Jim and I love Mexico. My mom ran tours from Minnesota through Mexico and Central America for 20yrs. We hope to someday winter in Mx. After diving and touring most of the Caribbean we have found the best value to be the Cancun area. Cancun is really becoming an international community with lots of ammenities. Being able to recharge on the beach, swim in the ocean or enjoy dancing to a variety of bands make Isla our home away from home.
Why the Owner Chose Carisa y Palma
Cheap airfare, steady temps all year around, nice people, great international food and an American hospital...just in case. The Carisa y Palma is an ideal location, just a block walk from the resort is nightlife, restaurants and shopping. Our beach is white sugar sand. The pool is uncrowded. We play tennis on the grounds and love the convenience of a store on site. 2 BR, 2 BA condos are unheard of in this price and location. The balcony sold me.

Carisa balcony was fantastic for our schedule. The college kids stayed up all night and we never heard them. In the morning when they were heading to bed we were heading out for our walk, then to the beach, and then to sun on the balcony. Around 1:00 pm the balcony was in the shade and we had enough sun by then so it was book reading time. By early evening the hung-over students were heading back from the beach to sleep off their hangover for a few hours before they started again which made for a perfect early and quiet dinner time for us. The Chili's next to the Hard Rock has a great balcony also, and their prices were about 30% to 40% cheaper than the Hard Rock. We ended up walking the entire length of the Hotel Zone "7" over three days by taking the bus part way and walking part way. The ferry ride to Isla is worth every penny. I have never seen water so beautiful on the trip from Puerto Juarez! Dave & Barb

This is a 3 Star. Our unit is new inside(2006), many are not. There are nice stretches of sandy beach for 10 miles. I agree, units facing the street are noisy. Ours is so close to the ocean(see pics) that the surf is all you hear. I have found the management tries very hard to accomodate, just ask. As owners we are always available to improve your stay in any way possible. This resort is never crowded. Large beautiful pool. You'll never have to save a pool lounger with a towel early in the am.
