Rent these units individually or together for large groups. Brand new duplex with 2 rental units located next to, and overlooking, historic downtown Pagosa Springs. From the duplex, you'll have a 5 minute walk to all of the downtown amenities, including our world famous hot springs, the riverwalk along the San Juan River, shops, restaurants and bars.

Wolf Creek Skiing is just 13 miles east of downtown. National forests and wilderness surround the entire region. We're also well known for our fishing, hunting and whitewater rafting!

Both are passive solar, which means warm and cozy. The units are built very similarly with open and spacious floorplans and floor-to-ceiling windows with some of the best views around!

The upper unit is the larger of the two, has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a large open nook area, and 2 levels inside of it. The lower unit has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.

The upper unit has two private decks, and the lower unit has two private patios. Both units have streetside access since the duplex is built on a slight hill, giving the lower unit access from the front street and the upper unit access from the rear alley (used as streets in Pagosa).

    • Double Bed: The upper unit has two full futon beds -- one in a large, but open nook area and the second in the living room. The lower unit has one full futon bed in the living room.

    • Mountain View: This duplex sits adjacent to, and slightly above, the downtown area. Both units have floor-to-ceiling windows with fantastic views of the San Juan Mountains wrapping around the San Juan River Valley.
  • Other Amenities
    • Passive solar, warm and sunny! 5 minute walk to river, world famous hot springs, grocery and more! One duplex with 2 units, can be rented individually or together. Upper unit is the larger of the 2, and it sleeps 6-8. The lower unit sleeps 4-6. Rooms are big and could accommodate kids in sleeping bags on the carpeted bedroom floors. Both units may be booked for sleeping 12-14 people.
  • Suitability
    • Pet Friendly: Pets allowed upon approval and with a cleaning/damage fee beginning at $35 and up. The fee is based on your animal(s) behavior and damage done. As a minimum, $35 is charged to thoroughly clean and remove all hair. Damage (scratched doors and furniture, broken items) is charged at the actual cost to repair and fix to original condition. Home is not fenced, and local leash laws are enforced. You are responsible for your pet, physically and financially.

Why the Owner Chose Pagosa Springs

As a consulting engineer in this community, and internationally, I travel extensively. The pristine beauty of our San Juan mountains and rivers has few comparables. Further, our mountain town has successfully retained the feel of the unspoiled Rocky Mountain towns we knew years ago. The attributes of Pagosa Springs could fill volumes. We can enjoy the majority of the highest peaks and the largest wilderness areas in the U.S. And all at our doorstep. We have, I believe, the best hot springs (both primitive and commercialized) in the world. And finally, we are a meca for white water enthusiasts.

The Unique Benefits at this Vacation Rental

Staying in our historic "down" town area allows our visitors to enjoy and experience the old ski resort feeling from Colorado's past. There are not acres of condos and townhomes to blot out the beauty of our downtown mountain views, rivers or streams. There is no need to drive anywhere as the best restaurants, bars, shopping and even our hot springs are only a short stroll on the river walk from our sunny passive solar vacation homes finished in 2008. Since our homes are passive solar they are not only very light and warm (you will have to open windows in mid-winter!), but also provide spectacular views of the downtown, the Continental Divide, and the hot springs.

I've been fortunate to call Pagosa Springs my home for 35 years. I travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, proliferating my environmental and humanitarian construction materials and methods. My proprietary construction methods provide the ability to construct homes in a fraction of the time required by traditional construction methods. Further, these homes are approximately four times (400%) more energy efficient than conventional wood frame construction. Finally, these homes are permanent; not subject to destruction by fire, earthquake, hurricane, rot, flood, termites, etc. The materials utilized are indigenous, locally available, and typically freely obtainable.
