The owners Frank and Sandy Godzik welcome you to their site. We have a "2008 Summer GAS Special" due to the high cost of gas for vacationers. The Sunset Cabin has been reduced 20% from $140/night to $112/night to help defray your cost of gas. The Sweetpea Cabin and Dogwood Cabin have both been reduced by 10%.(expires 01/01/09)
Come visit our charming peaceful area of "Stoney Creek Farm" which has 3 cabins which are available for your vacaton. The red covered bridge leads you across our creek, past the waterfall, then up to one of the cabins to be "down home on the farm" for a while. You will over look beautiful farmland and grazing horses from your decks.
We are only a mile from the beautiful Rumbling Bald Resort amenities. We are members and you can visit there as our guests. You will be near 3 mountain golf courses and Lake Lure boat rentals.
Two rustic cabins and a new log cabin have full kitchens, linens provided, Dish-TV, DVD player, fireplaces and have old fashion charm. A new offering is our Mount Dora Cottage and you may call for specifics.
The just built "Sunset Log Cabin" (1100 sq ft) has a wood/gas burning fireplace, central air/heat, new stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, washer/dryer,and has a private bedroom with a queen bed, and a loft with 3 twin beds. Couches can sleep 3 more. It has large windows for a beautiful mountain view.
Also choose from the charming two bedroom "Dogwood"(900 sq ft), with 2 queen bedrooms and 2 single sofabeds in the living area. The smaller "Sweetpea" (800 sq ft), is located just behind the farmhouse and has an upstairs dorm with 5 single beds and a cute pub decor. Each cabin has a deck, gas BBQ grill, laundry area and quality linens. A hot tub is on the farmhouse patio for your enjoyment. The pond or creek is a place for kids to safely float on inner tubes provided. We also have a canoe you may take out on Lake Lure.
We have bikes for children and hiking trails on our 15 acres, We have farm pets, like Tessie our cow and our 5 little goats. They all love to be hand fed. When you come, please help yourself to the fresh eggs from the chicken coop for your breakfast. By request, we can make a welcome basket of homemade goodies for a small fee.
Nearby you can enjoy tube riding on the Rocky Broad River, boat cruises on Lake Lure or horseback riding, all with-in a few miles. Asheville, skiing, and the Biltmore Estate are about an hour's drive. Only a 15 minute drive brings you into Chimney Rock Park for hiking, little country shops, and Lake Lure's Beach and Water Park.
If you want to just hang out at your cabin and relax, then we have lots of movies and books for you to borrow. Children loves to play horseshoes, croquet or badminton on the lawn for an old fashioned vacation. We have a little creek where you can sit and splash and pan for gems, gather blackberries in the summer, or just relax by an outdoor fire on cool nights. We have ample patio funiture to enjoy picnics and the sunset. All cabins have views of the horses grazing on the hill for a truely relaxing time at the farm.
We also welcome your pets in some of the cabins with reasonable rates and a summer discount in 2008. Hope to see you soon. We'll make some lemonade and leave the light on for you.
