I spent Thanksgiving here with a large group and it was wonderful. The buildings are rustic and quaint with lots of charm but they have all the modern comforts and conveniences of home. The main building is huge. It has a large covered porch in the front and another in the back. The ceilings in the living area are two stories high and have huge windows all around. The kitchen in the main building is just amazing. We had five or six people cooking at the same time without getting in each other’s way. My favorite spot was the large fire pit next to the house where everyone could sit by the fire late into the night and tell stories. I’m pretty sure a few beers were consumed also. I would definitely go back again.

This weekend 30 teachers from my school came here for a weekend away from Houston. It was the perfect getaway. Plenty of space for everyone to relax, great places for people to gather, comfortable beds for everyone (we also rented the compound next door), and beautiful grounds! There was also everything you could need - sports equipment, cooking utensils and flatware, linens, it was incredible. This was our fourth year having a staff development retreat and it was undoubtedly the best ever because of the accomodations. Thank you SO much - we will be returning again next fall!

This is a great place for any large family or group to gather for fun, relaxation, and building special memories. The large, shaded porches with comfortable rocking chairs were perfect for visiting and reading. Everyone enjoyed playing basketball, pool, and ping-pong while others watched from the nice hammocks nearby. We all enjoyed sitting out under the huge pecan tree and gazing at the beautiful view. The property is clean and stocked with everything a big group needs for cooking and sitting down together for meals. The plentiful beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were filled with nice toiletries and thick towels. The owner made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I will recommend Farr Side to anyone I know who needs a large, comfortable, relaxing spot to gather friends and family together!

We spent Easter weekend at Farr Side and found it met and exceeded our expectations for our yearly family reunion. There is an adjacent property called moriah that we also occupied and there was plenty of sleeping room for all 25 of us. My favorite part was all the nice arrangement of seating on all the porches and near the lake - perfect for sitting around and visiting with family that you rarely see. The property is very well maintained and clean. I never left the property but Marble Falls is close and accessible for any necessities. I will (actually I already have) recommend the property to my friends.

Our family used this lovely property for Christmas in October, 2008. We have already booked for 2009. It is everything mentioned in the review and more. We had everything needed to accomodate our family of 19 for 3 nights. We cooked all our meals & had everything necessary to do a "Christmas " turkey dinner, There are games, a horse shoe pit, plenty of lighting for night scavenger hunt,TV for the football games, & the pool table was a big hit. The owner is most accomodating & even put up a Christmas tree for us! Grocery shopping in town is adequate & the corn maze is perfect for a family activity in Marble Falls. Thanks Farr Side for a great time in a clean well furnished house that we will use again & again.

What a wonderful place for our family reunion! Lots of room to spread out and a big assortment of sleeping arrangements. Two big porches with lots of rocking chairs for sitting and talking. The game room kept the teenagers busy. The seating area under the pecan tree by the waters edge feels like a retreat in its self. There is a plenty of property for the kids to run and play games, volleyball and horseshoes were popular. Everything we needed was there, lots of pillows and blankets. And the kitchen was well stocked. The decor was attractive and clean, but still family comfortable.

Family reunion favorite

This is my favorite gathering place for our family reunion. Managing several generations with varied interest is easy when there is so much space and so many activities. From swimming, skiing, horseshoes and four-square during the day to barbeque, pool, darts and card games at night, there was something for everyone. Of course a favorite is just sitting on the huge deck enjoying the peaceful quiet and beautiful views. There is a removed sitting area on a cliff over the lake under a giant pecan tree that calls me every morning to start my day. I can't say enough about the comfort of the well appointed house, though we spend most our time outdoors. I highly recommend this location to any group.

The Farr Side has become a special place for my group of 50 some odd year old childhood friends. We have been coming here each of the last seven years for our reunion. It is great for sleeping our large coed group with the 2 seperate buildings of sleeping quarters. The many porches and lounging porch furniture suits our laid back ways and the well furnished kitchen allows us to prepare meals for our groups of 20-25. Our people come from Colorado, Maryland and Texas every year to soak up the fun. I just don't know what The Coolest Eagles Reunion would do without the Farr Side.

We have been to this property once with my family and onother time with a group of friends. The range of games and entertainment made it perfect for family. And the huge back porch was fun for sitting and visiting with friends. The huge grill is perfect for a group meal and when we cooked that night, we realized we had spent the whole day outside enjoying the view and appreciating the quiet. This compound is the perfect respite from the city.

This property is set in a beautiful area! The views are magnificent and the privacy is wonderful. It is a great place to get together with a large group of people. There is plenty of space for people to gather together while still maintaining some privacy with the spacious bedrooms. It is well kept, clean and has up-to-date appliances. There are great rocking chairs around the property to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings or the lake is just behind the house. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to get together with a group.
