Our host gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and took time to give us a tour through this delightful home, which used to be overflow for what was a hotel across the street. He assured us that he would be there for us if we needed anything, and he directed us to the book he has prepared with directions, maps, and brochures about the area. If you enjoy antiquing, this is antique heaven, so be sure to ask your host for directions to the out-of-the-way shops in the area. If antiquing isn’t your idea of fun shopping, there are great shops in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. Take time out to drive on Ocean Avenue to see the rocky shoreline.
This beautiful turn of the century home is in a wonderful, picturesque, oceanfront location and the private beach starts only 35 steps from the house! Take a barefoot walk on the soft sandy beach, or sit back and relax in a rocking chair on the porch while you enjoy the smell of the ocean air and the sound of the waves lapping against the shore. Relax on a lawn chair in the beautiful yard while your meal is cooking on the grill.
Perfect for a large family group or a group of friends, this is a wonderful home away from home. The living and dining areas are comfortable and roomy and easily accommodate a large number of people. Two of the living areas have cable TV, and you’ll find puzzles and games in the entryway closet and books in the fireplace room. WiFi is available to keep in touch with your family and friends back home. Each of the bedrooms has its own personality, several have an ocean view, and all of the beds are comfortable! The kitchen is well equipped for preparing any meal, and the grocery store is about 10 minutes away; however, if you prefer to eat out, you have a variety of excellent choices.

I wrote an earlier email stating how fabulous this property and its owners are but I don't see it in the reviews so, I'm writing again. Our annual "bowling girls weekend in Kennebunk" has been taking place for the past 12 years and every year is better than the year before. The home is absolutely perfect for a large group, which makes it more affordable as well. The photos don't do it justice and the owner keeps the property up, improving it every year. The vistas from the back porch on the rockers are almost as relaxing as sleeping with the windows open listening to the water slap against the shoreline. Although we never leave the property (why would you when the beach is outside your back door and you have all your provisions at your fingertips), there is lots of shopping, dining and other activities just two miles down the road in Kennebunkport's Lower Village. If you want to get a little exercise, you can even walk to town.....viewing beautiful seaside homes and a 5-star restaurant along the way. We've been there during three seasons and each visit is simply the best. The owners are always just a phone call away but we've had no reason to call for anything as we arrive and leave without any issues. I've recommended this beach house to family and friends who were planning weddings, reunions, birthday celebrations, etc. and everyone is very thankful for the recommendation. It's simply a wonderfully relaxing retreat. It's always clean and welcoming with fresh flowers upon arrival and furnishings that aren't too fussy. There's parking for about 5 or 6 cars in the driveway, depending on the size. We plan to keep this home on our travel schedule for years to come.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children.
