The location and views of this property are magnificent. The rental was easy and professional, though the price is a little steep and the cleaning fee is ridiculous. You pay for location. The bikes were worthless. But you can walk right out onto the Strand. You can sleep with the sliding doors open and hear the waves crashing all night. The hot tub is wonderful and the front patio with the bar top is also a great place to snack, watch the beach and see the people. The parking is difficult. A very narrow entry. You cannot make it with a large vehicle.

Owner response:We are happy Daniel had an overall positive stay with us. To our knowledge, our cleaning fee is in line with standard cleaning fees (and cost for such service) in the area. The cleaning fee ensures that our property will be spotlessly clean for the next renter. We recently used the bicycles, and they worked just fine. However, we will check on them, and if they are need of repair or replacement, we will do so. So many guests thank us for the bicycles, so we want to make sure they are in adequate condition for all! Also, it is true that the initial section of the driveway is narrow, but I have personally driven a Cadillac Escalade in and out of the parking space multiple times without trouble. If one plans to come with a larger vehicle, just please be sure to take your time and enter the driveway carefully, especially the first time.

Great Stay!! Owners/agent were very responsible and accomidating. The house is exactly as it looks online with amazing views of the ocean. Very comfortable with all the amenities. The main patio is great for a leisurely breakfast or to watch the sunset. Will definitely consider a repeat visit.

Great stay at The Strand House in Manhattan Beach!

Excellent vacation rental in Manhattan Beach! The location is perfect as it is directly on the strand and oceanfront. Good size bedrooms and a great outside deck looking at the ocean with a hot tub, breakfast counter and grill as well. Shawn the property manager was very responsive and a pleasure to rent from. Great trip to MB, will return again!

A fun family and friends gathering to celebrate Hella & Herb's 50th Wedding Anniversary as well as Herb's 81st Birthday. An incentive for them to fly here all the way from Switzerland, to the place they once called home. We walked on the beach and truly enjoyed the beach house. Might have to do this again every year : )

Beautiful weather, beautiful views, so much to do and see. All convenient from here. We had a wonderful family vacation with our teen and young adult children. We enjoyed people watching on the strand each day, watching the surfers from our beds each morning and snapping pics of the gorgeous sunsets each night. We take many special memories with us. Relaxing Beach Home with Gorgeous Ocean Views

Our vacation and stay at this home was wonderful and memorable. The home was very clean and had gorgeous views of the ocean. The kitchen was stocked with all the needed cooking gadgets (plates, pans, etc) and there was a convenience store within walking distance. From the kitchen sink, patio and dining room we enjoyed gorgeous ocean views. At night we were close enough to the ocean to hear the waves crashing which was very relaxing. Sitting on the patio was fun and we did a lot of people watching on the boardwalk and beach. The beach was clean and not very crowded. The beds and bedding were very comfortable which was important as I was pregnant. This was a perfect home for our family to vacation at(we have two young children). We will for sure return to this vacation home for more fun and relaxation.

Thank you for sharing your beach-front home with us. We woke up to see many surfers hitting the waves before changing into their work clothes - wow what a way to start the day! We rode your bikes all the way to the end of the strand (south) just past Redondo beach and back yesterday, and today we rode to Venice and Santa Monica. There isn't anything much better than California weather and riding bikes along the beach so far! Hearing the waves, seeing the beach and watching the people and their dogs. There is never a dull moment. Everyone was grabbing their cell phones and cameras for pictures of the beautiful sunset. It's awesome how this house has so many windows to enjoy the views from not one, but 2 bedrooms (thank for getting blinds!), the Kitchen, den and Kitchen table. We love the fluffy white towels, a big plus. (Don't let anyone ever use clorox on them- it makes them stiff/hard.) Our family often gets 2 bedrooms at resorts, but found a house on the beach brings us together more in the den and porch. We've saved money having breakfast and some of our meals here. With views of the beach from 2 sides of the kitchen, being in the kitchen is no problem! : ) ... for either preparation or cleanup. We've enjoyed the beach view from the kitchen table during our meals and games of scrabble and card games... while listening to the sound of the waves. We slept with the sliding glass doors cracked to listen to the ocean while we slept. We hate to leave this wonderful place - The Browns from San Antonio, TX P.S. Being a flight attendant with American has enabled our family to go on lots of vacations. Our teenage children ranked this vacation as one of their favorites. We rented 2 bikes in Hermosa Beach so our family could bike ride together on the strand - Our daughter even brought her roller blades from home to try on the strand. Thanks for the wonderful memories.

I spent a long weekend at this house with my wife and 2 kids, my brother and father. The house is very nice and in a great location. There is only one parking space. We had 2 cars parked there and I received a call directly from the owner of the house. Before I could even speak and instead of asking me how I was doing and how I liked the house he immediately began lecturing and almost yelling at me to move the car. Not a good first impression. The cable and internet did not work while I was there. We were extremely disappointed because these were priorities for us when we were looking to book. The manager never got back to me about fixing it while we were there. Also, they claim to have surround sound speakers. They did but the speakers were not even hooked up. The manager is very flaky. She gave us welcome letter with an emergency number to call if there were any problems. Upon check in, my wife could not access the lockbox with the key. She called the manager's emergency number and no one answered. A message was left which was never returned. Luckily we were able to unjam the lock box and access the key. In my opinion, there are probably better options on Manhattan Beach than this one. Although the house is nice, you shouldn't have to put up with poor customer service with the amount of options out there.
