  We had a great, relaxing stay at this lake house. It was clean, reasonably priced, and pet-friendly which sealed the deal for us. We didn't stray too far from the house so the deck overlooking the lake and the kayaks made it a perfect way to spend the day.

  We had a great time here. We had 4 senior citizens, 2 infants and 2 adults in our group and there was something for everyone to do here. The area is really nice for taking long walks/running, the neighbors are very friendly and my son had a great time playing with their daughter, the kayaks are great for getting a workout, meals were a lot of fun on the deck and the house was pretty clean and comfortable. All in all this is a complete package for a nice family vacation. Highly recommend.

  Thank you for sharing your lovely lake home with our family! We really enjoyed the kayaks and fishing; along with the quietness of the area. The house, itself, is well maintained and was perfect for our group in both size (6 of us and a pup) and creature comforts (dvds, games, books, plenty of room to 'chillax'). The kids loved their own living room. The area surrounding the home is gorgeous--nature at her best! I would definitely recommend your property to anyone looking for the best of Washington County. Now, about the alleged 3 to 4-foot pikes in the lake--I have a feeling I'll be back to find them! :)

  This lakehouse is a great get-away. The owners really make it feel like home. We felt at ease while we were there since we had the caretaker's phone number, should any problems arise. Otherwise, we were left completely alone and could actually feel that the house belonged to us -- for the week at least. The scenery is fantastic. Neightbors are friendly. Lots of activities available on the lake. If you can tear yourself away from the lake, there are many towns and places close by to visit, since this house is very centrally located. If you just want to stay "home" the house has TV, books, DVD's, games etc. for those rainy or quiet days. The property was clean, well-maintained and as-described. The owner was thoughtful and quick to respond to questions. Our stay at the lakehouse truly enabled us to leave our cares and worries behind. We couldn't ask for much more!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

  This was a truly delightful trip. The cottage is just perfect and we wanted for nothing. The breath-taking view of the lake greeted us every morning. We did pry ourselves away for a trip to Lake George...what fun! Thank you!

  The cottage was great! We had beautiful weather all weekend and got to enjoy the kayaks and water tubes. We had fires at night and enjoyed games, eating, and just being together. It was a great time and a very peaceful place. Thank you - we hope to come again someday!

  We had a great time, boating and eating and relaxing. The kids loved running up and down the dock and throwing rocks in the water. It's beautiful up here and we hope to visit this area again soon!

  We had an excellent time. My son lives nearby and we had our two grandkids over for boating and cookout, they took us on a river canoe ride down the Batten Kill which is only 15 min away..a real treat. We had several ice cream treats at The Ice Cream Man.....great. It only rained at night during our week. We will come again. Got local paper every morning at 7AM at the little store.

  We have been eating VT cheddar and local NY veggies all week on your lovely deck. We have been having great weather, no rain and no A/C needed. I have fished 30 minutes daily at prime times with success. We traveled to Saratoga a few times. It's a nice ride with the grocery store on the route. We made a day trip to Shelburne Museum (90 miles away in VT). This museum is great! The outdoor/indoor porches are great places to hang in the evening. The stereo was set on a great radio station. We really enjoyed our stay!

  We had a great week here at the lake. Our three young boys had lots of fun fishing, hiking (Carter's Pond Nature Trail A+ for the kids), boating and of course, swimming. They even made a friend next door! Our oldest is already asking when we are coming back. Thanks for everything!

  We were greeted by a family of ducks on Saturday, entertained friends from Albany on Sunday (the paella was fab!), drove to Saratoga on Monday, played every game in the house on Tuesday as it poured all day, went back to Saratoga on Wednesday (MUST do the Farmers Market Wed 3-5 or Sat 9-1), toured Greenwich and the Farmers Market on Thursday and on Friday, we played mini golf, ate leftovers, enjoyed a sunny day and lamented at how quickly the week went. In between, we kayaked, biked, walked, ate, enjoyed the local brews (try Brown's Oatmeal Stout), watched a seaplane take off and land, and I think we saw an eagle - WOW! Great week! Great place!

  My family and I were very pleased with the cottage & all its amenities. My 19 year old son especially liked the large bedroom off of the kitchen, which was almost like a mini-apartment. Loved kayaking on the lake, both in the tandem & the single, which is my favorite way of exploring the area. The cottage was immaculately clean & comfortable & the decks were great places to hang out, both by the house & down at the water. This was the first time (in many years of various rentals) that the owner called to make sure we were okay--nice touch! The cottage had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Easy walk to the country store for the morning newspaper & a 40 minute drive to Saratoga Springs for shopping or dining (the Farmer's Market is a gem & for bibliophiles, the Lyrical Ballad on Phila Street is terrific). It was just short of "excellent" for us because we didn't swim at all.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  The adults reminisced on the porch while the children slept soundly...a wonderful refuge for us over the course of a weekend wedding in VT. We are leaving with smiles remembering the reflection of yellow, red and orange on the water and the calm. Many thanks!

  We had a great time here - the weather was amazing which provided the chance to canoe/fish/swim daily. The house had everything that you could want including movies and many games. It was a great place to vacation with children (including an infant)- everyone felt very safe. It was also refreshing to be able to taste fresh vegetables and fruit from local farms!

  Becky & Chris, What a glorious week! The weather was perfect and the quiet was exactly what I needed. My husband and I enjoued a lovely weekend together - then he headed back to work - as did my boys - so I had a peaceful retreat of my own! Biked, walked, kayaked, read, wrote - all the things I love to do with no stresses from daily life! Good restaurant in Schuylerville - Amigos - nice atmosphere and great food! Thanks again!

  This was a fabulous place to stay. The surroundings were beautiful. The home was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The towels and linens were in better shape then the ones I have at home! The people in the area were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall - a wonderful, relaxing experience.

  My family had a fabulous time! We really enjoyed your lovely home and the area. Most of the week was spent at the house and on the lake. We did get into Lake George one day for pizza. Another afternoon we spent in Saratoga Springs for lunch at a great Italian restaurant. The kids did a 3-hour float down the lake one day. Just a very fun and relaxing time.

  the cottage and the entire week was wonderful!!!!! we loved just hanging out and fishing or kayaking around. ya'll having 2 kayaks was an extra bonus. what fun. we caught plenty of fish- enough for a great griiled fish dinner one night and a fried fish breakfast another morning. what could be better. the next door neighbors were very kind and friendly. they made us feel quite welcome. the cottage itself worked perfectly for us. it was well stocked and well laid out. it was even great not having much cell service. it meant the older kids were not running off every 5 minutes to talk on their phones. even with the limited phones, they also said that they would come again next year. that's quite a feat!! we managed to get out and about also. we spent an afternoon at the saratoga race track. we went boating and horseback riding at lake george. went to a rodeo at lake lucerne and went to tanglewood for a concert(boston symphony) that first sunday. and then hit jacobs pillow for dance(modern ballet) on the way home sat night. i couldn't have asked for a more relaxing week with plenty of family bonding time. thank you so much for sharing your lovely cottage!!!

  Thank you so much for this experience! The cottage is cozy and homey. The water was so much fun, and the lake and mountains beautiful! The children so loved the tubes and kayaks. The neighbors are kind, too. This place is wonderful and so unlike many of the cottages we've known. This is a vacation we will never forget. We really needed it and we feel like we were revived here - our energy restored!
