"Bea's Nest"
Incredible Ocean Views ~ Steps to the Beach
6 bedrooms / 4 baths
Main House has 4 bedrooms with loft and sleeper sofa - sleeps 8-10. Carriage house has 2 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa - sleeps additional 5-6.
Our beautiful cottage is among the most beloved houses on the island. We are 2 blocks from town shops and ice cream...and our beach at 8th Street has some of the best surfing and swimming on the island - just steps away. Golf, surf, fish, boat, tennis, cycling, running, shelling, awesome sunsets and lots of relaxing are all here on Isle of Palms. Bea's Nest was totally restored in 2007/2008. Bright and sunny; sky-blue ceilings, white wood walls and floors, and furnishings which are a colorful mix of contemporary and antique. Once inside, you'll be charmed by the character of this island gem.
The kitchen is well-equipped and spacious with a dining area and breakfast bar. Commercial-grade appliances abound, including a glass-front refrigerator, a 36" five-burner Delonghi Italian range with double ovens, freezer drawers, and dishwasher drawers. There is a slate kitchen floor and a heated stone floor in the master bath. And there is an extra large commercial grade grill on the ocean deck adjacent to the kitchen for grilling those slabs of fresh daily flounder and grouper or shrimp from Simmons Seafood 3 blocks away.
For your convenience, there is one bedroom(queen)downstairs in the main house with a large closet and adjacent bath. The additional three bedrooms and loft are located upstairs. The master bedroom(KING)is quite spacious with a walk-in closet and french doors to a large sundeck with excellent views of the ocean. The master bath has a roomy glass-enclosed shower and separate vanities. Two additional bedrooms (one QUEEN and one with two TWINS) share the other large upstairs bath with its extra deep claw foot tub/shower combo. The loft features a twin sleeper sofa, small TV/VCR and lots of family games. The Carriage Apartment has 2 bedrooms, one with 3 twins and one with a queen bed. There is also a queen pullout sleeper sofa. All the mattresses are new (2008) and of the highest quality. Don't forget to take the spiral stairs up to the crow's nest for 360-degree views of the island.
Our home also features a large family room with two sofas and a large HDTV with DVD/VCR, and a separate dining room. There is a 42" Flat Screen HDTV in the Cabana. The Cabana and pool are awesome and were just completed in June 2008. Open the glass doors of the Cabana for easy viewing of movies or the golf tournament while you swim with your kids. Our group was beyond pleased with this property! It is a wonderful location for large groups. We had 14 people and had more than enough room to spare. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to staying at this property again very soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

We visited for a long weekend and I cannot say enough about this home. It is truly a one of a kind beach house. Tons of character yet every modern amenity you can think of. Just steps from the beach, and a quick walk to town, this was such a perfect location. We were a group of girls that were getting together from all over (as we've spread out over time) and this was certainly the most perfect spot to hang by the pool, catch up over cocktails, and listen to music on the patio. Though we were at maximum capacity, we did not feel crammed at all. It comfortably sleeps 14! Thanks to Bea's nest, the weekend was as perfect as could be. We though we'd spend more time on the beach but we just loved the patio/pool/deck that we spent more time at the house then anticipated. I recommend this place!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.

I just stayed at the Bea's Nest on Labor Day weekend 2011 with 10 of my girlfriends and loved it! We had all stayed on Isle of Palms before but this was our first house rental. The pictures can't do it justice enough. We arrived and it was clean and easy to find all of the necessary supplies we would expect. The owner came and gave us a personal tour and made us feel right at home. The house has an excellent ocean view from the master bedroom and upstairs deck and the beach is an easy walk. The house is perfect for a large group because you have plenty of areas inside or outside to gather but also can find a quiet place to retreat if you need it. Our group is already talking about making the Bea's Nest an annual Labor Day trip!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My children and grandchildren spent a week in July at the Bea's Nest. We have stayed in many different homes on the Isle of Palms and I must say that this was our most enjoyable one. The house was very clean and the photos were very accurate. The pool was great and was used a lot. We were close to the beach and the access was handy. There was enough room for all ages (6 months to 61) for all to have fun without getting into each others way. We would recommend this house to any family.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

A dozen of my girlfriends and I spent an unforgettable long weekend at Bea's Nest last weekend. It is quaint, charming, and extremely comfortable! We all had room for privacy and alone time, but the house also has plenty of spots for a group to hang out together. We loved chatting by the pool and playing games in the family room. The layout is perfect for large groups and would be wonderful for extended family reunions as well. Thank you Pat for a great weekend!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I rented Bea's Nest for my family for June 5-12. We loved the house and the location. The house is well-equipped for cooking. The pool is wonderful......all in all it is a comfortable, low maintenance house. The beach access is great. The carriage house is a bonus with sleeping room for 5-7. It has it's own washer/dryer and private entrance. We had a great time and hope to return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
