Le Marin is a pretty house set on the outskirts of Bellegarde du Razes village, with stunning views overlooking the surrounding vineyards and sunflower fields.
The house has exposed timber ceilings, terracotta tiled floors and terraces front and back for a shady place to sit. Relax by the pool, sit under the shade of the parasol or cook up a tasty meal on the BBQ.
The house has a cool and spacious living room and eating area, with a wood burning stove for the winter months. There is a very well equipped kitchen, three bedrooms - one with it's own private roof terrace. There are shady terraces for alfresco eating, a large garden and 12m x 5m pool with beautiful views.
The village is a peaceful medieval 'circulade', once besieged by Simon de Montfort during the time of the Cathars. From the village you can enjoy walking or cycling along the many tracks that take you through the gentle, rolling countryside and leafy vineyards.
The nearby village of Belveze du Razes has a full range of local amenities and Mirepoix, with it's medieval square hosts a typical French market.
From Bellegarde, there is so much to see and do, whether it be Carcassonne and it's wonderful 'cite', the tranquil Canal du Midi, taking a trip to the Mediterranean coast, exploring the ancient castles or playing a round of golf at the nearby course.
The region is famous for its sparkling white wine, Blanquette de Limoux and Domaines and caves are always happy to offer wine tasting.
The nearby Pyrenees provide skiing in the winter or walking and hiking during the summer through hidden valley's and along the many trails.
Other activities include white water rafting, canoeing, horseback riding and go-karting, all within easy reach from the house.
Toulouse, Perpignan and Montpellier provide an opportunity to discover what the larger cities and towns have to offer and a trip to Spain can be as little as a hour away. |
