Wooded Serenity & Short Walk to Lake Michigan

Delightful Stay.

We stayed in this property as a family during the Christmas week, for a period of 5 days. My grand daughter (5 year old) who has stayed in this property a few times earlier, was so happy to come back here. The place is kept spotlessly clean. The carpets, the towels, the sheets are all kept immaculately neat and clean. Plenty of music CD's, movies and games (for kids) are in store for entertainment. The place give you the feeling of being very secure. The air-condition in the property is very good. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials. Lots of utensils available in the kitchen for a comfortable stay. The house is equipped with a good instruction manual, just in case of need! The house is situated among so much of woods, it is absolutely picture perfect! The best part of the lake is under 5 minutes walk from the property. We are so glad, my son-in-law and daughter took us to this property for one of the most memorable holiday.

Its a little late but I had intended to write this before! We had a wonderful time here. It was exactly as pictured, beautiful setting, quiet and comfortable. You felt like you were in a lovely home in the middle of the forest. The sleeping/reading nook loft was a real hit with my daughter! The accommodations were very nice, the home was perfectly clean, great beds, linens, kitchen...everything you could need! Douglas and Suagatuck as a short hop away as well as a great brewery/ restaurant in Fennville. We frequently took a very short drive to the public beach (really nice, restrooms etc) as would would spend the day The walk to the beach was fine for a few hours, sunsets etc ... Its one of the best rentals Ive been in.

My family of four enjoyed our stay at Serenity Ridge. It was clean, well equipped, and super relaxing. The beach was a very short drive and we liked the more rural feel of the location. We plan on booking again next summer!

Description True to its Word

We stayed at Sweet Serenity for 8 days and could not have had a more lovely time. This is a clean, simple yet tastefully and lovingly decorated home with nice bedding, sheets and towels. The owners of this home have thought of so many small yet meaningful touches to make being in their home (this is not a string of rental properties) a very nurturing experience. You really do feel like you are in a tree house and the top floor offers more views and a fun place for children to sleep or for adults to take a quiet moment with a book. This home truly is secluded, too, which was important to us. During our stay the leaves were just emerging and from one angle there was a glimpse of another building, which I am sure disappeared as the leaves filled out. The decor is so peaceful and nature-oriented (lots of stones from happy beach walks). Walking to the beach is a short and pretty walk and getting into Saugatuck or Douglas is easy. If you need a quiet place to relax, recharge and nurture yourselves you could not do better than Sweet Serenity.

Serenity Happened!

Serenity Ridge was the perfect place for our long weekend. A senior couple with two twentysomethings, we had a great family time in this great place. Besides being well furnished it's in a great location. Our daytime treks included Saugatuck/Douglas, Fennville, South Haven, Oval Beach and, of course, the shore of Lake Michigan for the sunsets. (Wish I could post a sunset photo here.) There was a small issue with the electric power to the gas stove/oven but we were able to light it with the matches found in a drawer. The property manager showed up shortly after we got there to deliver a propane cylinder for the grill. Would have been nicer had he come earlier to clean off the decks. (The deck around the grill was slippery when wet.) MUST SEE: Chicken Scratch Farm just south of the house (5-10 min walk) on 120th Ave. Here you can buy fresh eggs, asparagus, rhubarb and baked goods. On the other extreme there's a Super Walmart at Exit 20 (South Haven). Our best meal out was at Salt of the Earth in downtown Fennville. If you think you are fit, try climbing the 282 steps to the top of Mt. Baldhead, where the radar tower is - across the river from Saugatuck. The view of the town is worth it. Sure glad we found Serenity Ridge! P.S. Weather was perfect but our timing was a little early, seems many activities, like the chain ferry and boat rides, are closed until Memorial Day weekend.

Serenity Indeed!!!

Date of Stay: 05/05/10 Review Submitted: 05/24/10

My wife and our four year old thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 3 nights here. This is a beautiful property in a "zen-like" setting. Towering trees and quiet / natural area. The house is well kept, clean and spacious with wide windows. The property is not "on the water" but its a very short walk and we found the best of both worlds here. And there is no wireless internet but it was good to de-tox from the web / email and enjoy a good book / movie stocked here. The iPhones did work very well though. We found the owner easy to work with ..... we are calling the owner again (after 2 weeks of our return) to head back here next week.

We had a wonderful stay - very relaxing and as advertised, serene. Visited almost daily by deer and even a wild turkey. Nice accomodations and we made ourselves right at home. Loved the fire pit and the deck. Wonderful views in every window and a grest location for trips to all the nearby towns. It was everything we hoped it would be.

We have rented Serenity Ridge for the past four years. We have come to think of it as our refuge. The setting is so peaceful and the unique house so nicely appointed and cared for. The fact that it is well off the road makes for a feeling of total seclusion and retreat, with only a short walk to the lake for wonderful beach walking and hanging out!

We had a terrific time staying at Serenity Ridge. We really did feel like we were living in a tree house. It's a wonderful place to stay if you want to spend time relaxing. The rooms are a little bigger than they look in the pictures, especially the living room. We also found it be be very clean. Being close to Saugatuck, Douglas and South Haven made it a great location for us.
