Herbert and Kathy's cabin is truly a perfect piece of paradise! Even with rain for part of our stay...it didn't ruin the fun we had at the cabin, creek, and the firepit! The interior of the cabin is beautiful decorated with Herbert's wood crafting skills and Kathy's painting talent. We've rented many cabins, but have not had one that had to many extras available to tenants as this one did. We had a bonfire every night with s'mores and even roasted hot dogs and ate by the creek one night. We fished on the creek at the cabin as well as other creeks in the area. For those with motorcycles...YES...you can get in and out of the long driveway. We hauled our trailer with our motorcycle and there is plenty of space to park it as they have two parking areas. It rained the first three days of our week stay, and we still were able to get our Harley up the long hill to the main road. Main thing...drive slow and if you are an experienced rider..shouldn't be any problem. We rode the Tail of the Dragon, Moonshine 28, and Cherohala Skyway one full day and come back to grill out by the creek and have our bonfire! Only problem we found was....we did NOT want to leave...seriously! We've gone to many cabins and relaxed etc, but this one truly felt like home. If you are thinking of renting, this is a great place...we will be back! Herbert is so helpful with answering the many questions we had on fishing in the area, bringing our Harley to ride etc. Feel like we've made some new friends with Herbert and Kathy.

I've rented a few cabins in the area that claim to be secluded, yet there's a cabin right across the street. That is not the case at yellow creek cabin. Not only can you not see any neighbors, but we didn't hear or see anyone while we were there. The creek and cabin were both beautiful and Herb's pictures reflect that very well. Yes, the driveway is steep leading down to the cabin, but nothing my bike or my wife's chrysler 300 (4,000 lb rear wheel drive car) couldn't navigate. We stopped at Ingles and bought some of their sweet tea. The stuff was horrible! No problem, the cabin came with sugar, tea bags and two pitchers, which was a nice touch and we replaced what we used. I made a short video of the ride up to the paved road. Vrbo doesn't allow links in reviews, so anyone worried about the driveway can search youtube for mooosestang and click on my channel. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us.

We returned Monday, last week from our annual Labor day vacation, and this place was everything we had hoped for and more! The cabin is very well kept, the beds are comfy and the cabin is very clean. Unlike a lot of places we’ve visited, they also had a fully stocked kitchen with every thing you need for cooking. My husband and son had a great time fishing in the creek, and the surrounding lakes. I myself, being an armature photographer filled my days with non stop picture taking. If we could visit this cabin every weekend we would, we’re already planning our trip for next year. Do yourself a favor and visit, you wont be sorry! :)

I know the highest rating is a 5, but this place truly should rate a 10. My husband and I spent an entire week at Yellow Creek Cabin. I had never used VRBO, but after hours and hours of reviewing properties we decided on the Yellow Creek Cabin because of the pictures, description and most importantly the reviews of the property from other people who had previously visited the cabin. The (upscale) cabin was everything descriped and more! It was beautiful, extremely well maintained, CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, great premimum beds and the decor was gorgeous and so many wonderful custom details! The covered porch is relaxing to sit on and watch the butterflies, singing birds and meandering creek - if you love nature, fishing, hiking, quietness, relaxation, this place is for you. If you like tons of shopping, city life, nightlife, this place isn't for you. And remember REMOTE means REMOTE....LOL!! We enjoyed our evenings around the firepit next to the creek - it really was heaven. The closet town is approximately 12-15 miles away - it is also DRY COUNTY,so BYOB if you like a cold beer or glass of wine. Couple great local Mom and Pop restaurants in town that were good! Smokey Mountain National Park was great! The owners could not have been nicer or more accomodating - they called to see if we arrived, they suggested local sites to see, etc. Very very nice people. I will say that the owners directions should be followed to a "T" - if he saids one mile, he really means ONE MILE - we had slight trouble finding the driveway upon arrival, if we had checked the mileage as per his exact directions we wouldn' t have had any problems. Can't say enough great things about this place. Really a special place - we hope to return! You will NOT be disappointed!

We love this cabin! We have stayed twice (once in July 2008, and again in August 2010) and loved each moment we were there. We have three boys ages 12, 7, & 2 and they had a blast playing in the creek, exploring through the woods, playing board games, roasting marshmallows, and just watching the fire in the firepit. This is the perfect cabin to just relax and get in touch with each other again.

