My family rented this condo for 5 nights over the Thanksgiving Holiday. What a treat this location was! Right on the bay, and just a minute or two walk to the ocean. We really enjoyed the view from the condo. We found the condo very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, as we proved when we cooked a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and found everything we needed. Everything was in excellent working order as well. There are plenty of activities nearby. Miles of walking near the bay and ocean. We enjoyed Sea World on one of our days; it is so close by. There's plenty of shopping nearby, and while the girls shopped the guys played golf at a nearby course. Susan provided plenty of information prior to our arrival, and when when we had questions, we received prompt replies. Susan was very accomodating and easy to talk to. We will never forget Thanksgiving 2012 because of the wonderful memories we made here. We hope to return in the future.

Wedding/Reunion

We found the penthouse condo to be amazing! Our middle son was getting married on the beach and our other sons also flew in for the wedding. What a great family space we had! We spent a week enjoying the views, listening to the seals barking in the morning, saw dolphins jumping and of course time on the beach with our grandchildren. The condo has everything you could possibly need. I wish it had an elevator, but I'll take the views over the elevator! There is a Ralph's supermarket about 2 miles north on Mission Blvd. for stocking up on groceries, beer, etc Our favorite breakfast restaurant from when we lived in San Diego is located on Garnet in PB "The Broken Yolk". The condo is very clean and well maintained. With grandchildren we really appreciated having a washer and dryer in the condo. We will definitely rent this fabulous vacation home again! Excellent place to Stay

We had a wonderful time at this location. One of the best in Mission Beach. We had 9 people staying here and we were very comfortable. Very quiet at night with easy access to the ocean and a wonderful view of the bay. One of the best features is the keyless entry. You use codes to access the condo and the garage- so much easier than dealing with keys. The parking was better than expected. You can park a MInivan in the garages without any problems. When they say a full kitchen, they mean it. Pizza cutter, cheese grater, all were available. The balcony and its view were perfect. My dad loved having his breakfast out there every morning and watch the fireworks at Sea World each evening. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Relaxing and Enjoyable!

The condo was great! It had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. The underground parking was nice because during our stay we had rain and this way it kept us dry. With it being so close to the sand it made it super easy for me and my 16 mos old to enjoy and be super close in case of emergency. The owners were super easy to deal with and very accomodating. They kept us in know for any issues which was also super nice. After taking a walk on the ocean side with all the crazy spring breakers we were super glad that we chose this condo because it was quieter (not a big fan of waking up to partiers when you have a little one asleep). And we also got plenty of good exercise as there is only stairs up to the penthouse which we also enjoyed. Nice touch adding the bottle of wine to our stay. Thank you so much! If we come to SD again, I'm sure we'd rent from you again. A+++ - The Taylors and the Kyes

San DIego Family Vacation

We met our daughter, her husband and their two children in San Diego for a week long winter break in February. We were extremely fortunate to find Susan McArthur and her VRBO rental condo in San Diego on Mission Beach. Susan is extremely helpful in setting up our vacation location. Every detail was handled with incredible professional and personal attention. The condo with it's two private enclosed parking spaces met our every need. The location was perfect and the condo is everything that we could have hoped for. We actually had a group of 8 people very comfortably stay in this great 3 bedroom unit. I would highly recommend this unit to any family looking for a clean, well provisioned roomy condo to relax in. It was quiet with a great beach on the bay side, and easily within walking distance of a lot of great beach attractions. Our teenagers, including a girl friend found a lot to do right in the area and were well pleased with our choice of housing. GIve Susan a call. It was sure worthwhile for us.

An awesome place to stay!!

Our family stayed here for 9 days over the holidays. We traveled from New York State to celebrate Christmas with our new granddaughter and her parents, and had an unbelievable vacation! This condo is spectacular plus the view is priceless! It was so, so nice waking up to the view of boats docked in the bay! It's quiet and has a nice beach right out the front door. The ocean is a mere block away to watch unforgettable sunsets! In the unit, there is plenty of room to sleep 6 comfortably, as well as 2 parking spaces & 2 bikes. It's clean and well decorated. The owners were wonderful, adding special holiday touches to make our stay more homey. If we need a place to stay in the future, this will be it! We hated to leave! It was one of the best family vacations we've taken in years! I would not hesitate to recommend this unit! You will not be disappointed!!

