If you're looking for a crowded lake with noisy neighbors, this isn't for you. Welcome to the Knutson Family Lakeshore Cabin, LLC.
The 3,600 square foot log home that was built in 1934, which has been restored, is located on the shore of Butternut Lake. You will marvel at the expanse of wooded scenery. As soon as you drive down the long winding driveway, you'll probably start to feel the stress of the city melt the moment you step foot in the cabin.
This well-preserved 2 story log home was built in 1934 by two lumberjacks. It has 1,200 feet of lake frontage on a 5 acre parcel of land surrounded by lake, woods, peace and quiet.
A bald eagle nests in a tall pine tree on the property near the lake. As you have your morning coffee on the dock, she will be about 80 yards to your left watching over you. If you're lucky you will see her out flying about with her young one.
If you are looking for a nice sugar sand beach for small childern to build sandcastles in, I don't want to dissapoint you but this is not for you. We brought our kids here for more than 15 years every Summer weekend. They swam off the dock and and did alot of other water activities.
As you move out from shore the water gradually gets deeper. It is about 4 1/2 feet deep at the end of the dock. 20 feet out from the end of the dock it starts to drop off faster. Not only is this good for swimming but great for throwing out a floating jig and draging it along the bottom for the walley's. Do this about the time the sun is setting on the tops of the trees across the lake. I'd fish for about 2 hours after that and you should drag in some keepers.

- Deck/Patio : This a great place to sit and have your coffee in the morning and watch the sunsets in the evening.
- View/Location
- Beachfront : The property has has a nice beach area, but not sandy. The beach area has small smooth stones for the first 20 feet from shore then it is a clay sandy bottom. The water depth is a nice gradual slope from the shore. About 30 from shore the it drops off quickly to about a 12 foot depth. This is also a great spot to drop a line about 7 PM and catch a couple of walleye.
- Lakefront : This property is located on the peninsula of the lake. You have 1,200 feet of lake frontage on a 5 acre parcel of land. The closest neighbor is 1/4 mile away. We have privacy. The water is about 50 feet from the cabin to the lake shore with 5 small steps down to the water's edge. The shore line is a gradual slope. You can walk out about 40 to 50 feet before it starts to drop off quickly. The first 20 feet has a limited number of lilly pads, after that it is a sandy clay bottom, great for swimming. The eagles nest in a tall pine tree on the point of our property.

- Telephone : You can receive incoming calls and you will need a calling card to make long distant calls. All local calls are available.
- Other Amenities
- This well preserved log home was built in 1934 by two lumberjacks. The property has no neighbors that are in sight of the property. You have 5 acres to explore and a 1/2 mile private lane that you can take you long quiet walks. If you are looking for a busy and hectic resort area, we are not it.
- Suitability
- No Pets Allowed : Please do not ask. No pets. If you try to sneak in pets, no damage deposit will be returned to you you will be in violation of the rental agreement and the police will be called to evict you.
- Kid Friendly : We have volleyball, basketball, canoe, paddle boat, row boat, and swimming. The best part of this property is: no neighbors for 1/4 mile, long walks down the 1/2 mile wooded lane, watching the Eagles on the point, listening to the loons in the evening.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : 21 -- The caretaker checks on the renters every so often. If the renters are abusing the property or activities that are not legal, he has the authority to call the police and eject the renters. No damage deposit will be returned.

Peak Season Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Peak Season .. $300/night .. $800/weekend .. $1850/week.
Off Season ... $250/night .. $600/weekend .. $1500/week.
Peak Season we only rent from Staurday to Saturday
If we have openings we will rent day by day-3 weeks prior to that date.
Memorial Day, Labor Day Weekend and New Years $1200 (Fri, Sat, and Sun )or 3 days
All other weekends are a Friday night and a Saturday night.