Very relaxing and great for families. Centrally located to a lot of different activities and the cabin was immaculately clean. Owner was very helpful with rental and with local information. We already have our list for the next trip!

Two couples of us stayed in the cabin for two days. Certainly it is too short of staying in such a nice cabin in the woods. The location is very convenient to Lake Fontana and Lake Santeetlah. The cabin is well built and taken care of. The owner paid a lot of attention to details, which make our stay more convenient. Very thing we needed was there, well organized and clean. The decoration in the cabin is in the theme of bear and fishing. Watch out for the stuffed bear in the living room. It looks so lively that startled two ladies in our party. I will surely recommend it to anyone who wants a quite vacation in very cozy cabin close to nature.

*WOW* we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to stay, the cabin was clean and had all the comforts of home, we felt right away at ease. The kids had a wonderful time hiking and playing in the creek, along with telling stories around the campfire at nite. We loved the location, private ,yet easy access to town and area attractions. Thank you Herbert and Kathy for making our stay from start to finish everything we imagined and more, especially for the blessing of time away from fast lane of everyday life to connect with family! We definitely will be back and will tell everyone about our stay!! _Scott and Pam -Middlefield Ohio

We had the pleasure of staying here for an entire week. Every description of this cabin on VRBO is entirely accurate, as a matter of fact, it is an understatement. This place was wonderful. The cabin itself is great, and kept up so well. There are so many "personal touches" here, with the pictures on the walls, to the hand drawn maps of the area - giving some points of interest we may have missed otherwise. The stream (Yellow Creek) was full of trout, with a fire pit in the perfect spot for those well known Smores right by the water. The wildflowers were in full bloom. And there was so much to see and do in the area, that we will HAVE to go back because there wasnt enough time in the week. Including, hiking the AT that is just four miles down the road from the cabin. Although, the cabin and its setting is enough just to stay put for an entire day (or even more) immediately relieving all of that everyday stress of the outside world - to read a book and listen to the birds and the river. A definate two thumbs up. Thank you!!!

I can only say good things about the cabin and location. The cabin was even better than the pictures and the creek was so soothing.. The cabin at Yellow Creek has everything you could need from fishing poles to firewood. Very comfortable!! If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere, then you will find it there at the Yellow Creek Cabin. The owner's were wonderful and we hope to return in the near future.

This cabin is beautiful inside and out and has every convenience. The owners are very nice to work with. However, the 'lane' to get to the cabin is a nightmare for bikers. There were two or three washed out areas coming straight down a hill which make it pretty much impossible for two riders to be on the bike without fear of dumping it. And no my guy isn't a wimp, he's a very strong body builder. After riding down the hill when we arrived on Saturday night around 7 p.m., we quickly decided that I would walk up & down the hill rest of our trip. This was frustrating for my boyfriend and scary for me when we got in late at night. Had the drive been nicer, I would have rated this stay 'excellent.'
Owner response:Response to review "Not for Motorcyclists" I tell my motorcycle guest that if they are on a big bike they should be experienced. They should approach the hill on gravel drive with caution. Extra passengers may need to walk up and down hill. After heavy rains I try to correct washed area as soon as possible. We have had return motorcycle guest. Thanks: the Owner

The vacation at Yellow Creek cabin was great. The cabin is extremely clean and well kept and beautifully decorated. Everything was just as stated in the description. We felt at home the moment we arrived. Use of the creek and campfire was much fun with nice views. Their is a lot of outdoor activities: fishing in Yellow Creek or other creeks/rivers/lakes nearby, hiking (we went on several trails including the AT), the Dragons Tail, Cades Cove, Cherokee Reservation, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, and the Great Smoky National Park, only to name a few (we did them all in a weeks time). Yellow Creek Cabin is a gem in an isolated mountain region, we hope to come back soon.

The cabin at Yellow Creek was full of charm and detail. It was decorated beautifully and everything was there with us in mind. Being able to step out to the creek was wonderful and very peaceful. The kids had fun in the creek and we enjoyed going to the Smokey Mountains to hike. We would recommend this cabin very highly. We loved it and plan to go again.

What a sweet little cabin. We loved it! We always try to pick a creekside cabin and this one fit the bill perfectly! I enjoyed listening to the creek at night sitting out on the porch and the fire pit right next to the water was a joy! Hope to come back again to see the fall leaves. Thanks for letting us stay.
