We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was absolutely charming, and the views were stunning. It was far enough away from town to feel like we were really in the mountains, but close enough to go in and go shopping and get groceries. And the owners were great to work with.

We returned last night from spending the week at this cabin. It was in a beautiful spot. So far from others and very relaxing. The road trip to the cabin was quite an adventure but the kids loved the bouncing around in the car. The deck is a wonderful place to spend your early mornings and late evenings with a fire in the fire pit and roasting of marshmallows. We used the loft with a blow up mattress for our boys and they thought that was cool. It was nice and cool up the mountain as the temps down below were very very warm and humid. Everything we needed in the cabin from the appliances to the hair dryer in the bathroom. Nathan and Jennifer were very helpful in planning and answering questions about the best places to purchase items. Was a very fun family vacation and we got to see a couple of fox as well as have a visitor get into our trash can every night. It was a nice adventure for us.

We spent a wonderful week at Cold Mountain Cabin in July 2010. We've rented numerous cabins in the North Carolina and Tennessee mountains over the years, but never one this nice. It was immaculate and so well appointed. The layout makes great use of the space, and it was very comfortable. The pictures do not do it justice. The kitchen is amazing: both beautiful and well-equipped. We generally eat lunch out and cook dinner in, and it was nice to be in a kitchen where I could accomplish whatever I wanted to cook very easily. Also, I appreciated that Nathan and Jennifer make a full spice rack and some basic supplies available for guests. We happened to visit during a heat wave, and the two window AC units cooled the entire cabin very efficiently. Although the cabin is at first appears to be quite a distance from Waynesville, it's not really that far, and Nathan's directions for the country roads are spot-on. We really enjoyed Waynesville, visiting the Main Street shops and restaurants. We happened to be at the cabin during the week that work was being done on the road up the mountain. Fortunately, Nathan warned us about the road work, and I'm sure when it is finished, it will be an easier approach. The 3-point turn into the driveway listed in the description isn't a big deal, but you do need to be prepared to go UP the steep mountain road. But believe me, it's worth it!

We recently stayed at the Cold Mountain cabin (June 6 - 10, 2009) and had a wonderful time. Nathan is very friendly and helpful and refunded our deposit almost immediately upon our departure. The area and views are fantastic and the location is perfect for those wanting to check out Looking Glass Falls, the Devil's Courthouse, hike the many trails, or take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Cabin itself is very clean and maintained and really, how can you beat waking up to the sound of birds and a nearby waterfall?! We will be staying at the Cold Mountain cabin on our next visit to the Pisgah Forest area. It was perfect for a family vacation.

We stayed at this wonderful, relaxing cabin during the Thanksgiving week 2008. The cabin is absolutely immaculate both inside & out. The views are breathtaking and the owners, Nathan and Jennifer, super people. Nathan & Jennifer made our stay most enjoyable and were so, so helpful and accommodating when we ran into a little snag our first day there. They went out of their way to help us. They also surprised us with a complimentary turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner which we appreciated very much. We cooked most of our meals in the "gourmet" kitchen and took every opportunity to sit out on the deck and enjoy the views during the day and the million stars at night. Renting this cabin is a must!!! We hope to be back every year.

My wife and I took a chance and decided to make a last minute weekend trip to see the foliage. A call to the cabin owner was returned within the hour, and fortunately a last minute cancellation had opened up the calendar for our stay. The owner, Nathan, could not have been more accommodating in making the arrangements to reserve it for us, and 25 hours later, my wife and I were on the open deck of the cabin enjoying the wonderful mountain air. We were only able to stay for two evenings, but the trip was wonderful. Most economy hotels were charging a good bit more per evening during this time of the year and we had a gorgeous cabin to ourselves for considerably less. No lying in bed hoping the others in the hotel room next door turn down their TV when at this cabin! The easy access, the privacy and the cleanliness of the cabin all added to our enjoyment. The view is wonderful, and unlike other private rentals we have rented, this view would be wonderful any time of the year, even with full leaves in bloom. Many other cabin rentals may show a view during winter when all the leaves have fallen, but only offer limited view during the other seasons. The cabin had all the amenities we needed, was meticulously clean and has a huge wide open deck wrapped around three sides of the home. We visited the Apple Harvest festival in Waynesville 10 minutes away and had a wonderful time. Breakfast in a local restaurant that morning… 4-5 hours visiting the crafts, food booths and stores on town… a few hours enjoying the foliage... all followed by a fantastic steak at Bogart’s Restaurant in town. We then returned to the warmth, comfort and privacy of the cabin. Life does not get much better. Highly recommended!

