Adorable!

This adorable and oh-so-charming cottage was the PERFECT haven for our girlfriend getaway. We spent mornings in the light-filled kitchen, chatting away over coffee...then settled into the lawn chairs in the super private, sunny backyard and chatted a few more hours! The house is so wonderful, we actually had to tear ourselves away to go see fabulous Santa Barbara...! Everything was spotlessly clean and in exceptional condition. Fun little kitchen. The listing photos and description are an accurate reflection of the interiors and exterior areas. We walked everywhere from the cottage, from downtown to East Beach to Shoreline Park. The neighborhood is stately and quiet, with many other Spanish Colonial style homes and apartment buildings. The rental process was a smooth transaction, and Bobbie, the owner, is nice as can be. The only real problem we had was that we both fell in love with the house and didn't want to leave!

We have stayed here for 3 years, and love it so much we keep on coming back. The location is terrific-2 blocks from the beach-and the place is full of charm. Sweet decorating, wonderful private backyard, and space for guests. Couldn't ask for anything more. Plus the landlords are very responsive whenever a (rare problem crops up.

December, 2009 My husband and I celebrated a family Christmas and our 40th wedding anniversary at the Ruh's wonderful beach cottage. The location is fabulous, the house immaculate and the owners so helpful they even put up a Christmas tree for us before we arrived. We hope we can come again!

We spent a lovely November day here. The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. One of the highlights was the cozy fireplace. The owners have put a lot of thought and love into this cottage. We will definitely be back~

We met our daughter and son-in-law at the house for a long weekend, and it turned out to be the perfect mini-vacation. The walk to the beach and the art and crafts along the beach was so nice. We couldn't get over the smell of the orange and jasmine blossoms that wafted into the house! We would definitely plan a return trip.

This cottage is very well located close to everything. The house has a feeling of a home and not of a rental property. We have enjoyed our week in SB. Next time we come for a visit we definitely will try to rent it again.

We had a wonderful stay at the terrific property. It is extremely well located, and each morning we walked down to the beach. The property is located in a beautifully-maintained neighborhood, and it is only about 1 block away from the beach. In addition, the coordination and arrangements with the owners were both well and easily handled. My wife and I both recommend this property. Enjoy Santa Barbara and thank you.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Capricho for the Thanksgiving week. It is the perfect place to stay in Santa Barbara. There is a reason why the old Potter Hotel was sited a block or so away. It is an easy walk to the Amtrak Station, Stearn's Wharf, downtown, the Farmer's Market and the beach. The house is a perfect little Spanish gem with everything you need. We cooked a 17 lb turkey in the oven and shared a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration by the fire with our son and his family. Everything you need is here including a wonderfully landscaped small yard and patio. We picked oranges from the backyard tree and enjoyed fresh squeezed orange juice every morning.California at its'best. Santa Barbara's sights are easily accessible by walking or taking the free downtown trolley. Take the train and have a great car-free vacation. Arrangements with Bobbie were professional and easy. This is a great place to stay in Santa Barbara and this from a couple who lived there for 12 years.

We spent a week in Santa Barbara for our son's wedding this fall. The weather was perfect and we loved staying in the Ruh's West Beach Cottage. It is cozy and cute with a wonderful back and side yard. There is nothing like picking oranges from your own tree and having fresh squeezed juice for breakfast. Everything is within walking distance. We can't wait to return!! Becky and Jay Trullinger, Portland, OR

Casa Caprichio is a lovely, charming place that provided us with all the amenities of home for our week-long visit to Santa Barbara. The orange tree in the yard was a bonus and we had fresh juice every day! We walked to the beach, shopping and restaurants, enjoying the morning mist and afternoon sunshine. The local people are absolutely lovely--we made some very dear friends! Thank you, Bobbie, this is a place to which we will definitely return.

06/28/2002Spring, Trevor, Elle and Jamie KigenThe first Santa Barbara experience for one of our party and a homecoming for a Santa Barbara native in our group. The “casa”—its charm and location added to a wonderful week of sun, sand, swimming, surfing, running along the beach, getting together with friends and family, shopping, relaxing and just enjoying the beauty surrounding us. A week was too short!

01/05/1998—03/01/1998Bob & Laura ColvinHad great January. Had lots of rain in February, but this was due to “El Nino”. Normally February has excellent weather. This is a very cozy and convenient place to stay. Recommended Brophy’s in the harbor, the Palace for a fun night of New Orleans style music and food. Also, Joe’s Café on State Street has great food and generous drinks. The best Italian food is Piatti’s in Montecito. Recommend Glen Annie Golf Club and Alisal River Course.
