Lovely, quaint, 1923 traditional Midwestern foursquare house situated just a few blocks from downtown Iowa City and the University of Iowa. Close to everything! The large and beautiful City Park is an easy walk away, a small children's park is right around the corner, and the prestigious Iowa Writer's Workshop is just six blocks to the west.
The house is fully furnished for up to 5 people. Downstairs there's a living room; dining room; second eating/working/game area; and a fully stocked kitchen.
Upstairs you'll find a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and dresser; a second bedroom with a double bed, dresser, TV and DVD; and a third bedroom/office with a work area and twin-size bed.
A washer and dryer are located in the basement for your use. There's also an enclosed front porch for enjoying summer evenings. The house has central A/C, local telephone service, two televisions with DVD, cable TV, and wireless internet.
Rentals are available by the week, month, or semester. This is a perfect alternative to hotels for parents coming in for graduation ceremonies or to visit students; for participants in the Iowa Summer Writing Festival in June and July; or for writers needing a quiet, creative environment to work on a book.
Iowa City is a small, progressive town in Eastern Iowa that's home to the University of Iowa and numerous arts and cultural opportunities. Outside Magazine ranks it in the top 10 college towns in the U.S. in terms of lifestyle and activities, and USA Today ranked it the third best-educated city in the country. Prairie Lights, one of the best independent bookstores in the U.S., is a ten-minute walk from the house and hosts author readings continuously throughout the year. |
