I stayed in this villa to spend a week visiting with relatives who were also staying at Island Club. The villa is roomy and comfortable for two, would be a bit cramped for more people. The property at Island Club is ideal for people who want a nice beach/tennis vacation. We have been vacationing here for 30 years, and hope to be back for 30 more! I would recommend this villa to couples. My only disappointments were that I got no cellphone coverage when IN the villa, and I rented a first floor villa so I would not have to deal with steps, having recently had knee replacement surgery. I was assured there were no steps, but you WILL have to negotiate 5 - 6 steps to get from the car to the front door. Other than those two minor things, I enjoyed my stay here and would certainly rent this villa again.

Recommended for:Age 55+, romantic getaway.

A Wonderful Week at Unit 143, Island Club

I first came to Hilton Head in the late 70's and Marvin and I starting coming in the early 90's. We always have enjoyed Island Club so very much. It's typically laid back and relaxing, with great amenities, a quick walk to the beach and a highly responsive professional property management team. We loved this villa. Not only has it been wonderfully updated throughout, but it literally has every possible item and appointment that we, as guests, could ever imagine needing. No small detail has been left undone in making this a gracious and beautiful villa. The ground floor patio is a wonderful place to look out over the lagoon and the nearby trees shade the patio from the west sun. A outdoor gas grill was a 20-second walk from our villa and we cooked out every night. Island Club is about 5 miles from Harbour Town and Coligny and really close to Shelter Cove, a vibrant gathering spot with great restaurants. The beachfront at Island Club is broad and generous and we never had an uncomfortably crowded experience there all week. The beaches to the north and south can get very crowded. The listing description on this villa accurately portrayed it regarding location, appearance and amenties. It was spotless when we checked in and obviously well cared for. Owners were very responsible and helpful and we would recommend it and will recommend it to others. We loved going to Hudson's which is a landmark seafood restaurant on the north end of the island, a day trip to Beaufort -- and lunch at Panini's (the crab salad there is absolutely great) --- should not be missed and a visit to Coligny is very fun and upbeat. We've always loved Shelter Cove and ate lunch at Parrot Cove one day. It's an excellent spot for a family lunch - very kid friendly! Thanks so much for the wonderful week - Marvin & Margot

Bonjour! We loved our stay in your "pied-a-terre". It is well designed and we have everything we need...almost...It was the coldest two weeks that Hilton Head ever experienced! And we were here! We have been visiting Hilton Head for a number of years, but this visit was special. We love your villa! Our daughter and son-in-law told us how great the place was and we agree. It was like visiting home. P.S. It was fun watching it snow in Ohio via The Weather Channel while the sun was shining here.

Pat and I would like to thank you for providing such a wonderful villa for a week's getaway. It's so comfortable, clean and has lots of room. The location is ideal - we can watch the ducks swimming in the pond right behind us. Tonight I saw one of the neighbors feeding the little fish which often jumped above the surface. The endless beach, the lighthouse, the Christmas lights on Dove Street, the shops and the weather all chipped in to give us a great holiday. Many thanks...We look forward to a repeat performance next year.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here - walking the beach morning and evening. (Hilton Head is quite different from Gulf beaches - you'd never think of riding a bike there!) We took the Old Town Trolley Tour of Savannah; found the movie at the History Museum very informative. Also appreciated the Fort Pulaski's ranger's talk. She explained about the fort and its history in an interesting way, (glad you suggested it). On our trip to Harbour Town we ran into someone we knew from Ohio! Mostly we just enjoyed relaxing and reading from your stash of books. Oh, and your lovely condo looks like a pro decorated it. Thank you for a memorable week!

Thanks so much for allowing us to stay here this week. We love how close this is to the beach. We spent a lot of time at the beach and pool this week. The weather was great! We are already planning our return trip next September. This seems to be the perfect time of year to visit. We were so comfortable here. We don't want to go home tomorrow. Although this was Joe's first stay on the island, I have been coming down for years. I must say this was my most relaxing stay.

We were so fortunate to find your ad on the internet while trying to organize a last-minute vacation. Your condo has been the perfect place for our introduction to Hilton Head. It's beautifully decorated and so nicely kept up. The beach and pool were great. Did some island tourng, a Savannah outing and a visit with John's aunt in Skidway, so we were nicely located. We even reconnected with neighbors from thirty-plus years ago. Thanks for all of the suggestions for island sights and stores. It was a very fun and relaxing week. I loved the apartment! We had a lot of fun. It's a comfy little hut! We really were not in the house because of the beach, which was beautiful, by the way. We had so much fun. We had our cousins in Neptune so it was fun. The house had all we needed, too. We would have liked to buy it. Too bad we have to leave.

The apartment was wonderful! The view of the pond was lovely and the bathroom decorations were so pretty. It was a bit rainy this week so we stayed inside a lot, but it still felt like vacation thanks to the decor. We had a great time. Thanks for sharing with us. Family reunions only count if held here!

I loved the condo. It was very clean and beautiful. The pictures and shells were very nice. The beach was very big and nice! I found a sand dollar and a lot of shells. The bed was very comfortable and the couch was soft. Thanks for the great condo!

Although Hanna and Ike were brewing, we only experienced two days of intermittent rain. The remainder of the days were hot and sunny. We love the ocean and spent our days walking along the beach, collecting shells, swimming and sunning ourselves. We are seniors and like to eat early. We took advantage of and enjoyed our "early bird" dinners at Marley's, Frankie Bones and Juleps. Villa 143 has a well-equipped kitchen, the most comfortable living room furniture and mattress. This year was our 25th year visiting the island and once again we had a wonderful vacation!

We would like to extend our thanks to you foor sharing the beautiful condo that you have provided for such a stress-free week. Honestly, the two of us will never forget this peaceful place. Thanks for hookin' Steve up with this sweet place to stay. Unfortunately we were for the side effects of Tropical Storm Fay. No biggie though, we just spent time in this cozy nook of yours. The beginning of our vacation was wonderful! For the first two or three days we pretty much lived on the beach. ( I love how close it is!) Steve had the pleasure of meeting a jelly fish up close and personal - yes, he got stung. I found a bunch of sand dollars, all ranging in sizes. I thought that was pretty cool considering I spent 6 weeks in Florida this summer and couldn't find one. Anyways, thanks for the awesome condo. We hope to return someday. Everything was wonderful!

We loved staying in your condo this week. It was perfect for Mom & Dad. Even though we rented a condo for ourselves too, we spent most of our time here in yours. We really enjoyed planying tennis every morning and riding our bikes to IHOP for breakfast and Guiseppe's for lunch. Riding home at night from putt-putt was the most exciting. Your condo accomodated all six of us at mealtime, which was awesome! And you had a blender so we could make our favorite yogurt smoothies. So close to the beach, the pool, the courts and the beautiful lagoon. Thanks for a great vacation! We'll be back!

My wife and I and our two young girls have just spent a most wonderful and memorable week at your villa. It really was a home away from home. We reside in Brooklyn, NY. This time here is definitely going into our record books. Both girls loved the pool and sea and have started to learn to swim. With our hectic lifestyle in NYC, this time gave us time to reconnect and get much closer to each other. Thank you for the most comfortable accomodations.
