BRIGHAM'S COVE COTTAGE - Gorgeous Views on a Secluded Cove.
Come see why we return to this Maine idyll year after year. We've lived all over the world as expatriates, yet we always look forward to spending time in our Maine retreat. We know you'll love it here, too, where the pine forest and rocky coast meet the peaceful, deep waters.
After a day of swimming and strolling at Popham Beach, retire to the deck to enjoy the breeze and watch the sun set over Brigham's Cove and Winnegance Bay. Then come inside to enjoy lobsters or grilled swordfish as you look out to the water through the floor to ceiling windows. Adults can have a peaceful conversation in the main living area while children watch their favorite shows in the adjoining TV room. The house has 4 airy bedrooms upstairs and two full baths. The master bedroom opens to the upper balcony. The kitchen is well equipped. There is an attached garage for all your outdoor gear, and a separate laundry room.
The best beach in Maine, at Popham Beach State Park, is 20 minutes from the house. You can visit Fort Popham and finish your day with a casual seafood dinner at Spinney's Restaurant.
Brigham's Cove is peaceful and quiet, yet it's very close to all the amenities of the mid-coast including Historic Bath and the Maine Maritime Museum, the eclectic college town of Brunswick, and Freeport--home to LL Bean and name brand outlet shops.
Reed State park is also nearby, and Portland and Camden are about an hour from the house. Acadia National Park is just 3 hours away in Bar Harbor.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, you can swim, canoe or kayak directly from our private dock and explore the cove and surrounding inlets. There are plenty of nearby areas for hiking, biking, fishing and sailing.
Come to the Maine coast and enjoy life at Brigham's Cove House.
If you've never been to Maine in the fall, it's not to be missed. Stay for a weekend (see rates below) and take in the spectacular Autumnal colors!

A very comfortable, well-equipped house, accurately described in the website, with fine gent named Rich easily reachable to solve any problem. Great swimming off the floating dock (plus good exercise in climbing back to the house). Convenient to Bath, Wiscasset, Acadia park, etc. but we especially enjoyed driving down the peninsula to Popham, Phippsburg and other little communities, good local restaurants, seafood, wharf-fresh lobsters to take back to Brigham's Cove and enjoy on the decks while feeding the semi-tame chipmunks & squirrels. Don't miss: The Maine Maritime Museum and the Trolley Tour of Bath Iron Works; the excellent beef and fresh sausage at Brackett's IGA.

Our stay at Brigham’s Cove was just what a vacation should be – relaxing, fun, and surrounded by beauty. Just getting up every morning and drinking coffee while gazing out at the boats on the Cove was a major highlight. There are beautiful views from the house, but the best one is from the dock. The house is roomy and comfortable, and the kitchen is stocked with most everything you need. When you venture out, you’ll find plenty to do – a trip to Popham State Beach, hiking, or strolling around Bath, a small city with a surprising number of good restaurants and stores. It’s also the home of the Maine Maritime Museum, which provides fascinating details of the area’s shipbuilding history. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and didn’t want to leave!

We had a wonderful stay at the Brigham Cove cottage and wish we could have stayed longer. The views are wonderful from every room. House is large enough for everyone to have their own space. We had a wonderful time grilling on the deck. Would recommend this to others.

It is our last evening at Brigham's Cove and we are sad to be leaving in the morning. We had a great week at your house......everyone thouroughly enjoyed themselves. The weather was absolutely perfect. If I didn't know better, I would think that it is sunny and hot in ME all the time! We were able to do a lot of swimming and kayaking off the dock as every afternoon was sunny and warm. The house was great.......everything our family needed. Thank you for making it available!

We have had an absolutely glorious time here at Brigham's Cove. Ideally we would have spent hours and hours sitting on the porch enjoying the sun and the beautiful view, but the very thorough collection of Maine information sent us on wonderful adventures that limited our porch time! We spent happy hours with our daughter and three year old grandson on Popham Beach and riding the wonderful little train on the way to Boothbay. We wandered the Botanical Gardens with college friends. We visited Bowdoin with our alumni son-in-law. But the best part was coming home to your very comfortable house. We were absolutely amazed at how well outfitted it is. We have rented a number of vacation houses, but we have never had one that provided so many of the "necessities" of life. Everyone- including us - commented on how comfortable the beds were and how well they slept. We enjoyed watching the US Open in high def. We enjoyed listening to your collection of CD's. We watched a movie one night. It's like the commercial "yea, we got that!" We hope to be able to come back again. We can certainly understand what led you to buy such a delightful and comfortable property. Many thanks for sharing it with us.