Awesome vacation condo!

We rented this condo for a Thursday thru Monday weekend to catch the Packers play the Chargers. The condo is absolutely beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. Everything you could possibly ask for in a vacation home. Close to numerous tourist sites and the view out of the patio was fabulous. We had 6 people spend the weekend and had visitors also. The condo had plenty of room to entertain. The owners are great to work with and respond very quickly to any questions asked. I would rent again without question! Wish we were going back next weekend!

Great Mission Bay condo

We had a wonderful family week at this condo. If you look at the pictures and the video, you will have no surprises. The beach area was really great for our 4 year old granddaughter. The two parking places were real important to have. The condo was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Susan was most helpful and very prompt in responding to questions. She even sent back the razor my son left! The view is awesome. Good vacation!

The condo was even better than the pictures. It was spotless and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. The Best Vacation EVER

I highly recommend renting this Condo and will do so again. There was nothing we needed that this Condo does not provide. There was 6 of us for 7 days and it is extremely big feeling. The fact that we could all stay together and cook when we wanted to and have parking was just the best. It's very close to a small market where we walked to several times. It's also close to many shops and eating places. The owners did everything possible to make sure our stay was enjoyable!!!!!! We also are so pleased we stayed on the Bay Side and saw the fireworks from Sea World every night. The Bay Side is so clean and quiet at night. Thank you for the Best Vacation EVER!!!

This was my second time renting this bayfront unit, and I will defintely rent again in the future. The location is fabulous, and unit is very clean and nicely furnished. It is the perfect size for a large group. The beds are very comfortable and the owners are a pleasure to work with!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Steve & Susan's condo. It is on the quiet part of Mission Beach and everything is just minutes away. The condo was very comfortable and spacious and we made some really wonderful memories there! We were able to view the fireworks display at Seaworld from the condo every night, which was just beautiful! Thank you for your hospitality!

We stayed at the condo in February, 2010. It was a great location. It was very clean and very well stocked with essentials. The view was fabulous. The condo was quiet and very conveniently located. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this condo. Should we have future vacations in San Diego, this is the first location I would try to rent again.

What a great view. Three large bedrooms and a big kitchen/living area. Plenty to do in the neighborhood, good restaurants, the beach is just blocks away, plus the bay. Cool breezes were great for cool nights and fun days. A very good location in San Diego and great for up to 8 people.

Thankyou to Steve & Susan for a lovely place to stay while we celebrated our son's graduation. They were so gracious and helped us out with needed details when we needed them. We agree with the other guests and the condo was so warm and easy to live in with all the special hospitality touches - we felt right at home. Lots of room for family drop-ins, too! But the best part was always seeing the beautiful bay with lots of activity during the day and wonderful nightlights after sunset.We also loved just walking out the door to our own beach! It is in a great location, far enough from the noise & bustle of Belmont Park, but easy walking if you wanted to go out or to the ocean beach. We brought our kyaks and bikes which made for lots of fun, too. Our gramma did have trouble with so many stairs - but she said it was worth it once she got there! Highly recommend this!

We just returned from staying at Steve and Susan's condo in Mission Beach and we cannot say enough positive about our experience. The condo was very clean, very comfortable, was in a great location and worked well for us and our teenage/young adult children. In addition to the condo, we really appreciated the parking space and the extra amenities that the owners provided. We highly recommend the McArthur penthouse for able bodied people who want a great place to stay. (The stairs could be a problem for elderly people or people with disabilities).

