  My wife and I have been visting the Fairhope/Point Clear area for over 20 years and we have finally found the perfect place to stay for just the two of us. We spent a long weekend at Surprise Landing and fell in love with this beautiful, comfortable and well equipped cottage. The grounds around the cottage are beautiful and the pier and boathouse are the perfect place to watch the beautiful Mobile Bay sunsets. Our hosts, the property owners, could not have been more welcoming - helping us unload late on a rainy evening. There was even a bottle of wine and home made cheese straws on the table. This is southern hospitality at its very best and we will be back.

  Excellent place to stay, very comfortable, quiet, well equipped and maintained. We have visited twice and would choose this cottage again on our return to Fairhope. I would recommend to a friend or relative.

  Staying at Surprise Landing is southern hospitality at its best. The cottage is located down a shady lane behind the main house on the property. A short path leads to a marvelous dock that is made for lounging over the water and watching the sun set. The cottage itself has the newest appliances and quality furnishings. The hosts are very accommodating and have thought of everything!. The cottage has so many nice touches that satisfy every need. The cottage is in a quiet, genteel area that is made for relaxation and refreshment. A short drive or walk can take one to either the Grand Hotel or the town of Fairhope. Fairhope is an attraction in itself with oak shaded streets full of interesting architecture and gardens. The town has interesting shops, a beautiful public wharf, and fine eateries. Clearly the area inspires the artist in people. Short drives take visitors to great seafood restaurants, farm markets, pecan groves, and stunning natural areas. A 45 minute trip leads to mall shopping or the white sands of the Gulf. The attractions of Mobile are only slightly farther afield. We have been visiting the area with our family for twenty years and this is one of the finest places we have stayed.

  We so enjoyed our stay at Surprise Landing and this was our third stay. It is exceptionally cozy and clean and the owners are very personable. The cooking facilities are very good also. The town is delightful for a walk around. It is a very quiet area and right on Mobile Bay so we had a great time strolling along the water's edge. The owners were so helpful and showed us a delightful walk from their house along the water's edge. We would highly recommend Surprise Landing especially for couples.

  I stayed here in June, 2011. I found the cottage wanting for nothing. It truly was a home away from home, minus the distractions of feeling like there were chores, errands or tasks that I needed to complete. It was as relaxing as I could ask for and within a nice walk to the municipal pier with shops and restaurants along the walk. The location allowed me to make a day trip to Pensacola or Mobile. Not only would I highly recommend the cottage, I am hoping to return. The hosts were wonderful, communicating quickly and thouroughly. My deposit was home before I was. The price was very reasonable. The people I met in Fairhope were extremely friendly and helpful. The town was a great place to stroll, dine and shop. Don't miss the museum and the bookstore Page and Palette. I've decided I was born on the wrong side of the country and wish retirement was sooner.

OUR MINIMUM STAY IS TWO NIGHTS at $150 per night or $300. ADD A THIRD
NIGHT FOR HALF PRICE OR $75, making the rental rate for a three-night stay,$375.
REDUCED DAILY RATES APPLY FOR LONGER STAYS. One week is $675, two weeks,$1,100,
three weeks,$1,475,and one month,$1,800. PLUS SIX PERCENT LODGING TAX.
CLEANING FEE: Minimum fee is $50 for up to a week’s stay.  For extended 
stays, cleaning is weekly.  Cleaning for up to two weeks is $75, for up to three 
weeks is $100 and for a month is $125.  A fully refundable $200 deposit is 
required when booking, and we accept payment by either cash or check.
