Location: McKenzie River, Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA (Just minutes from Tokatee Golf Course, 30 minutes to HooDoo)
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 3 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)
Get ready for some unforgetable family memories in this beautiful McKenzie River-front home. Three large bedrooms (one with a king size bed and the other two with queens-- plus an inflatable queen in the den) along with 3 full baths make this the perfect choice for your next family get together or extended summer getaway. There is a huge deck overlooking at least half a mile of the pristine McKenzie River. Enjoy the indoor fireplace in the winter and the outdoor fireplace in the summer (pending any applicable restrictions at the time). The large kitchen and dining areas make it easy to prepare and serve your group needs, but the setting is also ideal for a romantic retreat.
There is a covered place to park a boat or RV in addition to the ample driveway and two car garage. There are several flowering plants and trees on the property including several colors of rhodedendrons and a holly tree. The tremendous cedars and douglas firs tower over this 2000 sq. ft. home and the moving water carries with it a soothing tranquility you'll want to come back to over and over again.
Only about 40 minutes east of Springfeild and a short half hour to HooDoo Ski Bowl. Within 5 minutes of Tokatee Golf Course or Belknap Springs and only 15 minutes from Cougar Reservoir. The McKenzie River Trail starts right here in McKenzie Bridge just across and up the river a short distance. Mountain Bikers or hikers paradise as well as some of the finest flyfishing atmosphere in the northwest. Watch the Salmon spawn right from the back door every fall or spot elk and deer all over the countryside year-round.
There is excellent fishing everywhere and you'll never run out of new discoveries as you explore the upper McKenzie Valley. White-water rafting and kayaking are very popular on the McKenzie and river guides are available for the fisherman. Several famous trailheads are within just a few minutes, but you can also just take wonderful walks into the surrounding foothills by walking just up the street in front of the home.
The Springs bring the flowers, the summers offer endless perfect days, and the falls bring colors unheard of, but the winters are the favorite for the skier. HooDoo ski bowl offers both night and day sking, a great tubing park, and several miles of crosscountry trails. The surrounding area snow-parks give you several otions for releasing the snowmobiles and the old pass 242 is restricted to snowmobile and hiking/skiing taffic all winter. 242 is a fantastic bicycling route in the summer.
Basically, there are endless activities and recreational opportunities all around and year-round-- even if all you're looking for is to disappear for a while and relax.
This is our dream home and we can't wait to live here full-time. Until then, we'll share it with you. We are sure that you'll fall in love with the home and the setting just like we did. Advanced notice is recommended.