Our family stayed during the last week in April, 2009. We had an absolutely fantastic time. The weather cooperated,the beaches were beautiful. We parked the car and explored on foot. The Condo had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The owners went out of ther way to make us feel welcome and to provide all the necessities and much more. We stayed at this condo for a week in June 2008. As a matter of fact, we have just returned home. This is a fantastic place to stay. You won't lack for any needed items as the owners have filled the home with little extras like batteries (should yours run out as ours did at an inopportune time!) and every kitchen gadget you could possibly need. Parking was tight but adequate and much appreciated as it looks as if that is a premium.(We drove a Toyota Highlander if that helps) This condo is convenient to EVERYTHING and the location is gorgeous. TONS of fun things to do. I wasn't sure about staying on the bayside as we usually like to view the ocean, but the view was so surreal and calming. I never tired of just sitting on the balconyh and looking at all the different landmarks. We were even able to view a fireworks display each night from our balcony that Sea World does across the bay!! It was something we looked forward to each night after a long day of touring. If you are fortunate enough to reserve this condo, you won't be disappointed. What a great place for a great price. Many thanks to Steve and Susan for opening their home to us. It was by far the best vacation our family has ever experienced. If we ever return to the San Diego area (from South Carolina) we will be sure to try and stay here again. There are no negatives to this condo. Even the 3 floors climb on the stairs was easily managed and the view was indeed worth it!!!

My family and I stayed at the Bayside Condo in Feb 2006. The condo acted as a common meeting place for our friends and family that traveled from out of town for my brothers wedding. When I was searching for accommodations that would suit our needs there were several that made it to the elimination round, but my mind was made up after speaking to Jeff. His hospitality came shining through phone. To say the least we had a FANTASTIC time. The condo was perfect!! Clean, well furnished, very comfortable, and having a kitchen with unexpected amenities was outstanding. I've stayed in condos that didn't have salt and pepper, so I (we) really appreciated the kitchen and laundry items that you just don't throw in your suit case when traveling 3,000 miles. Jeff and Dawn, thanks for allowing us to stay in your home away from home.

We had a great time in your condo Jeff & Dawn. We took our 2 daughters and their families - 4 grandchildren ranging in ages of 6 - 20. We did the tourist things - Sea World, Zoo, Lego Land, Wild Animal Park & toured the Midway, and the grandkids couldn't wait to get back to the condo so they could play on the beach and go to the ocean. It was so convenient and we were thrilled with the beach equipment we were able to use. Viewing the Sea World fireworks from the front balcony became a nightly occasion. Having a BBQ and washer and dryer available to us were great. Thanks so much - our family vacation was wonderful.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful condo with us. I took my 2 daughters and their families (5 grandchildren) and we had a great time. There was plenty of room for all and the kids enjoyed the easy access to the bay and the ocean. The views are fabulous and everything we needed was in walking distance (which is good because parking is difficult everywhere). The kids really enjoyed the boogy boards provided and we all had a great time. Thanks!

Jeff:Just a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed your condo in Mission Beach (6/1 – 6/9). We miss it already! Our family had a great vacation in San Diego and the condo was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed the location of the condo with the privacy of the bay and even the beach felt private being a distance between the public beach access. The condo is equipped with everything we needed. The grill is a nice extra. Really appreciated the garage parking as well. Our son is considering attending college in the area and we would definitely keep your condo in mind for visits to San Diego.

We absolutely loved this condo. The location was just perfect. The bay is right outside your door and is very peaceful. If you want the activity of the beach, it is really just a blocks walk. I felt very safe here. There are many permanent residents in the neighborhood. They help to keep an eye on things. Our kids were even able to walk (alone) the 2 short blocks to the store to get ice cream at the full fledged market. The same distance also offers a couple of nice neighborly places for cocktails. And, we were just far enough away from Belmont Park to enjoy all the activities. It was also fantastic to be able to bring our dog. She really enjoyed her daily walks on the bay. My only negative comment would be that the stairs get a little exhausting at times but, it is good exercise for everyone. I would highly recommend this condo to everyone.

