"Lofty" is a two+ bedroom waterfront Maine cottage with second floor loft (hence the name). Don't stay in an old musty cottage! Treat yourself to a newly and fully renovated camp that is ready for your next Maine vacation. "Lofty" is located on a private, quiet,dead-end gravel road that lends itself to peaceful respites.
"Lofty" is the larger of a pair of cute cottages, the smaller of which was renovated in 2007 and is listed as VRBO #138154 or "Cozy Oceanfront Cottage". The twin cottage setup is ideal for larger family gatherings or groups who may wish to rent both for ultimate comfort and privacy. Perfect for occasions where one may prefer to have separate sleeping arrangements. Guests who rent both cottages will receive a substantial savings on the rental rates. Alternatively, they may be rented individually and still have lots of privacy as the lot size is large. Use of the shared dock and kayaks is included with your rental.
"Lofty" is comfortable and easily accessible from Brunswick and Portland and features two private bedrooms with queen size beds as well as a loft space that will has two twin beds. One bedroom will have wide views of Quahog Bay. Kids will love sleeping in the loft, playing games and watching the boats and birds from the large windows. Full kitchen and open living design are the hallmarks of this cottage. Knotty pine interior and cathedral ceilings in the family/living room space make for a light open feeling. The floor plan is open with a kitchen living room space that flows onto a full size deck just feet from the waters edge. Large panoramic windows lend to an open feeling that extends the indoors out. Beautiful views from the kitchen and living area. Watch the ocean and sailboats from the deck or the warmth of the living room as you sit by the glow of the gas woodstove.
The huge over-sized dock and float with outdoor deck on the water's edge is a big attraction.The pier is probably one of the largest non-commercial structures on Quahog Bay. The rental of the home includes shared use of two kayaks during your stay. Boaters may be interested in renting the mooring for the week and arriving by boat.If you are interested in renting a 15 foot daysailor for the week just let us know and we can arrange.

Oh, by the way, "Lofty" will be handicap accessible. A gentle ramp leads to a wide 36 inch door and open hallway and floor plan. The camp will be suitable for wheelchair bound or gait impaired guests. Please e-m ail with any specific questions.

We just returned from a weekend at Lofty and it was really great. It was exactly what we expected - right on the water, great dock system that rises and falls with the tide, beautiful sun rise. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It's located about 20 minutes from LL Bean which is great. We ordered lobster and steamed clams from a small lobster place about 10 minutes away - they cooked it all for us so we had to do was pick it up and enjoy. It was delicious - the clams were probably the best we'd ever had. Great time - thanks so much for sharing your cottage with us! We are hoping to make an annual adventure out of it!!

We had the honor of being the first family to rent "Lofty".A spotless,new seaside cottage at the end of a very quiet road. The back deck overlooks a bay dotted by various sized islands and is complemented by a giant floating dock, which is a perfect place to launch a boat, kayak or fish. Awesome place to kayak!!! Bird watching paridise with gulls ,terns,ospreys and best of all Bald Eagles! An afternoon ride down Rte 24 to the end of Bailey Island gives you the feel of being in the percect Maine seaside village complete with clam shacks,art galleries and roadside lobster stands. If you wish to meet some of the nicest people in Maine just stop and chat with the neighbors next door!!! Fun , fun place that you will not want to leave.

We had the most restful and peaceful vacation ever in this wonderful cottage on Quahog Bay. The cottage pictures and listings were exactly accurate and we enjoyed it so much we hope to get back for a week in the fall this year. We were 10 minutes from any store you could want or need (Sears to Walmart) and 10 minutes from Bailey Island and Orrs Island also. Cottage is centrally located to entire area. Spent days on the water kayaking and nights eating out in all the local resturants. Cottage truly a hidden jewel.
