This lovely new vacation home is located just 7 miles west of West Yellowstone, MT, the gateway to Yellowstone National Park. It is set in a meadow bordering Gallatin National Forest. This restful spot could be your next Rocky Mountain vacation adventure!
Elk Crossing features a 1700 square-foot floor plan, with an attached two car garage with ample additional parking space. The home sleeps up to 8 with three bedrooms: a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a second bedroom with a queen bed, a third bedroom with two twin beds, and a queen-size sofa sleeper in the Great Room. There are two full baths: the roomy master bathroom has a jetted whirlpool tub and a large titled walk-in shower room with a 12" rain forest showerhead, and the second bath has a full shower/tub combination.
The spacious Great Room offers a knotty pine cathedral ceiling with a cozy rock front gas fireplace. It flows into the country-size kitchen featuring a 6 foot bar with seating, which makes the perfect setting for entertaining, cooking, dining or just relaxing. The dining area has a large dining table with seating for eight, and is surrounded by large windows framing unforgettable mountain views. All the furnishing are new tastefully coordinated. The large back deck is perfect for barbecuing as you bask in the spectacular views of Lionhead's Peak and the surrounding mountains of the Continental Divide.
The West Yellowstone area offers fun for the whole family including Yellowstone Historic Center, antique shops, the Grizzly Discovery Center, the Imax Theater featuring daily showings. Available during the summer months, the Museum of the Yellowstone and the famous Playmill Theater offer fun-filled recreation for kids as well as adults.
Elk Crossing is only 10 minutes from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park! Choose a guided tour of Yellowstone National Park or you can experience this natural wonder on your own schedule. There is plenty to do: world-class fly-fishing, hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, white water rafting, kayaking, bird and wildlife viewing, boating, water skiing, shopping and sightseeing, just to name a few. Fifty miles north to Big Sky, MT, the best of Rocky Mountain downhill skiing is offered at two different resorts: Big Sky and Moonlight Basin.

This house is perfect, great decor, clean; cozy, close to town and park entrance. We are so comfortable here, we want to stay forever! This a.m. while fixing coffee we saw two large deer right out the side window. Yellowstone is truly a national treasure.

Susan, once again we really enjoyed our stay at Elk Crossing...two years in a row. Your home provides comfort, warmth and the perfect base for our Yellowstone vacation. We did it all! Fly fishing with Madison River Outfitters, River Rafting with Montana White Water, Zip lining, and sight seeing throughout the Park. We did a great 7 mile hike on the Fairy Loop--some beautiful views of meadows and mountains. Yellowstone is one of our favorite locations for a vacation and we love your home. We appreciate all of the amenities and the use of your home. Enjoyed Yellowstone and Quake Lake. We were excited to see a grizzly with her two cubs up close in the Park and then to see a yearling moose at Quake Lake. Enjoyed town and all of the people were very nice and friendly.

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us! We had a fabulous time visiting the Wolf & Grizzly Discovery Center in town. Visiting Yellowstone was absolutely an amazing experience from the Hot Springs to the Bald Eagles, Bison, and Grizzly Bears. We had a great time in Yellowstone seeing bears, wolves, bison, elk, and moose. Fishing in the Firehole was wonderful, and the weather was perfect. One night we went to the "Bar N Ranch" for dinner after a long day in the Park. Excellent food, service, and view. Thank you so much!

May 27 - June 3, 2011 We arrived to your home in snowy weather. Upon opening the door, we were welcomed into beautiful and comfortable surroundings. We certainly enjoyed our stay here. You certainly thought of everything in the kitchenware department. Beef stew from the crockpot certainly tasted great after a day of hiking. Yellowstone was a perfect park for hiking and animal watching. Although some of the trails we had initially chosen were inaccessible due to snow. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. This was a perfect family vacation. The kids loved playing in the snow. We thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour on snow mobiles to Old Faithful. We enoyed being so close to town. We spent many days walking through all the shops. My kids really like the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. Wewere amazed at how friendly and helpful everyone has been. We enjoyed the beautiful drive around Quake Lake. You have an amazing place here and we can't wait to come back.
