Fabulous condo!

My husband, 2 children aged 4&6, and my parents stayed in this wonderful condo. The condo is actually better than the listing states. It has updated features, nice laundry and the master bath is huge. And it is close to the pool which the majority of the time we had to ourselves. The few permanent residents that we encountered we're very friendly. There is also a workout room that is sufficient. My husband and I run and the roads have wide shoulders. The Fairmont Orchid is a short walk away and there is beautiful coral beach and petroglyph park just down the street. The grocery store was about 1/2 mile away if at far. We ate out at the Mauna Lani and nearby resorts. The private beach has a wonderful restaurant and beautiful beach and snorkeling. This condo was amazing and for the price we got it for it was absolutely a treat to stay in. We have used VRBO to stay in condos in Florida and Hilton Head and have never been disappointed but it will be very hard to match this condo! It made our trip very memorable

I have been to the Big Island several times, staying at several of the resorts such as the Mauna Kea, Hapuna, Fairmont but this is the first time I've spent my vacation in a Condo there, and I can tell you, after spending a week in this unit at the Fairways at Mauna Lani, I am Hooked! The location was perfect, the Fairways being situated between the Shops at Mauna Lani and The Fairmont Orchid. You could easily walk to either venue and take advantage of grocery shopping at the Foodland Farms there or dinner out at the Fairmont. And all of that Space: It felt like having a home of your own in Hawaii! Loved the "great room" design of the unit with the Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen all together, and the Master Bedroom/Bath is HUGE. Really delightful to take a Jacuzzi bath after a busy day of beachgoing or sightseeing. The Lanai on the Main Level was incredible, with a built-in bbq/wet bar where we enjoyed grilling steaks and fish we purchased locally. As much as I love the many world-class resorts on the Kohala Coast, I don't think I can go back to staying in a Hotel Room after experiencing the space, comfort and convenience of this unit. Truly a great place to spend your vacation.

Best place on the Big Island

We arrived at the Mauna Lani Resort after dark, but had no trouble finding The Fairways and the condo. It is located near the front gate which makes getting in and out a snap. The photos give an accurate impression of the large rooms. The master bedroom and bath are luxurious, complete with a deep jet tub. The pool and jacuzzi are a 2 minute walk from the lanai. We enjoyed preparing several meals with local produce from the nearby farmer's markets and the kitchen appliances and lanai grill are first rate. Having a fully equipped laundry room is such a plus during beach vacations! All the rooms were SPOTLESS upon our arrival. If you've not seen the nearby hotels, you must! The beaches and bars and restaurants are unforgettable. There is also a very well stocked, reasonably priced supermarket and shopping arcade minutes away on foot. Also at the resort is Petroglyph Park with its interesting rock art and yet another stunning beach. Another plus about the Mauna Lani Resort is the fact that the it has a central location to other sights and attractions on the Big Island (and it is BIG). Kona is 30 minutes away with its wonderful coffee farms, Waimea 20 minutes in the other direction. Don't miss breakfast there at the Hawaiin Style Cafe with its giant coconut custard pancakes! From there Hawi is a short drive along the ridge, or head to Hilo on the Saddle Road with its stunning views of Mauna Loa. I would recommend this property to both families with children or adult groups. The value is unbeatable. The owners have made this a comfortable place; clear instructions are provided for everything. We're eager to return!

wonderful area and condo

Although our stay was short I highly recommend this condo. Island and Beach rentals were also great to work with. We had a personal issue and they went out of their way to accomodate us. But getting back to this condo, it is in a fantastic area, close to the pool, neighbors are great and we truly loved the condo

Wonderful home in a great resort complex

Our family of four simply loved this home. The home is very elegant and it is tastefully decorated. The lanai was so inviting we ate all of our meals there. The two bikes were a welcome surprise and my husband and I loved exploring the complex on them. My daughter loved the Fairmount Orchid beach which was a 10 minute walk away. A couple of highlights of this beach were seeing a turtle while we were swimming and having snow cones brought to your towel.

This townhome offers the best of everything...it has what everyone else here boasts of and more! I've had the pleasure of staying here a couple of times and each visit just gets better. From the perfect location to the incredible ammenities, I can't think of another place I would rather stay on the big island!

Beautiful townhome. Our family of 6 was spaciously accommodated in luxury. This particular condo has a lanai that opens directly to the pool area which is great for families with young children. The Mauna Lani Fairways complex is the best location on the Big Island. Adjacent to the Fairmont Orchid and walking distance to Starbucks and a great grocery store with organic produce and a fresh fish market. The owners allow access to lots of great beach gear (a beach chair and bogey board for everyone). This is the best place for a family anywhere! We would give our highest recommendation and definitely plan on returning.

Wonderful Place! Conveniently located in the Mauna Lani complex in the heart of the Kohala Coast. We (family of 9; 4 adults, 5 kids) spent Christmas of '08 and New Years of '09 here. This Town Home has it all. Literally minutes (walking or driving) from Beaches, Grocery Store and Golf. The Home is like a 5 star resort; granite counters, tile, upgraded appliances, ceiling fans, A/C, Patio with BBQ, beautiful grounds, Resort type pool, etc... The owners were a pleasure to deal with. EXTREMELY helpful / accommodating and made the transaction simple and professional. They also let you use all their beach gear; Towels, beach mats, backpack beach chairs, snorkle equip., toys for the kids, cooler, etc... This is a significant benefit and could save you hundreds of dollars. When we return to the Big Island, we will stay here again. Too much value to pass up. If you're still looking, look no further. This is the place!

We have stayed her for the past two years and we love it. It is a very clean, comfortable home with our family of 6. The Mauna Lani beach is equipped with lounge chairs, a restaurant, ocean activities, and great snorkeling.

We stayed here recently for 10 days, and had a wonderful time. The Condo is beautiful and very comfortable. Great garden views, with open patio and BBQ. Fully equipped with everything you might need. The pool and spa are beautiful, with several beaches close by. We did a lot of snorkeling,sun bathing and whale watching.Terrific golf at the Mauna Lani north and south coarses. The restaurants and shopping are the best. We would recommend this property and the area highly. The Harrington's
