Perfect location on St. Simons Island for your family or small group vacation. Our cottage is walking distance to many of the islands treasures. It is one block off the beach and a short walk to town (on the beach at low-tide) where there is abundant shopping, restaurants, the lighthouse, miniature golf, a fabulous playground for the kids.
With four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, your family and friends will have plenty of space to call their own. The master bedroom has a remote controlled gas fireplace and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. One bedroom is secluded upstairs with an alcove with an additional twin bed. Nine can sleep in beds while the living room sofa can be used as an additional bed.
The kitchen is a gourmet kitchen complete with professional grade GE Monogram range with 6 burners, a grill, and two ovens. The kitchen and family room overlook a private courtyard with a heated swimming pool and hot tub. The courtyard also has a tree house. A two story widow's walk tops the house. From the very top, you can get a glimpse of the sea.
There are 2 queens, 1 double and 3 twins plus a twin daybed for bedtime.

My family has been trying to rent this house for years based on the looks and the location but it was always booked for the weeks that we could travel but we finally got lucky and booked it for the week of July 18 2011. Please disregard the unnecessary two star review from “Sara” complaining about minor issues like bed size and decay because she is way off. No house on the beach is going to be without a little wear that close to the ocean. This place is absolutely amazing. The pool and the Jacuzzi were awesome and perfect for all us. We had no issues with bugs and everyone said that the beds were great. The ONLY one issue that we seemed to have was the one person who had to sleep in the day bed nook one the second floor. That room really does not get the cool air from the air condition system although there is a fan that will cool the room a little at night once it cools at night. The living room is very spacious and the kitchen is awesome if you have a cook in the family. We had an problem with the pool getting a little cloudy but we called the realty company and the pool people were there in no time adding some chemicals and getting the pool looking great. If you are renting this house my advice is when you get to the house claim the second floor bedroom with the in wall cooling unit because that room stays nice and cool. Slept like a baby in there. Overall this place is amazing and you won’t be disappointed.

We picked this house because of the charm in the pictures. When we got there we saw that the owners played close attention to detail in all the things they did to the house when it was up dated.Wonderful antique doors,stained glass windows,nice charming bathrooms with cork floors.The hot tub was nice after we figured out the trick to keep it working.The kitchen is very nice also.The only changes I would make if I were trying to make it more comfortable for most people would be to change the full size bed in one of the rooms to a queen and the queen in the master to a king size.It would be nice if the bunk room had a shower and not just a tub. I would reccomend the house but not sure I could come again because of the full size bed for our family needs.It close to the beach and to the village for walking and if it fits your family it was great.

My family of 9 (two children) found this house beautiful. However were ever so disappointed to find 2 of the 3 described "queen" beds to be full size beds. Sleeping together was close..Also we did not enjoy watching, hunting and killing bugs. The outside of the house has some decay on the siding as you walk up to it. The pool is very small. I tried to address and advise the Property Manager Desire'e Varnedoe of the same and was belittled and dismissed in my opinion. Again the house is very pretty, laid out well, and a short walk to the beach.
Owner response: We have had many families stay in the home and found the beds to be comfortable. We believe them to be queen size beds but will actually measure them just to be sure we are advertising on our site correctly. We have the house exterminated regularly. It is summer in Georgia and therefore bugs can be more active. While the guest was in the house, she chose not to inform the realty company that there was an issue with bugs. Had she done so, we would have been more than happy to have the exterminator come out and address the issue. On our site at vrbo, there is a photo of the pool and hot tub. Given the size of the hot tub in the photo, it is more than clear that this is a dipping pool and not a full size pool. Before the guest arrived, she expressly asked the size of the pool, was told it was small and given the dimensions. Our cottage is sided in wood and it is very near the beach. Weather does take it's toll. We are aware that there is some repair work that needs to be done to the front of the house. It is a very small area and not a safety issue. Therefore, we are scheduling the work to be done when there are no guests in the house. I am sure no one wants repairmen working on the house during their vacation. Any issues the guests had were brought to the realty company's attention after the guests had returned home. We were not given the opportunity to address them while they were in the home. Had we known, we would have done whatever we could to make their stay more enjoyable.

This home is awesome. The location is absolutely choice. The house is right down the street from Demere Rd. which has nearly everything you would need. Also on the other side of Ocean Blvd there are several excellent restaurants. F.Y.I. The Salt Water Cowboy is great! The beach is a block behind the house and the pier is right down the street next to even more shops and great restaurants. The pool area is lovely with plenty of space to lounge and relax, the jacuzzi is very spacious, and the home decor is ultra beachy, the kitchen is fully equipped, the sound system in the living room was great and last but certainly not least... the observation deck is like having your own posh tree house! I can't say enough about this wonderful home! We will be back next year.

This house is wonderful. It is very beachy with plenty of comfortable space. I adore the beadboard, floors and range. Beach & town are very close. The whole family enjoyed the weekend. Would stay here again!!!

This house offers it all. We stayed here in Spring 08 with four adults and two kids. There was more than enough space. My parents took the upstairs suite and we, along with the kids, took the main floor. The house is VERY spacious. I love the kitchen and the fact that you can easily watch the activity in the pool and at the front door as you cook a meal. The master suite is fabulous. The remote starter on the fireplace and whirlpool tub are a terrific bonus to already very comfortable quarters. I don't want to say too many other good things because we plan to return and want there to be full availability!!

A great cottage with so much character! Everything about the property says "beach." The soaking pool in the back was perfect for our family with three little (under the age of 5) girls and the hot tub was lovely (although finicky to get to work). This really is close to the beach - in the evening the beach is about 1 1/2 blocks, and when the tide is up, you just have to walk down another 2 blocks to the beach. It was close to everything and we really appreciated the Internet access and menu book to find places to eat. Great kitchen, we loved the decks, and the outdoor shower was really, really useful. I would recommend this property for a family with no more than three adult couples and three children because the bathrooms can only be accessed through bedrooms (or through the nook upstairs, but the bathroom door is glass into the bedroom - so it's not private). I ended up on the couch and had to tip-toe through a bedroom to use the bathroom. The only things I would advise other tenants on is that you have to bring your own dish soap and laundry soap if you need to wash dishes or clothes, and if you're staying for a week (like we did) you may also want to buy toilet paper. Otherwise, a great cottage and I would definitely recommend it to my friends if they ever go to St Simons Island.

What a wonderfully authentic beach home! I love the ambiance created by the color scheme and use of accent colors and fabrics. Everything I could have wanted was close at hand. The master suite & public areas were oh so comfortable and accommodating. Even in January the heated spa under a starry night was devine. We also enjoyed the uber gourment kitchen while preparing locally caught seafood. Thanks for allowing us to share your home and we will be back. Marion L. and family from Dauphin Island.