We had a wonderful week at the cottage. It is very private, with amazing views. The cottage was spacious. It was easy to have multiple things going on in the house at one time, without people disturbing each other, thanks to the doors on the TV room and to the second floor. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we could possibly need for meal prep etc. The large dining table was great for meals as well as card and game playing. The area was great. Close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants.

My family and I stayed at Brigham's Cove Cottage in July of 2009 for one week. It was a delightful experience because of the peaceful, secluded location, the beauty of the Maine coast, and the comfort of the spacious house. Everything I had read on the Internet regarding this house is accurate. The owner, who is gracious and responsible, made sure our stay was positive. Brigham's Cove is definitely off the beaten path, so it is one of the most quiet places in which we have ever stayed. The house is up high on a hill overlooking Winnegance Bay. It is a two story house with a top deck on the second floor, a middle deck on the first floor, and a bottom deck below the house on the hillside. There are stairs from this deck to the dock on the cove. My favorite place to enjoy the view was sitting on the bottom deck in the morning light or in the late afternoon as the sun was sparkling on the water. The house is tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture. The main room on the first floor has the kitchen, dining table (with eight chairs) and a living area with two new armchairs and a couch. It is an open large room with many windows and a sliding glass door onto the deck with a view of the cove. My family and I enjoy cooking, so we were able to prepare our meals in the well-stocked kitchen and eat either inside or outside on the deck. There are several excellent restaurants and seafood markets nearby, as well as two beautiful beaches. The Phippsburg area of Maine is a very attractive location, only a three hour drive from Boston, yet close to the towns of Bath and Brunswick. We enjoyed our time there.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this beautiful, spacious, light, open house, right on the water!! It's the perfect mix of complete comfort and elegance. Everything was well stocked, wired (including wireless access). Owners are warm, welcoming, and accommodating! Also -- completely accessible to local town, shops, restaurants, culture. Highly recommend this!!

My husband and I spent three weeks this past summer at Brigham Cove Cottage watching/helping the owners, our son and his wife, furnish and decorate their home. We love to cook and there is a well stocked kitchen. New furniture, lamps, and books (from the library of my husband, an English professor) provide for good summer reading. There is a separarate cozy room with a large high definition TV and DVD player. A cupboard full of games and large picture windows with a gorgeous view make even rainy days fun for the family. For those who don't like to cook there are several good restaurants not far away. One favorite is Spinneys which is on Popham Beach one of the best sand beaches in Maine, only 20 minutes from the cottage. Popham beach stretches for miles and has a river which crosses it. At low tide the river provides warmer tidal pools for small children. There is a fee for Popham Beach but one can buy a pass for the season. Go early, take a picnic and an umbrella and chairs. Watching the tide and cross tides and river and an island is an all day occupation. No need to bring beach toys with you to Maine. Our favorite store (and everyones) in Bath is Renys. They have anything you need for the beach, and everything else! Bath is a fun town. Not too touristy. The Bath Iron Works is an integral part of the town and keeps Bath from being just a "tourist" town. Thirty minutes south is Brunswick, where Bowdoin College has a summer theater and an art gallery. Brunswick has fun shops, good restaurants and a Farmer's Market, as does Bath. Not to forget that Bean's Outfitters is perhaps 45 minutes away in Freeport. For the larger family, as ours is, there are nearby rentals. We had three families in two houses 10 minutes apart. Lots of fun for cousins at the beach and family lobster dinners or hot dogs and hamburgers on the great new grill and huge new picnic table at Brigham Cove. Our family rented Brigham Cove Cottage for 8 years before our son bought it. We come from Michigan, our son's family comes from France, our daughters and their families come from Florida and Chicago. That should say something about our love of Brigham Cove Cottage, Bath, and Maine.
