Traverse City's best kept secret! Enjoy spectacular views and unlimited water activities on this spring fed 500 acre all-sports lake. This newly remodeled cabin with all new appliances is a great getaway. The loft area has an outside access with a sectional coach in one room and 6 twin beds in the next room which makes it a perfect place for children to play. There is plenty of room available to park your boat or snowmobile trailer.

Summer water temps reach into the 80's, making it swimable from May through September. There is 80 feet of nice sandy beach, with sloped access that is ideal for young children. The cabin comes with a row boat(motor available for rent). A pontoon boat is also available for rent. The fire pit at the waters edge is wonderful for late night chats and roasting marshmallows. Wake up in the morning to the sounds of the Loon while relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake.

Spider Lake also has a public boat launch and 3 islands open to the public. At dusk, fishing boats from all over load in to angle bass, bluegill, perch and recently planted northern pike!

First of all when the description says "The loft area has an outside access" it really means it only has outside access. The only way to the loft was to go outside across the deck and up external stairs to the loft. I didn't think to ask... is there an internal entrance to the loft? Who would think to ask this question??? I should also mention that if you were over 5ft tall you can’t stand in the ‘loft’ and you couldn’t play games on the ‘loft’ TV because it didn’t have any ports to plug stuff into. Next, when the descriptions says "There is 80 feet of nice sandy beach, with sloped access that is ideal for young children", I guess technically from the beach into the water was sloped and good for young children, HOWEVER to get from the cabin to the beach you have to go down a lot (at least 66 that I counted) of dilapidated steps. These were not 'ideal' for young children; my 4 yr old couldn't go without holding someone's hand because she was slipping all over the place. So there was no way my 18m old could make it, so he was carried every time. Also, when the description says "the deck overlooking the lake" -- you can't really see much of the lake from the deck, I could make out there was some water down there through the trees, but wouldn't say I could really see it from the deck. Other than the first two 'eye openers' the place wasn't too bad –but it was run down. The gas grill worked, but it took 30 minutes to cook hot dogs, HOT DOGS!!! There was a hornets nest which we notified the guy about on the 2nd day and he said he’d take it down…It was still there when we left. I'm not planning to stay there ever again.
