Barnegat Light is one of the few places along the Jersey Shore left unspoiled, with expansive windswept dunes and scenic greenery against a sparkling Atlantic backdrop. Wide beaches, natural dunes and no storm damage. Barnegat Light is in great shape
The 3rd Floor main living Area showcases panoramic views of the ocean and dunes. This living area is open to the Gourmet Kitchen and adjacent dining area with walkout to the main deck. The main deck gives access to the rooftop deck for sunbathing or dining.
The back portion of the 3rd floor houses bedroom #1. The roomy Master Suite with King bed & vaulted ceiling has two small balconies and it's own private bath with a spa style shower.
The 2nd Floor has a comfortable open area, offering an additional large LCD TV and a selection of Disney movies & other VHS tapes & DVDs. Off of this open living area is the 2nd Master Bedroom with a private door to deck. The Queen size bed faces the ocean and a romantic bed & breakfast gas fireplace. This suite has it's own private bath (shower/tub).
Bedrooms 3 and 4 on the 2nd Floor may be set up as a suite, or separated for privacy by closing the french pocket doors. These rooms provide a quiet, private area 'away' for a young family with a baby or small children. There is one entrance to both of these bedrooms. There is a full bath connected to the inner (King) bedroom with a half bath accessable to the other bedroom.
The bathroom which is off the King bedroom has a shower/tub. The second bedroom, which can be used as the children's portion of this suite, has a full Twin day-bed and an additional full Twin that pulls out from under. This room includes a Crib convertible to toddler bed.
The First floor with it's high ceilings and open living space provides an area for quiet reading with its small library of books or a place to enjoy games. The sofa converts to a pull-out bed for extra guests.
Bedroom #5 on this level has a Queen bed with adjacent full bath, which it shares with Bedroom #6, which has bunk beds and a full twin stored underneath to sleep three.
On a side note: This house offers extensive sound-proofing between floors and interior walls which lends itself well to large or extended families. Please keep in mind this house is very versatile and could be set up as a private, sophisticated 4-bedroom Bed & Breakfast, (only you will have to cook your own breakfast). This should not be a problem with a gourmet kitchen...GE Monogram gas cook-top, double oven (with convection option), dishwasher and Jennair French 3-door refrigerator.
The Brazilian Tigerwood floors join together the kitchen/dining areas, and the Jennair 48' gas grill is just steps away on the oceanfront deck. If weather permits, the roof top deck presents a world class dining experience for up to 12,15 people Most importantly the overall design combines all of these features to give you a beautiful, user-friendly vacation home.
The house sits on one of the highest areas of Long Beach Island. From the rooftop deck you'll be stunned by the 360 degree views including Old Barney ~ our lighthouse, the inlet area, maritime forest, expansive ocean front views from horizon to horizon and all the way around to the bay area and commercial fishing fleet in the distance & sunsets in the western sky.
This Oceanfront Property is set well back from the waters edge overlooking a small maritime forest, to the dunes beyond ~ where a boardwalk path leads to the Beach and the sparkling water waiting for you.

This was such a great house and location. The porches were wonderful - the roof porch, the beach view porch, and the quiet shaded porch. The accommodations were terrific especially the king sized beds and the house had comfortable furniture, TVs, computer and wifi access and many bathrooms. The owners have included many baby friendly accommodations: a baby bumper for the glass table top, two baby gates for the little ones and a crib. My sisters cooked up a storm and used both refrigerators as family came and went. The beach was a hike but the owners left wonderful carts to get stuff to and from the beach. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather - great sandy beach, loads of shells, beautiful surf and a guarded beach. My family was in heaven! We will definitely plan to come again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My friends and I stayed at this lovely house at the end of September 2011 for a Christian women's retreat. Although we were expecting 14 women, we only had 11. The house is the perfect size for a group of this size. Bedrooms were wonderful on the 2nd (entry) and 3rd (main) floors. The first floor (ground) is probably best suited to children and teens. All comments and descriptions given about the house are accurate. I would be careful (as mentioned in the description) if you have disabled guests, as there is a lot of walking and steps. The views are wonderful, the house is extremely clean! The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need, and is high quality all around. Make sure to head up to the rooftop deck - you won't be disappointed. The location is more quiet and residential than Beach Haven or similar. We preferred that. Our group was thrilled with the rental, and everyone was ready to make a deposit for next year. Thanks so much for the hospitality! We would definitely recommendRecommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

At every turn, I saw another amazing sight: a computer set up for us to use, HD TVs, spotlessly clean rooms, new cookware, new high-end appliances, beautiful iron deck furniture, new umbrellas and chairs, linens, towels and bedding that are not stained, but relatively new. Everything neat, organized and ready for our enjoyment. The location with the pine forest and dunes is outstanding: "The best beach I've ever been to," said my city bred husband. You don't feel like you're baking in the heat and sun. The house has quiet and efficient a/c with thermostat on each floor, everything the owner claims and more. These people clearly enjoy making their vacation home an outstanding experience for their visitors. You cannot go wrong with this rental, unless your teens are looking for action every day, in which case you should be in Beach Haven. This is peaceful, quiet, and restful. Take a walk to the lighthouse or the bay, dig for clams or fish, enjoy the few shops, enjoy your friends and family, swim and take in the ocean view. Not good for the infirm, as there are always stairs to climb. Living rooms are on the top floor, where the beautiful views are available all day.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+.