Owner response: Thanks for staying, and the great comments about the condo. The location of our building is the best in Mission Beach, and the third level penthouse views are unequaled. Our repeat guests agree that the few steps to this third level Penthouse are well worth it. FYI, only a few buildings in Mission Beach have third floors (and thus, the spectacular views), as they are no longer permitted with new construction. Jeff Kelley

We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful condo. It was better than expected. The pictures do not do it justice. The location is perfect because it's out of the really heavy traffic area and noise. Penthouse , so the views are fantastic . This condo was extremely clean and very well appointed. Nice decorating. We enjoyed our May stay at the Batiki condo. The location is pretty close to ideal, especially for families. The condo fronts directly on a quiet, sandy beach, which we had to ourselves during our entire stay. It's perfect for relaxing and for children to go into the calm Bay water. Just 3 blocks away (an easy, safe, flat walk) is the oceanfront, should you want waves and a busier beach. We walked 4 blocks to a shop and rented wetsuits and surfboards, then walked just 1 block further for fun surfing. Maybe a half-mile south (another easy, flat, and pleasant walk along the beach) is a grassy park with playground equipment. The condo itself had everything we needed. It is even more spacious than indicated by the website photos. Best of all, Jeff (the owner) was a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Jeff and Dawn, for a great vacation. We'll be back!

Very nice condo Jeff. Our family of six enjoyed our visit and the use of your home. The Bay side is so serene compared to the ocean side, but with the location of your condo it is a short walk across the street to get to the ocean when we wanted. The condo had everything we needed to prepare our meals and relax. A real plus for us having two adults and two teenagers was the combination locks on the unit. It made the stay that much more convenient when one of us needed to run back to the condo. We didn't have to worry about keys. A very nice touch. Thanks again Jeff.

Thank you Jeff for sharing your great condo on Mission Beach. The location was perfect for our vacation with my two small grandchildren. We were close to all of the attractions and could see the SeaWorld fireworks from the balcony. However, the majority of our time was spent on the Bayside beach watching the kids play in the surf and sand. They loved it! The condo is comfortable and roomy and since it is on the third floor, we could leave the windows open at night and enjoy the sea breeze. We had a perfect family vacation in your condo and we hope to return again in the future. Thank you for your hospitality.

We visit San Diego once or twice a year. We stayed in the Batiki condo from 4/29/05-5/6/05. This is definitely the best vacation rental that we have stayed in. The location is perfect & convenient to all the San Diego attractions & restaurants. Just steps away from the bay or across the street to the ocean. The condo was clean & had all the comforts of home. We will definitely return & would highly recommend this to anyone. Thanks Jeff!

We found this penthouse condo to be just the ticket for our Spring Break get-together. Our son and his family joined us from Fairbanks, Alaska, and we fell in love with San Diego's attractions and with the awesome views from this penthouse. It is fully and completely furnished and is right on the Mission Bay boardwalk which is so perfect for strolling (for grandparents) and rollerblading (for grandchildren). After travelling for 15 hours to get to San Diego this penthouse was worth every minute,it is very large and airy,very clean and most certainly very comfortable.After walking around Mission Bay area and veiwing the other properties this one is most certainly in the best position for veiwing the boats and people watching.Having not hired a car we found it in a very good position for getting to most tourist attractions by taxi most costing approx $20,but a car is recommended and there is great parking with the condo.Jeff was a pleasure to deal with and gave us a comforting call to check every think was ok and i will certainly be recommending this property to my friends in the UK,thanks for everythink Jeff it was wounderfull

Apart from the fact that the weather in San Diego was a soothing change from Boston winter, the condo was a perfect place to enjoy our family reunion. Located on a quite, serene side of Mission Beach and just a step away from excitement of Pacific Beach, this spacious condo is equipped with whatever you'll need. Jeff Kelly is helpful in every way. Highly recommended.

