We just left Heels in the Sand last weekend and already want to plan our trip back. The house was perfect for us all. We had 9 adults and 4 kids, age 5, 18 month twins and celebrated a first birthday in the house - we couldn't have asked for better location or accommodations. All of the beds were comfortable and we were never bored. Every room even has a flat screen TV! We cooked in most nights and had more than enough kitchen supplies to work for all 13 of us! The golf cart was priceless for short trips to the store or beach. Steve was fantastic for our entire experiences and so quick to respond. My 5 year old left her favorite stuffed dog at the house by accident and Steve was able to mail it back to us right away. If your looking for a place to stay in Myrtle Beach - this house has everything!!!!

We were a group of 11 people and spent 2 beautiful weeks at the house. We had plenty of room and we did not feel crowded even in the kitchen. The kids & teens were super happy with the game room as well as the pool that kept them busy. I was amazed they did not say "I'm bored" once in the 2 weeks. Steve was always available right away if we needed something. I would definitely recommend to anyone to rent this house. Thank you for making our vacation fun & stress free.

This house is amazing and I could not have been more pleased with our experience. I was unsure about renting house that I found on the internet without seeing it in person; but Steve (the owner) made us feel comfortable from the start and the entire process went smoothly. We were on a golf trip with 12 guys and there was more than enough space for everyone to spread out and not feel cramped.

We stayed in this house July 2010 for the first time. It is a beautiful house, with plenty of space for everyone. We had 3 families with 4 children under the age of 6. We could have fit another family comfortably! We were very pleased with all of the amenities. The bedrooms are a great size, the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed and the living area has plenty of room for everyone. It was even great to have a high chair for our littlest one! We enjoyed the game room and the pool very much. I would say though that the pool was quite warm, but that is expected in hot July weather. It was great to have a golf cart to help get to the beach and to run to the store. The house is very clean and well maintained. The only thing I wish we could have had was a swifter wet jet! We had lots of little feet running around, with one crawling and we like to keep the floors clean! It is tough with all of the dirt and sand that gets tracked in. This was our 1st trip to North Myrtle Beach. We all had a great time and definitely plan to come back some day! There is so much to do for everyone. Great golf courses, restaurants, mini-golf, outlet shopping, and we really enjoyed Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing. The owner is very nice and helpful. He answered questions promptly, and returned the security deposit right away. We would highly recommend this house and this location! Thanks for a great week!

Wonderful place for a great family vacation

We stayed at this property the week of June 5. We actually booked at the very last minute after cancelling our plans to go to Destin because of the oil forecast. Fortunately, the owner had just opened up the property for that week after having originally held it for his use. The house is fantastic. It is bigger and nicer than the pictures would show. The description also under-states the actual bedding available in the rooms, as there are 1-2 beds in each of the 5 bedrooms. There are 4 balconies, 2 on each level, with the ones in back facing the pool. The pool is a very nice size for the property. Having a private pool for just the 2 units in this house is great. The whole property was very clean and well maintained. The owners were very helpful and extremely responsive, responding to most emails within a couple of hours at most. The security deposit was returned in full within a week after our return. The house is located about 2-1/2 blocks from the beach. Having a golf cart is very nice, as it helps for carrying things to the beach (and for going to places locally). The location is great. North Myrtle beach is relatively quiet, but lots of restaurants and other things are nearby. All in all, this was a great trip, and we would definitely come back!

My family stayed in July 2009 for the first time. The house is great. The pool is wonderful. The kids were able to entertain themselves in the game room, which was really great. The house is very roomy and clean. I look forward to vacationing here again. We are working on making a reservation for 2010. I think it would be great if there was an ice maker for packing the coolers for the beach.

This house (and owner) could not have been any better! Everything was just as it was stated on the web-site. We have been doing a combined family vacation for 17 years and it is very rare to find a house that suites everyone - but this one did. Our ages range from 7 to 71 with no complaints. The home was spotless when we arrived with everything in good working order. The golf car is great for getting to the beach with chairs and coolers, also great for a run to the store :) Thanks for a wonderful week!

We just returned from a fabuolous week and hope to book again for next year. This house has everything you need for fun and relaxation. We had 7 children with us under 10 and they were never bored. We all loved having a pool. The 17th street beach also has a beach volleyball net, which was a lot of fun. Highly recommended!