WOW! This beautiful house was everything we were looking for and more! Perfect location on the beach and near the lighthouse. The beach is very wide and not crowded at all which made for great wiffle ball and football games. The waves were good for boogie boarding. The house is stocked with beach toys and chairs. The pool table was a huge hit as was the roofdeck and outdoor grill. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, serving trays, pots, cutting boards, and seasonings. The fridge is HUGE and there is a second fridge in the garage downstairs. We cooked all our meals in and found everything we needed. The beds all came with linens. I have used VRBO before but this is a true Diamond! The house feels like a home and it was a pleasure communicating with the owners. It is an easy drive from NYC and also Philly. It was our first time to the house but it will not be our last. We are already planning the second annual beach trip for next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I was looking for a special place to accommodate 12 of us for a spiritual retreat weekend and I found it in this lovely home. The living room with it's large but cozy wrap around sofa, charming gas fireplace, and the many spacious windows with incredible views of the dunes and ocean, provided the perfect setting for our group meditations. The numerous bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas and decks gave us the privacy we needed for journaling, reflecting, making phone calls home to family, reading or just relaxing. From heart to heart chats on the porch swing to early morning Tai Chi on the roofdeck, from afternoon tea on the sunny front deck to star gazing on the roof, from moonlight walks on the beach to a shared feast around the dining room table, this was indeed an ideal spot. A weekend we will long cherish leaving us with tranquil visions of pine trees, dunes, ocean, and expansive sky. Many thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Our week at this oceanfront beachhouse was amazing and the memories created will last a lifetime. First off, our vacation was the first at Long Beach Island. This house had gorgeous views and the living room was so relaxing and peaceful with the panaramic window view of the ocean. The house was very accomodating with more rooms and bathrooms than we needed and a kitchen well stocked for our homecooked dinner meals. We enjoyed the old pool table in the garage and even found the perfect CDs in the living room to sit and listen to during our evening wind down. To top it off was the rooftop deck where we got to sit and view the ocean, old Barney, and the bay. We also loved our stroll through the dunes to the private location on the beach. Thanks for the lovely vacation at LBI - we will certainly be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

If you're looking for a fabulous place for a few days of R&R, no need to look any further. This house was my perfect 'stay-cation' destination for my 27th annual NYC area Super Bowl weekend friends & family getaway reunion. Wow! What a view and what a house! Everything you need and more. The only thing better (if that's possible) was the incredible hospitality and treatment by the owners. It's that good a place and a great value that you're guaranteed to love ...and so close to Atlantic City too. With the view, looking out the panoramic windows towards the ocean and dunes, I thought I was in the caribbean somewhere -- the perfect quick winter vacation spot. The summers must be even nicer...it's truly an ideal year-round getaway destination! You just can't go wrong with this idyllic beachfront rental option.Did you find this review helpful? We stayed in this gorgeous house during the first weekend of May and we loved it. The house is beautifully decorated and is super clean. The master bedroom is very elegant and impressive with two lovely balconies. The beds and the down pillows and comforters throughout the house are extremely comfortable. There is a sitting area on each of the 3 floors with many comfortable sofas and chairs to ensure a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation. There are nice chairs in the bedrooms too. There are two HDTVs in the house in addition to a regular TV. The children watched the one on the top floor and adults used the one on the second floor and everyone is happy. The computer inside the second floor two-bedroom suite was used to surf the web and play games and kids loved it. The house is well-equipped and we didn't have to go out to buy anything. The view from the house is striking, and the short walk from the house to the beach is breathtaking. The Barnegat LIghthouse is only 0.4 miles away and we enjoyed the dazzling views from the top of the lighthouse as well as the lovely park.Did you find this review helpful? Why the Owner Chose Barnegat Light:
Barnegat Light is a unique ocean front area with natural unobstructed dunes and open beaches. The homes are set back off the beach front which has allowed mother nature to create a natural maritime environment. The inlet and natural ocean currents combine to create a varied and rich environment for both land and sea creatures. In early season some of our beach area is roped off to protect nesting areas for endangered shore birds.
Our beach area is expansive and never crowded with lifeguard stands set ever 200 yards or so along the beach. No problem with high tide forcing people off the beach or trying to find a spot of sand to fit your family.
We have excellent surf fishing caused by the schools of small bait fish accumulating around the sand bars. The rock jetty by the inlet provides another excellent fishing location. The whole area is excellent for shell hunting. The ocean and wave conditions will vary as you walk along the ocean front area due to the jetty currents and sand bars. The swimming is safe and conditions closely watched by the BL life guards. We also have a township bay beach swimming area. If you have an extended family you will find an area that will fit all members from 4' shallow pools to crashing waves out beyond the sand bars.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We have three levels of living area which is not common to our area. We are at a high enough ground elevation to allow the three levels within the zoning parameters. The net result is we have more living space plus our roof top deck sets above most everything around us. The 360* views are unobstructed and beautiful. The house is very solidly constructed with additional structural support throughout . The house is very comfortable and stable even in the worst of mid-winter weather. Most folks find the house to be 'beautiful' ~ we hear it over and over again. We also usually get an 'Oh, WoW' when folks first step into the third floor and look out towards the ocean front.
The location is unique with the natural setting. Most folks that vacation here are looking for our unique natural location, along with the expected Jersey shore white sandy beaches and beautiful ocean.
Negatives [by owner]
We do not have an elevator .... We have three levels not wheelchair accessible. A person may spend a very comfortable and enjoyable week up on the third level [kitchen, dining, bathrooms, master bedroom, tv, and fantastic views from living room or deck area] but getting from ground level to third floor will require help for folks that are wheelchair restricted.
Distance to the beach..... The area is beautiful and open but you will have to walk a boarded path to the dune tops [2/3 minutes] and then down to the waters edge and guarded beach area. All according to which way you decide to go but another 3/4 minutes to the waters edge. We supply beach wagons and carts if needed to carry beach stuff or little people. The township will supply at no cost [contact and reserve preseason] beach wheel chairs which seem to work well for wheel chair restricted folks.
