Why the Owner Chose Newfound Lake
On our way to see this property for the first time in August 2007, we drove up West Shore Drive past Newfound Lake and were just amazed at the beauty of the lake and surrounding area. We arrived to to see the quintessential New Hampshire cabin with its natural wood siding, beamed ceilings, knotty pine walls, country kitchen, handmade tapestries and quilts, and an artist's touch throughout.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The best part of this property is the location. There is so much to do close by in all seasons- swimming and boating on Newfound Lake, hiking on Mount Cardigan, visiting Welton Falls, Profile Falls, and Sculptured Rocks, leaf peeping and apple picking in the fall, or skiing at nearby Ragged and Tenney Mountains (Gunstock, Loon, and Waterville Valley are all less than an hour away too). You can also take great day trips to Laconia, Lake Winnipesaukee, and experience all the White Mountains has to offer.
Newfound Lake is the third-largest lake located entirely in New Hampshire. The lake is 2.5 miles wide and 6 miles long and has a maximum depth of 183 feet.
Located on the shore of Newfound Lake in Bristol, 204-acre Wellington State Park boasts the largest freshwater swimming beach in the New Hampshire State Park system.
Mount Cardigan is a prominent bare-rock summit in the towns of Orange and Alexandria in western New Hampshire.
This is a beautiful waterfall just a few miles from the house and a 15 minute hike from the road. The pool at the bottom of the falls is deep and great for swimming.
Visit the nearby orchard for NH apples, cider, jams, pickles, and homemade apple pie. Go for a walk amongst the trees and enjoy the spectaclular views.
Sculptured Rocks Natural Area located on the Cocersmouth River in Groton. It is one of the most beautiful geological sights in New Hampshire.
Visit Paradise Point Nature Center. Canoe and Kayak rentals are available to explore Newfound Lake and the Cockermouth River.
Take a ride up Mount Washington on the world's first mountain climbing cog railway.

My wife Ann and I live in Massachusetts with our two daughters. We love to travel and vacation, though its not always possible with four busy schedules. Our vacation homes in New Hampshire and Maine allows us to get away on a moments notice. We hope our guests will enjoy them as much as we do!

Hi Rich, I'd just like to thank you again for the beautiful house rental. We all had so much fun, and even got to know the neighbors next door. Everything in the house was beautiful and the views were spectacular. The river across the street was definitely a bonus. After all the rain on saturday the water was flowing very fast and made some nice rapids throughout. The house was beautiful and it would definitely be a nice place to go back to. Thanks again! -Manil

Rich, We had a super time. The comments about the house were all positive. We are definitely going to look into our next weekend away and use your rental again. Fit our group perfectly—6 sewing machines at the table and one scrapbooker at the phone table. (Just so you know, the dining room table was the single most important factor in finding a place for our group—you have to have the space to set up and sew). Again, thank you for allowing us to use your home. Betty
