There are spectacular views of high alpine peaks and cliffs in every direction from this 5000 square foot home. This is the perfect location for a family vacation, reunion or retreat. This home is located near the popular Upper Loop hiking and biking trail. Biking and hiking trails onto Crested Butte Mountain also adjoin the property. Ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes of Mt. Crested Butte make this a premier location for skiers. This new home features a hot tub in a private setting, 2 steam baths, 2 fireplaces, gourmet kitchen and five decks, which provides visual splendor in every season. The home most comfortably accommodates 18 people (see below).

NEW LUXURY HOME IN PRESTIGIOUS LOCATION
The home was completed in 2008 and is located within the exclusive "Summit at Mt Crested Butte" development - high on the shoulder of Mt CB. "The Summit" location is enjoyed for its abundant sun, providing much more sun each day than many locations in the Valley. The southwest facing orientation of the home also provides spectacular sunset displays from the elevated front deck.

EXCLUSIVITY AND CONVENIENCE
Guests of my Summit home are treated with exclusivity. Through advance ordering of ski lift tickets and in-home fitting of ski boots through Blacktieskis (at competitive rates - see blacktieskis website for the details), you can ski out the morning after your arrival. You will be able to ski directly onto the ski slopes from the house, each and every morning.

RECREATION/COMMON AREAS
The house is equipped with 4 large flat screen TVs with DVR (TIVO) functions and premium channels. Two TV's have active high definition service. The lowest floor with nicely appointed wet bar includes a sitting area, large media room and a separate recreation room. The media and/or recreation rooms are convertible into additional sleeping areas, as needed.

WiFi is included and direct broadband cable connections are also provided.

GOURMET KITCHEN
The Thurston designed kitchen has granite counter tops with two separate sinks (designed for efficient food preparation for large groups), Viking stove and Thermador refrigerator/freezer--all designed with gourmet cooking in mind.

CUSTOM DESIGN
This home includes custom finishes like a grand entrance foyer, grand staircase, marble bordered hardwood flooring throughout and master tilework in all bathrooms, kitchen, two steamrooms and recreation area.

EASY SKIER ACCESS
Ski access is as simple as walking across the street a short distance (200 yards) to the groomed access trail, clicking in and skiing downhill to the bottom of the West Wall lift (accessing the entire mountain from there). Returning home is equally easy--all downhill from the top of the West Wall lift area.

SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS:
The Master Suite has a private bathroom, steam shower, Jacuzzi tub and a private balcony (Queen bed - sleeps 2);

The Junior Master Suite has a private bathroom, jetted tub and private balcony (Queen bed - sleeps 2), Also, a trundle bed can be pulled from beneath the queen bed (Twin bed - sleeps 1);

Bedroom 3 with private patio (Full bed - sleeps 2), also has a pop-up trundle bed (Twin bed - sleeps 1);

Bedroom 4 is a bunk room with 2 sets of bunks (Twin beds - sleeps 4};

Sleeping Area #5 is a small room off the wet bar (Twin bed - sleeps 1);

Sleeping Area #6 is a convertible media room with an innovative murphy bunk bed (sleeps 2) and a full sized murphy bed (sleeps 2).

Sleeping Area #7 is a convertible office space off of the living room with a queen murphy bed (sleeps 2) and a twin sleeper sofa (sleep 1) along with a private balcony;

Other: two rollaway beds (sleeps 2) can be placed anywhere in the large house.

All total the house will most comfortably sleep 18, if the full and queen beds are used by two persons, along with the trundles, then 20 persons are accommodated. If the rollaways are also used, then 22 persons are accommodated, albeit a bit crowded.

FRESH INDOOR AIR GIVES YOU ENERGY (FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO KNOW)
The home has the best fresh air--heat exchange system available today, as custom designed by an award-winning environmental engineer. The EPA says that modern, tightly built homes should ventilate stale indoor air 7 times per day. Few homes do this. Living and skiing, especially as a visitor from sea level, at 9,000 feet in elevation can be taxing to some. Breathing fresh indoor air lets you wake up energetic and ready to tackle the mountain. Fresh air ports diffuse incoming air to all common and bedroom areas, while the efficient in-floor radiant heat quietly maintains consistent temperatures.

Why the Owner Chose Crested Butte

This house was custom built as my dream home. I chose the Summit location because I think it offered the best views available in Crested Butte. Also, as an avid skier, I knew that ski access from "The Summit" is better than other ski access locations, like Gold Link and Prospect, because the West Wall lift almost always begins operation 3 to 4 weeks before those other developments.

The Unique Benefits at this House

I am often personally available to respond to your needs, or maintain and repair my properties. When I'm not available, my properties are managed by Rai Beavers of Intero Property Management. She is an awesome asset to me and my guests as she (and her staff) will respond to any and all of your needs in a timely manner. Other properties listed on VRBO are managed by absentee owners who cannot respond so promptly!

I've lived in the Crested Butte area most of the time since 1981 and am a double graduate of our local Western State College. Being a Professional Geologist has allowed me to travel all over the world as an environmental consultant to industry and an assistant/researcher to a documentary filmmaker. I’ve rarely seen a more beautiful landscape than CB – along with the friendly and eclectic local population; it completes my desire for a connection to landscape and people! I will often stay in one of my Crested Butte homes when I am fortunate enough to enjoy my adopted hometown.

    • This house was beautiful! It had everything you needed. We stayed there with 2 other familes and still had plenty of room for another family. I would definetly recommend this house to anybody going to Crested Butte. If we come back to CB, we will definetly try to stay here again. If you do stay during the winter, make sure you get car with a big engine. The driveway is rather steep and our PT Cruiser wasn't able to make it up the driveway due to all the snow and ice. The other 2 cars made it up fine.
