This Palm Springs Mid-century Palmer/Kriesel designed butterfly roof home by George Alexander in one of Palm Springs first Mid-Century Modern neighborhoods called Racquet Club Estates has been lovingly restored and gently updated. The open floor plan features concrete floors, high vaulted ceilings with clerestory windows and glass sliders overlooking the new kidney shaped saltwater pool with a tanning shelf and attached jacuzzi/spa that seats 8 adults. It is important to note that we are a full 1,000 square feet larger than the traditional Alexander home because we enclosed the breezeway which added onto our kitchen and dining room and extended our master bedroom and bathroom. You will marvel at the dramatic mountain views from this spectacular 11,000 sq ft lot and understand why we call this little piece of paradise "RENDEVOUS LOU". As you enter the house through the foyer, you will be impressed by the floor to ceiling piece of art that leads you into the "great room". The home's concrete floors are softened in the living room by a large cream shag rug with furnishings designed by Futurama of Los Angeles. The bedrooms are complemented by desert hued low pile carpeting. All the living room seating faces the original block fireplace which is commanded by a stunning commissioned piece of art we call "LOU", who has become our mascot. His image repeats in various spots throughout the property. You will also enjoy our funky collection of blue 50's Blenko Glassware.
To the right of the great room, is our sparkling formal dining room table for 6 designed in the 70's completely out of lucite and glass. It's a real showpiece. The entertainment "vibe" continues with our open kitchen boasting granite counter tops with mosaic glass tile back-splashes and floating cabinets. A large mobile island faces the kitchen's overhead HDTV flat screen where you can sit on stylish but comfortable cream leather bar stools to watch a great sport event or just keep the chef in the family company. The kitchen is complete with stainless steel appliances, a full line of Cuisinart-blender -juicer-coffee maker, a Nespresso machine and all the cooking utensils needed for any gourmet. You will also find complete place settings for 8 in both plastic for outdoor dining and ceramic and glass for indoor dining all complemented by vintage starburst patterned flatware.
The first bedroom is furnished with a platform queen bed mattress purchased specifically for fibromialgia sufferers and it's incredibly comfortable for all. This room includes an overhead cable flat screen TV, 70's Italian travertine marble tables with vintage Murano lamps and a fur throw and bed tray to add a little panache. Just come on in and drop your luggage on the Jonathan Adler bench.
The smallest bedroom, again with a bed tray and fur throw, hosts Case Study sofas that become twin beds along with a fabulous Panton 60s Bubble mirror, a flat screen TV, a kitschy Arne Jacobsen chair and the biggest lamp you've ever seen! Check out the closet where we have board games stored for all to use.
The Master bedroom features a floor to ceiling white leather headboard which flanks a king-size platform bed facing the large flat screen tv/dvd with surround sound. There is an en-suite bathroom with a shower big enough for two and a walk in closet. The master also features a chaise lounge sitting and office area(with a fax/printer)that will lead you out through sliders to the putting green. Once you step outside, you may want to walk toward the fruit trees and sit by the raised ledge gas fire pit where jet flames dance over a bed of turquoise crushed glass and enjoy the mountain views or get your putter out and start practicing.
Back in the great room, the first view outdoors is of the stunning new heated kidney shaped salt water pool with a large built-in tanning ledge and 8 person jacuzzi spa with waterfall. Next to the pool, is the coolest CABANA with its white marble bar counter, 4 vintage barstools, a small fridge and running water sinks; should you feel like playing bartender. The mirrored walls reflect back the beauty of the pool and the retro lamps all add to the swinging 60's ambiance. Following a dip in the pool, you can use our designer "hot water" outdoor shower to rinse off. This private desert environment also includes other varied locations for dining and lounging with repeated seating for 6 people along with movable umbrellas that slip into their ready-made concrete sleeves. This seating includes vintage Tropitone sun-loungers, Saarinen dining tables with vintage dining chairs, two aqua upholstered love seats, Brown and Jordan strap chairs to use as you prefer and an upholstered vintage lounger for two nestled under a small palm tree grove with unique "rock" and glass side tables.
The completely private resort style back yard, enclosed by a stylish aluminum privacy wall, is bordered by channels of tumbled river rock that reflect the colors of the home and the desert environment. So, sip your martini while BBQing on the stainless steel grill as your guests float in the saltwater pool or take a jacuzzi in the spa with its cascading waterfall all the while marveling at the stunning view of the San Jacinto Mountains. Truly a tropical paradise
We also offer our first class concierge service by Robert Egan who will set up pre-arrival arrangements include certain foods and flowers already here awaiting you, child care, in-house spa treatment, transportation, event planning, reservations, golf tee times, computer assistance, staffing, errand running, grocery service, catering or a private chef and the list goes on. Just let us know in advance so we can prepare.

- It is important to note that we are a 2,200 square foot Alexander which is 1,000 square feet larger than the traditional Alexander home. Our "breezeway" was enclosed to enlarge the kitchen/dining room area and the master bedroom and bathroom were extended in a luxurious fashion.
