Five miles to the south of Capehaven is Oswald State Park a popular surfing spot, and few more miles south of Oswald State park is the quaint beach town of Manzanita.

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1990
This property was purchased in 1990 and until 2005 we had a little beach house we used and rented(some of our past renters may remember it). In 2005 the "little" house was "retired" and now "Capehaven" has taken its place. Capehaven was designed taking advantage of the 15 years experience at the beach, taking into consideration the seasonal weather patterns, and of course the available views of the beach and the nearby hills to the east. Bob "retired" from the big aerospace company in Seattle in Jan 2006. Sue is a "retired" school administrator who also hasn't figured out that retirement doesn't mean continuing to work as a consultant.
When you stay at Capehaven, you will find that we both have a creative side and take pride in creating a warm and inviting and tasteful environment where ever we live. That's no exception for the beach house. Sue simply can't help herself from not wanting to constantly change it up and keep the house fresh and tastefully decorated. As our guests you will get to enjoy the results of our passion.
Why the Owner Chose Cannon Beach
We always loved coming down to Cannon Beach, however the crowds there have gotten to be a bit much in the summer. We discovered Arch Cape over 20 years ago and it is still the undiscovered gem of the Oregon Coast. It has a unspoiled natural beauty that is hard to match. It is so nice to be able to run into Cannon Beach take in the art and shops and then come back to the serenity and raw beauty that the Arch Cape community and beaches offer.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Capehaven was designed to take advantage of all the available views. There is the breakfast deck on the east side of the house where you can enjoy your morning coffee with the sun coming up over the beautiful hills to the east. The covered ocean view north deck on the west side of house allows you to BBQ and dine outside rain or shine with a wind protection from the south, or there's ocean view sun deck on the southwest side that has wind protection from the prevailing summer breeze. During the cooler months, you will enjoy the radiant heated floors which are throughout the house, and the cozy gas fireplace in the living room. The beach is literally a stones throw away and there is an easy path to beach. There is a large covered lower deck in the back with outside warm & cold water so that you can hose the kids down after an afternoon on the beach. For those who are looking for a romantic getaway, the lighting was designed to allow you to set the perfect mood, and then there's the built in sound system throughout the upstairs to complete the setting.
New in 2011- Hot Tub with pergola, connecting decks to the existing large covered back deck, makes hot tubing fun rain or shine. A new fire pit is just 3 steps down from the hot tub deck making the back yard new oasis for just hanging out!

Capehaven is the BEST vacation rental we have ever experienced, by far, and one of many. The view and the sound of the ocean were really amazing, and the house itself met every one of our extremely high expectations. The creature comforts are many; the bed was most comfortable, the kitchen had every imaginable amenity, the decorating was delightful, and the walks on the beach were romantic. Additionally, arrangements with the owners were made professionally and efficiently; all questions were answered, and every detail attended to. We will definitely be back, and we will be telling our friends and relatives about Capehaven at Arch Cape!! Thank you so much!

Capehaven is a magical, warm and cozy home. Gorgeous - both inside and out, well beyond our expectations from the photos and reviews. One of our favorite areas was the view from the kitchen and we spent much time gazing out the windows in the late afternoon. We found the house extremely spacious for six adults with plenty of space to lounge and find comfort. The house was sparkling clean. There were many elements of surprise that provided the comfort of home - including a decorated Christmas tree!, flip flops at the door to borrow, and wireless internet to name a few. It was the perfect home to share our post-holiday retreat with our closest friends. We hope to return to Capehaven again someday soon. Thanks again Bob and Sue!

Had a short notice weekend at the beach for a friend's birthday. The owners were lovely and very accommodating on short notice. The house was beautiful, lots of decks, amazing views, very comfortable all around! We had a great time and I look forward to returning

Our time at Capehaven was nothing short of perfect. The house was easy to find, yet secluded enough to where all you could hear was the ocean waves crashing. This place easily fit 6 adults and was roomy enough to where we didn't feel crammed in at all. The home itself was beautiful. It was beautifully furnished, clean and came with everything we needed. With the exception of going out and walking along the beach in the morning and the afternoon, we never left the house. We were resolved to lounging around and just relaxing, playing board games, cooking, watching Christmas movies. I cannot tell you the last time I just kicked up my feet and read a book. The hot tub was such a bonus. Some of us were relaxing in the tub while others would be making s'mores in the fire pit right next to us. It was one of the best times I have I had with friends in a long time. I would like to extend my thanks to the owners, Bob and Sue, for providing such a cozy and relaxing environment. I would recommend your place to anybody, except for when I want to rent from you guys first =)

This house has everything you need for a completely relaxing stay at the beach. The owners have put loving care into every detail. They even have warm water plumbed outside so you can rinse off after a swim in the ocean without using freezing cold water! The home is comfortable and elegantly furnished, with an open design and large, well-appointed kitchen where you can cook with a view of the ocean. We will be back next summer!

At Capehaven you are truly staying in a home--warm and inviting. My husband and I were there for a getaway trip and it met all expectations. Steps from the beach with miles of walking room and great views. Arch Cape is beautiful, quiet and close to whatever you may need to settle in for your stay. The view was absolutely stunning, the beach perfect for enjoying family time, and the lovely, well-maintained, spotless accommodations provided comfort and attention to any need that one could contrive.
