Relax in this historic turn of the century Century North Fork farmhouse with large mature garden and semi-private sugar sand beach, surrounded on two sides by beautiful vineyards. Located in Southold, on the East End of Long Island, New York. Only 2 hours from Manhattan, 90 minutes from JFK and 45 minutes from Slip, but a world apart.
The perfect location to explore Long Island's Wine Country and enjoy a beach holiday at the same time. Accommodates 6 to 8 people comfortably, with 4 bedrooms, 1 full bath and 2 half baths, one en suite with the master bedroom. A fully equipped farmhouse kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, filter coffee maker, blender, toaster and plenty of pots and pans, dishes, glasses and cooking utensils etc. The kitchen leads through to an open plan dining room and living room, with a dining table that seats 6 people comfortably. The kitchen also leads to the rear garden through a "mud room", which has a washer and tumble dryer, also a separate half bath (lavatory and basin).
In addition to the Master Suite with half bath, there are 3 additional bedrooms, one with queen size bed, and beautiful hand painted, vintage paintings of tall ships. The other two bedrooms each have two twin (single) beds. In addition there is a small sitting room. The family bathroom has a bathtub with overhead shower, lavatory and sink.
An additional half bathroom is located in the master bedroom suite and another on the ground floor (lavatory and sink). Each bedroom has a dresser, closet with hanging space and plenty of space for guests to read and relax in privacy. All bedrooms are stocked with 100% cotton linens and towels, and duvets for cooler seasons.

- Air Conditioning: Central Air Conditioning on the second floor serves all bedrooms and hallway. Open plan first floor with triple aspect windows provide cool breezes in summer, plus additional fans are provided.
- Washer: New appliance 2007.
- Dryer: New appliance 2006.
- Linens Provided: 100% cotton linens and towels, plus duvets for cooler seasons. Duvet covers are freshly laundered on each changeover. Bathroom and beach towels also supplied for maximum 8 persons.
- Off Street Parking: Parking is no problem! This is a quiet residential area with no parking restrictions in the street and space for up to 4 cars in the driveway.
- Parking for RV/Boat/Trailer: Ample parking for boat and trailer. RV not permitted if the purpose is to exceed occupancy limits for the house!
- Wood Fireplace: Wood available for fireplace on request.
- Beds
- Queen Bed: Master bedroom suite and one of the guest bedrooms have one queen bed in each room
- Twin/Single Bed: Two guest bedrooms each have two twin beds each.
- Crib: Graco Pack 'N Play Travel cot. We encourage Moms/Mums to bring their own bedding for infants, but can supply if required. Stair gates and high chair are also available free of charge on request.
- Entertainment
- Cable/Satellite TV: Optimum online basic family package on the TV in the living room. Minimum 120 channels, including local news. DVD library with small selection of movies.

- Video Library: We have provided a small selection of childrens videos for the TV in an upstairs study/sitting. This second TV is not connected to cable (deliberately), so parents have greater control over what their children are watching. In addition, we provide a selection of DVDs for the player in the living room.

- Full Kitchen: This farmhouse kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of dishes, glasses, pots and pans. All the usual small appliances, including microwave, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, etc.

- Other Amenities
- Part of, but separate from one of the premier vineyard estates on the North Fork. Close to the tasting room, where you may taste wines and purchase fresh eggs and related farm produce grown on the property. In August, the vineyard usually shows "Movies By the Bay" every Thursday evening on the lawn by the open bay, where you can relax with a glass of wine and picnic while watching a movie and star gazing. Magic! This venue is a short stroll away, but not close enough for you to hear anything should you not wish to attend. This house also benefits from an outdoor shower.

We've all had a wonderful time here on the North Fork. This home is really beautiful, and the yard and grounds....and the beach were all so wonderful. It's unbelievable to step out onto the back porch for breakfast, and look across the vineyards. Or to peak through the gate toward the beach, surrounded by so much peace and quiet. The private beach is beyond words. Our daughters (9 & 6) really enjoyed the mini-train ride on the north edge of Greenport, as well as the carousel there, right on Rte 25. They also were thrilled with the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium in Riverhead. It's a top notch facility with great exhibits. And we ate well while we were here too. Because we couldn't eat out much (with our 1 yr old twins), most of our meals were cooked right here - lots of grilling, fresh vegetables (incredible corn) from local farms, and great clams and scallops and flouder from Brauns Seafood Market (about 15 minutes west on 25, south side of the road). Their take-out meals were great too, but a long wait - much better to phone ahead. The weather has been excellent too (even if very hot). It will be tough to leave tomorrow, but we must get back to reality....after a final dip in the bay. Looking forward to some Old Field wines in the Fall. Hope to see you again.

We had the most wonderful time in The Old Bay Home here in Southold. We simply felt at home and were so lucky with the weather. Una and Aima did their little drawings for your guest book, Lulu and Terra will do the next ones when we all come again, hopefully! Nick was very happy here too, cooking for his family and we all thank you very much for a perfect holiday.

We have had a great holiday! Some rain, but also beautiful sunny days, then we enjoyed the beautiful beach. We have visited New York 2 times and loved it, also Greenport is great! Fire Island is very beautiful. BBQ meals were lovely, so we really had a great time. Thanks so much!

Such a beautiful house in a wonderful location. We've had a relaxing week and have drunk plenty of local wine. Matilda's highlights (age 2yrs) were the beach and the carousel at Greenport. Our relatives from New Jersey who visited whilst we were here would like to come back for a week next summer, they really loved it too. Thanks, we really enjoyed this part of our honeymoon.
