Just right for our vacation and wedding

We stayed here for two weeks, and had a wedding in the middle of the stay. There are too many positive things to say in this review not only about the property itself, but also the owner, Kathy, and her property manager Debbie. They were incredibly excited that we wanted to have our wedding on their property and made the planning incredibly easy for us. We really appreciated how involved Kathy was to make sure our special day went off without a hitch. All of our wedding guests commented on how beautiful the property was. The property itself was just what we were looking for. It has a very private beach area (make sure you bring beach shoes, the zebra mussels are everywhere) as well as a cove that was perfect for launching our kayak. The kids (ages 6 and 7) always had something fun to do, and the adults enjoyed the quiet beach, lovely bike rides along the west coast of the island, and beautiful sunsets. We rented both the old house and the annex because we had the in-laws staying with us and were very happy with both. The accommodations are not fancy (but then we didn't want fancy) and everything in the houses were in good working condition. We would strongly recommend a stay here to anyone with a desire for a tranquil, easy stay on beautiful Isle La Motte.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What an amazing experience. We enjoyed every moment. Stayed here (2 adultes and 5 children) very very comfortably. Kathy is a great person and the communication and details of the home were as described. The view is exceptional and the swimming is great. We all had a wonderful time. Would recommend to anyone and would greatly enjoy a return visit. :) Incroyable! :)Did you find this review helpful? Isle La Motte is a fabulous place, quiet and really relaxing. This cottage (Annex) is very well situated on a peninsula and has a private beach that has really made us happy. The sunsets are beautiful and the place is bathed in an apparent serenity. We are a family of 5 including 3 children 5, 5 and 7 years and must say that my children have greatly enjoyed the stay. The beach is safe and the water temperature was very nice. The chalet is well furnished and has everything you need. Also, I mentioned that communication with the owner (Kathy) has been very positive. In short, we spent a weekend we will remember for long.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I, including a 6 year old and 4 year old, spent a wonderful week at the Annex. The house is good for relaxing with the second floor deck and waterfront location. Our kids loved the shallow swimming beach and we liked being on a very quiet, rural road for family biking. The Champlain Islands are just beautiful and offer family farms, pretty lake topography, and some tasty local produce (fruits, meat and cheese). Some of the late summer sunsets were just beautiful. My family and I will be going back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

We've stayed at this cottage twice now and it was truly wonderful! Private beach steps away was perfect for the kids and 270 degree views of the lake from the deck. We love biking and kayaking and Isle La Motte was ideal for both - quiet, scenic biking on the west shore. The cottage was as advertized - clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a week. Great Italian restaurant on the east shore, pricey general store but it had what we needed. Sunsets better than any we've seen anywhere!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Rock beaches facing west and north give day long sun exposure. No adjoining neighbours, large lawn, gently sloping beaches, old house with character and newer annex with lots of natural light. Road traffic minimal, great island cycling. Fishing, sailing, swimming, boating, water skiing or just plain relaxation are all on the agenda for either families or romantics who love campfires, the sound of nature's serenade, and fabulous sunsets all in a beautiful lake setting. Bring your boat and leave your cellphone and troubles at home. Have loved it since the first stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

The location for this property was exceptional. The water was perfect. Although a little rocky (no problem with water shoes), the shoreline was a nice shallow, sloping beachfront and was a great place for fires at night.Great for motorboats and conoeing and kayaking alike. We went for walks everyday down the road overlooking the lake and had several conversations with all the friendly folks we ran into. A great place for walking, biking, rollerblading, etc. The only downside was the weather. We had to sneak in time on the water between rain and thunderstorms.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We were shocked to find the property in such poor condition - and did not stay as planned. Garbage left in the house, no screens on the windows (with no A/C), spiderwebs throughout the house and wasps upstairs. This home appeared to be abandoned months ago and opened up when we arrived!!! I can not believe property agent claims to MANAGE this property - she took no responsibility.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 10/13
