Once home to fitness pioneer Jack La Lanne, 'Tres Palmas' stands out as a prime example of resort home living in an area of Palm Springs renowned for its Mid Century Modern architecture.
The butterfly roofline Alexander-style home was designed by Wexler Harrison, one of the pre-eminent design firms of the period. Tres Palmas has a clean, modern street façade screens a very private large lot perfect for enjoying the extraordinary Palm Springs climate.
The house is featured on the Dwell Magazine web site and was one of the properties showcased for tours during the magazine's 2006 Mid Century Modern conference in Palm Springs.
This stylish desert retreat resort home is situated on a 1/3 acre site with dramatic mountain views to the west. The lushly landscaped lot accommodates a variety of activity areas — have a dip in the large saltwater pool, lounge in the spa, or take some sun on the double chaise lounges.
Play croquet on the lawn, or just lie in the hammock. Enjoy a barbeque at the outdoor dining terrace, or a drink next to one of the two fire pit conversation areas. There are a number of fruit and citrus trees on the property for guests to enjoy fresh fruit in season.
The three bedrooms all have sliding door access to the terraces. At the Master bedroom, the en suite bath has a door leading directly to the pool deck.
The newly remodeled stainless steel kitchen has a professional style range. The layout and equipment will please the chef of the group.
This Palm Springs resort home is furnished to reflect the modern architecture, with many pieces from Eames, George Nelson, Mies Van de Rohe are mixed with more contemporary pieces to provide a relaxed comfortable resort atmosphere.
The house also features wireless internet throughout, as well as two flat screen televisions and a stereo system.
A short drive to the attractions of downtown Palm Springs, the home is also just up the road from Knotts Soak City, if you would like some additional excitement in your aquatic experience.

What a wonderful week at Tres Palmas ! The house was layed out nicely and was a perfect home for our little dogs. They thought they had died and gone to heaven after leaving the front our wood stove here in Oregon and just being able to wander around the walled yard in the sun. The yard was beautiful ! The salt water pool I questioned was perfect and your skin felt great ! It is a saline and all should be that way. The teen age girls were loving the oversized padded lounges by the pool, my 90 yr. old mother could get out of the sun on the other side of the house when it got too warm and a nice breeze seemed to always flow through there. We trailered our Harley down and it way easy in and out to the freeway and main streets from there. All ages and we all enjoyed it. The street fair on Thursday night and the fair at the College of the Desert are a must. Lots to see and do ! You must enjoy airplanes though as it is right next to the airport. My mother and sister are and were pilots so we really enjoyed them. They can get loud in the day but didn't hear anything at night.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family and friends enjoyed this home, pool and clean surroundings. The 25ft. lemon tree was great for fresh lemonaid and lemon drops. The Jack LeLanne juicer was awesome and my husbands favorite tool. The layout of the house was great for teenagers. We all enjoyed smores by the fire, hammock naps and croquet on the lawn. It was a great location for the waterpark and downtown. Remember to ask the rental company for discount coupons, we saved $10 a person. We had a great time and would definately stay with HomeAway again. Be sure and try Tylers hamburgers and Sherman's deli while you are there.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers.

This is a great property for enjoying life together with loved ones. A beautiful place to soak up sun, play croquet, swim, hot tub, watch videos in the evening and cook. We enjoyed driving to locations for hiking, shopping and city walks in Palm Springs (cafes, bars, galleries). We spent one month at Tres Palmas; even had our Irish terrier with us. We especially enjoyed the design of the property (home and grounds), with the beautiful and large pool, doggie friendly areas, hot tub, fantastically equipped kitchen and comfortable bed and common areas. The location is in a neighborhood with some families, as well other mid-century classic homes - some with gorgeous grounds, and others in need of repair. Nevertheless, a good place to walk with the dog. "Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Amazing Digs! "We arrived Friday morning, went to the store to stock up on food and didn't leave once until Monday. It was the ultimate sun and fun relaxing weekend. The saline pool was amazing, as was the croquet court. The loungers were large, comfy and mostly protected from the sun.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

my family went there from 10.31 - 11.2. it was a nice place to stay. BUT, we were disappointed overall because Jacuzzi was not working, Refrigerator was not working well and Some light bulbs were gone. we called manager to fix the jaccuzzi on sat. but they told us that they couldn't fix it becuase it was sat. also they said that we only paid for hitting swimming so we could not complain about it. all they did for us was just 1 hour late check out which is 11 a.m. It is their duty to check that everything is working before vistors come. But they did not and they were not sorry for that. THEREFORE, you need to RECHECK everything with owner or manager if you want to stay here.Owner response: I am glad you enjoyed the property. Our Management Company, Vacation Palm Springs, indicated that they were contacted late on Saturday regarding the jacuzzi, and as you were leaving Sunday morning, there obviously was not sufficient time to address the problem that quickly on a weekend. There was a supply of lightbulbs to replace the two lights at the breakfast bar, when they went out you could have replaced them, or asked for VPS to help you - which you chose not to do. I changed the bulbs Sunday afternoon when I arrived. The refrigerator was turned to the warmest setting when I arrived. I turned it up to the regular setting and had no problems for the week. I would suggest if you need help with the light bulbs, or are unfamiliar with adjusting the cold setting on the refrigerator, you mention it to the Manager in the future.
