Kauai in November

My boyfriend and I spent 1 week in November in this beautiful Hanalei home. It was clean, modern, and fully equipped for all of our needs. It didn't have surfboard or bikes, but rentals, including restaurants and stores are all within walking distance. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and very resourceful. Our vacation was romantic and felt way too short!

I want to start off by saying that I'm a concierge for a luxury condo property on Maui and fully understand hospitality, housekeeping, maintenance and concierge standards. When I travel I have high expectations and the owner of this house exceeded all of them!!! It was very easy to communicate with Danny and before arrival he provided me with helpful information about the home, Hanalei town restaurants, shopping, sightseeing etc. When we arrived at the home it was very clean with high end appliances, nicely decorated and everything was working properly. The beds were comfortable and with the windows open/fans running we slept well. We love Hanalei and attended a local May Day festival on the beach, dinner out at several delicious restaurants and walked through the amazing farmers market on Saturday morning. The house is within walking distance of the beach and town. On our last night, a bad rain storm passed through Kauai and a rare thing occurred- the road out of Hanalei was closed due to flooding and we missed our flight home! The locals said they rarely see this happen so we were in a strange predicament. Luckily, Danny came to our rescue and was immediately helpful in allowing us to spend another night in the home. He even contacted me the next morning to check on us! Without further delay, the road opened that morning and we were able to catch our flight home. The rain was actually a blessing because the waterfalls we viewed coming down the mountains were absolutely stunning and showcased the true Kauai! Also, it forced us to have some good old fashioned bonding time in the home playing cards, monopoly and other board games we found in the coffee table! It's a trip my family will never forget and the home made it even more memorable. Restaurant Reviews: -Bar Acuda had great food and was excellent for my foodie husband. However, it is one of those trendy places that plays very loud music and it's hard to have a conversation unless you eat out on the lanai. -Hanalei Gourmet was excellent and great service! Very good salads. -The Hanalei Dolphin- it was just "ok" -Hanalei Wake Up Cafe- hole in the wall atmosphere with great breakfast food. The traditional custard french toast was yummy! My husband also went to a yoga session at Hanalei Yoga and it was great. The only negative thing I could possibly say about the property is that you need to go up a staircase to enter the home. Could be a problem for handicapped or elderly.

My husband and I stayed here last week (March 2011) and loved it! The place looks just like the photos. It is clean, close to the beach & town, has everything you need. Danny was helpful and always willing to answer any questions. I would highly recommend staying here. We were sad to leave!! It is a beautiful house and town!

Hanalei is the best and this is a good house to enjoy it in. No tourist hustle or hassle. The house is clean, kitchen is very well-equipped and good sized and bedrooms are large. Nice decks although (and this is my one complaint) there was no furniture on them so you couldn't sit outside and enjoy the air. Beach is a five minute walk and a fine beach it is. You can walk into town, but it's a short hike. We loved being in the less developed north. It was hard to leave. Owner was friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stayed at this property in May 2010. The home is immaculate and close to everything in Hanalei. We were able to walk to the beach every day and ride bikes we rented into town. Danny was so gracious and provided an amazing home for us to spend our "third honeymoon" in. The kitchen is large and the two master bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious well decorated. This home to us represented everything we love about Kauai. We can't wait to come back! Thank you so much Danny!
