of family meet here for holidays and family reunions.
The Unique Benefits of this Private Home
We take our morning coffee (hot tea for my husband) out onto the front porch. If we feel like meeting new friends, we keep the cabana curtains open. If we are sleepy, we close them.
