antiques.
• Grand double bedroom with ensuite shower room makes it also suitable for just
a couple.
• Large open useable marble fireplace on ground floor.

Set within the conservation area of Alignan du Vent, this house has been refurbished to retain its simple but elegant grandeur from a by-gone age. Enter over the stone ledge and through the old wooden door into a small porch leading to an open plan hall and living area. The floor is early 20th century mosaic in the belle époque tradition. Flanked by an elegant tall French window, the open marble fireplace adds interest to a room that has a sofa, chairs and a wooden table with seating for six. A small but complete kitchen is separate with a storage area adjoining.

Off the end of the hall you enter the truly grand, well worn stone stairway with iron balustrade that goes up to the second and third floors. On the first landing there is great great grandfather’s shipping box that accompanied him from Liverpool to America.

On the second floor is a lovely bedroom with a double iron bed beneath iron calabra light. Another marble fireplace and a long French window that looks down on the wide outer street of the circulade village of Alignan du Vent. A great place to observe village life. The room includes an ebony bureau and half wardrobe/armoire. Through traditional French doors is the ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin (the French doors can be closed off for entry only by the hallway).

Onto the third floor for another double and a single bedroom. These are atmospheric bedrooms with beams and traditional tiled floors. This floor lead onto the mezzanine roof garden where under large electric operated dormer windows you will find a sun lounger, table and chairs – and a myriad of plants and palms. A great place for your morning coffee and croissant, or evening drink.

The village itself is lovely experience. The house is just a few meters away from the village center. The village has two fantastic bakeries, two shops, cafe, bar, hairdresser, and pharmacy.