Our family stayed in Unit 1 of this house the week of June 20-27, 2009. The house was immaculate and had plenty of room for our grandson to roam. The house and its amenities were very well thought out. Including the heated pool and the outdoor showers and bathroom. Our older children really enjoyed the game room and hung out there in the evenings. There were plenty of attractions to visit. We managed to make our way down to Boardwalk on the Beach to catch some free fireworks and took a dolphin sightseeing tour on the Seascreamer in North Myrtle Beach. The golf cart was extremely helpful for hauling all the beach equipment down to the beach and in the evenings we would use the cart to take our grandson down a few blocks for ice cream. It was a really great place. Our family will definitely stay there again and we highly recommend it.

This was my family's second year vacationing in this house. We were one of the first ones to stay in June of 2008, and I can say that the house looked almost as new this June as it did then! Not only is the house big enough to sleep lots of people, but the living room/kitchen area is ideal for the whole group to have space to spend time together. The only drawback is that with all wood floors and small children, the sound really carries. (However, we do understand the need for this with all of the sand....) We had 4 children under 5, and no difficulties walking to the beach just 2 blocks away. The outdoor shower and bathroom are also great for the kids. We also felt like we were close enough to drive to all of the popular shopping and restaurants, as well as shows like the Dixie Stampede. The owner has been easy to contact and quick to reply, but I would say to make sure you have the dates you want to stay in the house double checked- we did have some trouble with thinking we could have one week and then it was already booked. In the end, the situation was resolved and we truly enjoyed a second week of vacation in this house. We hope to schedule a third year in a row soon!

Best House in North Myrtle Beach

This was the most an amazing house in North Myrtle. Clean, great furniture, great appliances, so many rooms and bathrooms, and an awesome heated swiming pool. It is everything you want and more. The pictures show it all. I wish we never had to leave. Very Highly Recommended!

We just returned from a week long stay - and can't be happier with the location and house. The house is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Beautiful wood floors, fully stocked kitchen - had everything we needed for cooking etc. We had 5 teenagers and 7 adults and no one was bored! The kids walked to the putt putt golf on the corner a couple times which was convienient. The location is great it was very nice to have the golf cart vs carrying chairs etc to the beach. Still not a long walk but the cart made it much better for running back and forth. I suggest taking a right out of the driveway and using the 16th street public access vs 17th street. Both are ok but we preferred the beach at 16th street.

Great house, very clean and kitchen well stocked with everything you need for cooking. We had 5 teenagers and 7 adults and there was never a time when anyone was bored. Minature golf around the corner, close enough for the kids to walk to in the evening. We had a great week. Will for sure go back again in the future.

We just returned from our stay at this beautiful house and I'm wishing I was still there. The house looks great in the pictures but is WAY better in person. Besides the beautiful decoration and style of the house, the size and layout more than accomodated our group of 15 which included 4 families and lots of kids. The bedroom/bathroom set-up worked out perfectly for us and provided everyone their own space and privacy. The great room was big enough for cooking, dining, and relaxing for everyone. The kitchen was well-stocked with plenty of cups, dishes, utensils, etc. The pool was perfect! I was a little skeptical of the size especially sharing with the family next door, but there was plenty of room (and lounge chairs) for all of us. The outdoor shower made clean up after the beach a breeze. And the golf cart made getting to the beach (and the conveniece store) so easy. However, the beach is close enough for an easy walk which we did do several times. I've stayed in Myrtle Beach many times, but never North Myrtle Beach. I really enjoyed the location - not as busy and crowded (especially the beach), but close enough for a quick drive to all the attractions. Overall, this house couldn't be better. Every detail has been thought of for accomodating large groups. We've already talked about which week we want to book for next year! Cant' wait to stay in this house again!

This place was wonderful and beautiful! We were located walking distance away from the beach, but it was sooo convenient to have the golf cart for taking the toddlers to the beach and for cruising the neighborhood stores. The house was perfectly sized for our 5 small families--big enough to give everyone a little space to move and the little ones to run. We had everything we needed in the house to have a comfortable stay, including cribs and highchairs for 2 toddlers. Everything in the house worked great, including the washer and dryer, outdoor shower, and all the appliances. Having a pool right in the backyard was great and at this time of the year, it was still warm even without heating it. We would definitely come back here if we decide to make another family trek to North Myrtle Beach. Thanks for having such a great place!