Cold Mountain Cabin was everything we wanted and more. It was secluded yet close to surrounding towns and the setting of the cabin was just so relaxing and inviting. The overall setup of the cabin had a mix of rustic charm with modern appliances and needs. Nathan and Jennifer were an absolute pleasure dealing with and were extremely helpful. We will definitely be returning in the future!

We just returned to Florida after a relaxing week at Cold Mountain Cabin. We enjoyed our stay immensely!! The cabin is very clean & "homey". It was so nice to come back to after a busy day of hiking & sightseeing. We enjoyed several "home-cooked" meals out on the deck. What an awesome view! Evenings were spent outside until dark, then relaxing indoors playing Yahtzee or watching a movie. It truly was "quality time" with my husband & "tween" age daughter. We will remember this as a special trip & plan to return again. Thanks to the owner for a wonderful time!!

We can't say enough about this rental. The area was just beautiful. We live near the ocean, so the mts. were a great change- sitting by the fire every night and every morning was a treat! The Owners were very helpful, and thankfully answered many questions for us about what to see and do. The "cabin" (this isn't the same kind of place you stayed at CAMP!) was so completely furnished, and VERY clean. The pictures on the website almost underserve how fantastic this rental is. We went hiking, had a massage, and spent the rest of our time just enjoying the huge deck and fire. The grill was a great bonus! We've stayed in a lot of private vacation rentals, and I can honestly say I've never felt I got more for my money than at this one. We have a 9mo old who also seemed to really enjoy herself- so dont be shy to bring a baby! The place is totally top-notch, high-end, and very welcoming and warm all at the same time. We only wish the ocean and the mts were closer so we could go back again very soon!

We would definately recommend this property to others! The host was very accomodating and a pleasure to make arrangements with. The cabin itself has wonderful architectural details, and the new kitchen made for some great meals. Beautiful views of the mountains from the deck. An ideal getaway to relax in the mountains!

Cold Mountain Cabin was a wonderful home away from home. It was a great base for all of the activities we enjoyed in the area. Everything was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. It was great making our meals and sitting on the deck to eat them. We made s'mores under the stars...just amazing. The view was spectacular without another cabin in site. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone vacationing in the Waynesville area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cold Mountain Cabin. It was wonderful to have a very comfortable place to come back to after a day of hiking and exploring. We also really liked that after a day out we could come back and relax on the beautiful deck while the kids ran around and used up the energy they had left. The cabin itself was very clean and extremely comfortable to stay at. The kitchen is really beautiful and has absolutly everything in it that you may think you would need. We enjoyed not having to go out to eat for all of our meals and it was more relaxing to have a place that felt more home like to stay in than staying in a hotel. Our kids are 5 and 7 and they really enjoyed exploring around the house and even tried climbing up the mountain. We had a wonderful time and would stay at Cold Mountain Cabin again in a heartbeat.

What an absolutely fantastic experience! The owner had a pot of gourmet coffee brewed and a roaring fire to greet us. The house is immaculate and has most every thing you would want. There is a really top-notch grocery store in town and the kitchen is so beautiful we cooked several more meals than we had planned. If you are not used to well water, be sure to stop and get some extra bottled water. The owner provided water but my young boys didn't understand the distinctive mineral smell to the water and went through a lot of bottled water. The house has a water softner, so if you're not used to soft water, it seems like you can't get the soap off of you when you shower. My boys probably wasted too much water until we explained it to them. The cabin location makes it perfect for traveling to Waynesville and Asheville for shopping, skiing, and touring the Biltmore House. We had a great visit and wished we could have stayed longer. We plan to visit again in the summer. Our only thing we would pass along to first time mountain tourists is to take the drive slowly the last little bit up the hill. We were not used to driving hills but quickly learned to use a lower automatic transmission gear. We never met anyone coming up the gravel road while were going down (and vice versa) or we would have been nervous backing up to one of the cross intersections--the road seems narrow. At night we were nervous. From the deck you can hear the water rushing down the creek. It is very calming. I would think it would be fun to walk in it the summer time. One last thing, there is a private trout fish pond not that far away near a gas station (can't think of the name but if you ask in Waynesville, they will give you the name of the gas station when the owner works and you can call to make sure he's taking pond visitors--no license required). We took our boys there and the owner provides the bait and poles. You pay for what you catch (I think $4.99 lb). It was a real confidence builder for my kids. We let them catch two fish each. We paid the pond owner $2.00 for each fish to clean them for us. He puts them in a bag of ice so you could do more site seeing before you head back home. The owner and the workers in the gas station are really nice. You'll want to look around in the hardware side of the store. We took our fish back to the cabin and grilled them. For two chicken-nugget-eating-kids, they really liked being outdoors on the cabin deck cooking the
