My family visited Ft. Morgan and stayed at “Five O’Clock Somewhere” in mid September. It was a beautiful place. The house was charming, with beach décor throughout. There was plenty of room for a small family vacation like we took or a large family vacation. We had a great time fishing on the two docks. We caught a variety of fish. Even on the day it rained we had fun in the house. We were able to play a game of rummy with the cards provided. The view from the house was beautiful. It has a deck that surrounds the house. We all enjoyed watching the waves roll in..it was so peaceful. You could see ships and barges on their way along the coast. We even saw a dolphin playing while we were sitting on the deck. I recommend this place for a great place to stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay was enjoyable but I also contacted owner about needed repairs and problems. Did not get a reply from her. Could not recommed this to anyone in future. Our stay was 06/23/12 to 06/30/12. Too much money just to be able to fish and have an ocean view. Had to use rugs to cover up broken tile that we kept stumbling on. We actually installed clean furnace filters because of filthy ones, picked up trash around house, washed windows and cabinets, repaired a broken door. Other problem to numerous to list. Very rusty deck furniture.Owner response: Unfortunately, I did not receive any phone calls or complaints from the Edwards family. If a guest is unhappy or has a complaint, I do my best to address the problem and be fair to the guest. Again, this is in he same time frame of Tropical Storm Debby. My apologies for the damage. All repairs have been made and the home is getting a complete makeover this fall with new floor, bathrooms, new leather sectional sofas and large flat screen tv's. I think you will be pleasantlysatisfied. The home is surrounded by water on 3 sides, has a awesome view, and the best fishing in Fort Morgan.

We love this place and have rented it atleast 8 times. Best fishing around! We catch Flounder, Speckle Trout, Redfish, Sheepshead. We also catch plenty of Crabs in the Crab Baskets furnished by the owner. Very comfortable house! The layout is wonderful! Plenty of room outside also. It's so cool just sitting on the wrap around deck watching the Big Cargo ships go out to sea.. Nicely maintained property. Can't wait to return this fall.Did you find this review helpful? my family 5 adulds 8 kids 8 years old and under stayed here July 21 to july 29. , I called the owner when we got there and told her what we found The front door nob fell off when we opened it, the other front door would not stay closed inless the dead bolt was on, The tile in the kitchen and living room was cracked, broken ,uneven and sharpe on little feet ,80% of the grout was comming up, boards on the back stair were lose one broke off while we were there, deck chairs were metal with big holes and rough edges The 40ft pier had four different boards gone, There was boards in the yard with nails sticking up, We picked up broken bottles and beer cans before we could let the kids out The air condition filters were completly blocked ( had not been changed in a long long time) we changed them, overhead lights did not work in one bedroom, We had to fix the water adjuster nob in one bath so it did not fall off, towell rack in one bathroom was broken I emailed Doris when we got back and send her pictures of what we found, after seven days I called her to make sure she had gotten the email, She said she had and had saw the pictures and was sorry we had found it in the condition we had and she would give us days next year, and did not understand why we were calling her. I explained that I would not take my family back because of the unsafe condition of the house and requested a partical refund instead she said no she would only give free days next year and would make sure the repairs were made I ask how many and she said she did not know depended when we wanted to go down. So even tho we did have a good time got good fish it was not as relaxing as it should have been be cause we were haveing to make sure the little one always had their shoes on, didn't go fast in the house ( hard with two year olds) As the house is not it is not worth the money she is asking for.Did you find this review helpful? This year it was 5 adults and 8 kids. The kids enjoyed fishing off the piers and playing in the water on the small beach by the house. The adults enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset from the deck. I would recommend this home because it close to the beach and lots of other activities but far enough away from the crowds to have plenty of available beach space.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Germaine! So glad you and your family had a great holiday weekend! Thank you for the good review of our home. We value you and appreciate you as a repeat guest! Thanks so much and I hope you will return to "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere". Have a GREAT summer! Doris & Les Stiers

We had a wonderful time. I came with my three children and my Mom. It was so peaceful and quiet. The kids loved playing in the yard and walking the short walk to the beach. My Mom and I loved sitting under the deck in the wonderful breeze. We saw dolphins swimming in the bay and the ocean. Ms. Doris was so helpful and kind to us. We loved it...and would love to come backDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Our stay of 3 days at this location was much too short. We enjoyed the kayaking, the crabbing the sunrises and sunsets, but the fishing was what impressed us the most. The first night we were fortunate to be standing on the pier in the middle of a 300 foot feeding frenzy. The water absolutely churned with trout feeding on the bait fish that had come to the lights. We caught and released an insane amount of fish. The second and third nights were slower and we only caught and released about 20 trout per night, with several running from 16 to 20 inches. Of course, the big one got away and my wife said that I lost it on purpose so I would not have to say she out fished me. The truth of the story is that it was way to big for our landing net (which we had landed 20 inchers with). If you like fishing, this is the place. Our hosts were gracious and made sure everything was suitable to us. Oh, by the way, when you come, don't forget the BIG landing net.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This was our second year to stay at this house, and we have booked it again for next year.We have teenagers and they loved it.Our yellow Lab loves making the trip too, she loves the wrap around porch. The house is well maintained, We loved the new tile floor. The view's are wonderful, I could sit for hrs just watching the huge cargo ships going in and out of Mobile Bay. We fished 24/7 on the lighted 315 ft pier. We caught lots of Red Fish, Specks , Sheepshead, White Trout. The fish cleaning station came in handy at the end of each day- This place has it all- Great house, fishing, furnishings, big lot with lots of sand for the kids. The owners are super nice and we enjoyed our conversations with them. So much history is this area and we can't wait to get back down. John & Patti- Huntsville, AlRecommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.