My two sons, our schnoodle, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, roomy, convenient condo. The exquisite view of boats in the bay is quite a contrast to what we see in Minneapolis! Sea World, fabulous Dog Beach (in Ocean Beach), and many reasonable places to shop and eat are nearby. Access to I-5 and I-8 to get elsewhere is easy. This is a great place to stay!

Our family and 2 bassett hounds had a wonderful stay at the Kelley's Penthouse. The view was beautiful and the firework show from Sea World was great. Our family of all ages 20's - 50's enjoyed every minute of our stay.We are all looking forward to next year vacation at the Batiki Penthouse.

We had a wonderful week in San Diego. The bay side of Mission Beach was perfect for our granddaughters, shallow water, beautiful beach and perfect weather. It was great for the adults also - great views, very convenient. The condo was wonderful - it was equipped with everything that was needed to have a relaxing vaction. When we arrived at the condo, and discovered that it was equipped with everything you could possibly need. Everything was neat an clean and bright and welcoming. How wonderful to get up in the morning after a restful sleep with the breeze blowing through the whole condo. (There was plenty of room for the 9 of us). I would sit on the balcony with my coffee and watch my grandchildren play on the beach right in front of me. The children had brought their rollerblades and they had so much fun that the adults went out and bought some for themselves! They all skated around the bay and along the ocean. What a wonderful vacation. We hope to be back again soon.

We had a wonderful vacation for Spring Break! The condo is great -- very large, comfortable in every way, and perfectly located -- facing the quiet Bay yet steps away from the ocean. Thanks for the excellent condition of the condo -- it's a pleasure to come "home" to. We plan on staying again!

This wonderfully peaceful location has it all! If you want the fun of the ocean it is steps away. I prefered the serenity of the Bay that you overlook from the patio. Everything you would need is provided. Groceries and beachwear is all you need to bring! Off season is when I went and it was perfect for quiet day and evening strolls by the water. When we wanted more activity, it is just minutes away by car to the funky shops of Pacific Beach. The condo is well maintained and very clean. Perfect, perfect, perfect! I am definitely going back!!

We stayed in Batiki condo in mid-September. What a great place! The furniture and beds are comfortable and the kitchen amenities are top-notch with lots of dishes. We cooked-in several times and it worked well. There are even plenty of wine glasses! The view from the balcony is scenic as well as relaxing. There is always something to watch (fish jumping out of the water and pelicans). We got our much needed aerobic exercise going up and down the stairs leading to the outside, and just outside, there are walking paths around the bay, another plus. Thank you for maintaining such a cool place for a vacation.

Our condo is located in one of the few Mission Beach buildings that exceed the 30 foot height limitation, thus, we have one of the best panoramic views of Bay and Ocean. We feel this more than makes up for the extra few stairs and our guests seem to agree.

We had a delightful stay at the condo in June. The location on the Bay was perfect for our kids. We found the bonfire on the beach a real treat for watching the fireworks at SeaWorld and making s'mores. The condo was roomy, and nicely furnished; and with four kids, the washer and dryer were especially appreciated. Thanks for accomidating our schedule and for your attention to detail. We rented this condo for a week to run the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and see the San Diego sites. The condo was great for our young kids - from the location on the calm bay to the great parks w/in walking distance to the great tile floors. My sister came for part of the time and it was large enough for both of our families. The owner, Jeff was very friendly and made renting it very easy. We may be back next year for another marathon vacation! Thanks.

Our two weeks in the "Batiki" were superb. The apartment was well maintained - any problems (we had a sink back up) were taken care of immediately. Our host (very pleasant and accomodating) phoned a couple of times to make sure that things were as they should be. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. Parking was easy to access. The beach on the Bay in front of the building was quiet, even on the week-end. We even had front row seats for the fireworks from Sea World! Aside from the four flights of stairs up from the parking garage, there was nothing that we did not enjoy about our stay.

We stayed at the Kelley's Mission Bay Condo while in San Diego on business. It was a pleasure to come "home" after a long day at the San Diego Convention Center. The views and 5 minute walk to the Ocean were huge bonus. Very relaxing.