Captain Jack's was a dream come true. We're first time visitors to the beach house and Myrtle Beach. Little did we know that we were in a perfect location, close to everything yet far enough away. This house is everything and more...the pictures don't do it justice. You have no problem feeling right at home. The pool was plenty big for our whole group plus some. The porches were fantastic and the rooms were all decorated nicely. We had perfect weather however I'm sure the game room would be great in the inclement weather. We never heard anyone through the walls and really felt like it was a single family detached home. We used the outdoor shower each time we came from the beach and it was great. The golf cart was nice too, but really the beach is so close you don't even need it. When we did use it we took a right out of the drive and the first right, straight to the beach. People parked behind the pool of the hotel. Just a little hint if you're going to use the cart. Also, if you are arriving late on Saturday, as we did, the grocery stores are all packed and almost empty. A little planning will easily take care of that. We had one small maintenance issue and contacted the owner. He took care of it instantly. We cannot say enough about this beautiful home. Hopefully we'll have the opportunity to return next year.

My family had a wonderful vacation at Captain Jack's. This was the best beach house we have ever rented. The golf cart was a plus for getting to the beach, and we loved having a private pool! The house was equiped with everything you need, just bring your swimsuit and groceries and you are set!! Thanks for a great vacation!

We were very pleased with the house and the location. It's only a two short blocks to the beach. The beach itself was much cleaner here than the location further south where we have stayed in the past. The home is very clean and spacious and the furniture is comfortable. The master bath is great. The kitchen is wonderful and there is plenty of seating for a large family. We used this house for a family reunion with all our kids and grandchildren and there was plenty of room for us to be together and the different levels and balconies provided space for those who wanted some time alone. The pool is a decent size and there are chairs for lounging. My only negatives are: there was no hand soap available in any of the bathrooms or the kitchen (remember to bring some with you). Although dish washing liquid and dishwasher detergent are provided, there was no dishcloth or sponge to clean pots and pans. As a result some of the kitchen pots and bowls were dirty when I took them out of the cabinets to prepare a meal. We went out and bought a scrubber sponge and left it for the next user. Only two thin dish towels and one roll of paper towels were provided for a family of 12 for a week, and no trash bags, even though you are required to take all your trash to dumpsters in the area. Also, depending on the size of your group and how much you want to cook, the pots and pans there are too few and not large enough to make a meal for a big family. If you want to prepare a large meal, you'll probably need to bring some large pots, baking sheets, etc. The utensils, though brand new, were very flimsy. There were plenty of plates, glasses and silverware. The only other comment I have to make about the property is that the listing makes it seem like it's one house, but it's actually a duplex that shares the pool facility. When you view the photo, 1/2 the house is what you'll be renting. You should be aware that you could be sharing the whole pool area with another very large group. The people who were on the other side while we were there were very nice. We couldn't hear them talking through the walls, but you could hear them going up and down the stairs, kids running on the floors, etc. It could be an issue if you're sharing with a noisy group. I would definitely recommend this facility for families and we'd stay there again. It's further away from the rowdier section of Myrtle Beach and there is plenty of shopping, entertainment, etc. nearby.

Hand soap and laundry detergent are not provided and renters are informed of this at the time of initial rental and in the online listing. There should have been two to three trash bags in each trash can in all of the rooms and baths as that is what the clean up crew has instructions to do and I personally have inspected numerous times. If this was not the case for your week I would have appreciated a phone call on my toll free number to rectify any problem as the clean up crew is close by. We only put in one roll of paper towels as a courtesy for the renters in case of an immediate spill or need, but that is not an amenity listed or included with the rental. The pot scubber pads and additional pots and pans are a good idea which we will take care of immediately, but if you lightly rinse in the sink and wash the stainless steel pots fairly soon after cooking in the dishwasher on the heavy cycle I would assume they should be fairly clean. The utensils we purchased were done so with the idea of replacing each year. These two houses when we bought them were considered two attached homes because of there size being 3350 sq feet each side. You could also call them a duplex, and each renter has been personally described this situation and of sharing the pool by myself at the time of their rental. We only rent to families and try to keep similar groups in both units for the same week. Thanks for your comments and hope to see you again !

Great place to take a family. Lots of room. Everything new and spacious. Location close to shopping, beach and food. The beach is just a short walk, but we rented the golf cart and it made it even better. Quite area. Kid friendly- they loved the air hockey and the pool. (Even sharing was not a problem) Everything we expected and more. Owner is very friendly and helpful he made our stay great. Loved the kitchen, beds were comfy and we will be back soon. I recommend this property to anyone you can't go wrong. Thanks for everything and helping us have a great vacation. John and Jennifer
