Shelley, Just wanted to send you a note to let you know that we all thoroughly enjoyed our spring vacation in your penthouse condo. Everyone had a great time and the condo was even better than the pictures online showed. I really appreciate your quick response to my phone calls and text messages before our arrival. We went to the beach daily for some parent vs. kids volleyball games at the boardwalk. We explored the area and loved how everything was so close by. We ate dinner at the boardwalk restaurants several times and had a great time at Howl at the Moon piano bar. The Harborwalk in the evening with outside music was awesome. Some of our group went parasailing and others went deep sea fishing. We just loved it and there was plenty of things to do while we were here. Dreaming of coming back again soon. Thanks again for letting us create many lasting memories with our friends and family.

We have stayed here for SIX spring break vacations! It's perfect! Even if the weather is cool, we can enjoy the hot tub on the roof. The unit is clean and nicely decorated. The owners are so easy to work with. We consider it our home away from home. (We also recommend eating dinner at the Black Pearl across the street.)

What a great view and beautiful place! Enjoyed the peace & quiet, the easy access to everything and spending time alone with my husband. The white sand was amazing and the long walks on the beach. Condo was Perfect! Warm Winter-Enjoyed Beaches & Pools

What a wonderful place! My husband is going through a 3-month course at Eglin AFB and so I decided to pack up the kids and join him so we could keep the family together as much as possible. Best decision ever. Winter in Florida is great and many days are still warm enough to enjoy the pool and beaches. The lack of crowds is a big bonus! This was our 1 and 2 year olds first time at the beach - they loved it and so did we. Thank you! The condo was perfect.... The Bishop Family Las Vegas, Nevada

New Years Eve Getaway!

We took a group of 8 (my fiancé, three sons, another couple, and a good friend of ours) and had a blast! The description was spot on and the condo was very nice! We loved sitting out on the balcony and just reading and relaxing, or soaking in the hot tub when it wasn't too cold (while we were there the temperature fluctuated between 38 and 76 degrees, and we were only there for a week!). The beach was just a short walk over the pedestrian bridge and the view of the bay from the balcony was simply gorgeous! The location was great, allowing us easy/quick access to both Ft Walton and Destin, so we were able to take full advantage of all of the wonderful local eateries. We rang in the New Year watching fireworks up and down the coast from a top the roof – it was a great time!

Great location! Hot tub, huge kitchen, and gulf view well worth the stay!

We had a great time at this condo. The condo faces the bay, but is right next to the boardwalk on Okaloosa island, which is on the gulf side. Plenty of good food is available there as well as a long pier where you can fish or watch others catch fish. I had a great steak at Pandora's Steakhouse, which is not too far away. The condo was clean and spacious with a wonderful kitchen. The master bedroom has it's own door to the patio and a huge window to view the bay! The bed was a little too soft for us and was not so good when I burnt my back. The patio has a spiral staircase to the roof, where the hot tub is. The hot tub was relaxing to use early in the morning and before going to bed. We had such a good time that we are already thinking of staying again next fall.

Also, we added a memory foam pillow-top to our King mattress this year after a complaint that our mattress was too firm. I am so sorry it was too soft. You can remove the cover, but we might just buy an "in-the-middle" mattress this winter and hope that it satisfies all of our tenants. I also agree that there are some wonderful restaurants on Okaloosa Island! Thanks so much for sharing your experience at our penthouse and for being such a great tenant. My family had a wonderful time on our vacation in Destin, and specifically our stay in this condo! The whole Destin West resort is very nice: well kept, great amineties, and nice atmosphere. The walk across to the beach is very easy, and only take 5 minutes or so... The condo itself was great! The master suite is incredible, and the two other rooms are very nice as well. We had a family sleeping in each room, and all felt comfortable. The beds slept very well (which is something you don't always get in rentals like this...) The kitchen is great, and we were able to cook large meals every night without much hassle at all. The deck was super relaxing and has an awesome view of the bay. The way the condo is positioned, you don't get direct sunlight on most of the deck, so it was comfortable all througout the day. The rooftop patio is an awesome feature, and the hot tub was a nice relaxation point after the kids were in bed. We have kids from 12 years old to 1 year old and they all loved the Lazy River, the Splash park, and the other pools. Like I said, the resort is great! As far as things to do in the area, we rented a pontoon from True Blue Pontoon Boat Rentals, which is behind the Elks Lodge right next door to the resort (we walked there...) They had the best rates of anywhere we checked, and the team of guys we worked with were great! Highly recommend them. We also ate dinner at Dewey Destins (Crab Island location on Calhoun Ave) one night which I also HIGHLY recommend. The atmosphere is awesome as well as the food. The Destin West resort is very nicely located between Ft Walton Beach and Destin. The area isn't overly commercialized, and the majority of the island between the resort and Destin is completely undevelopped, so you don't feel overwhelmed with commercialization. Finally, I have to say that Shelley is a great owner to work with, and really takes pride in providing great rental experiances to her clients. She was very responsive to any issue or question we had, and did an outstanding job of making our trip great! It was a very relaxing trip, and one that we will be making again next year. Thanks Shelley for all of your hard work, and for the quality rentals you provide!

Hi Shelley, We had such a wonderful family vacation. The view from the patio and master bedroom was absolutly breathtaking. My kids loved eating their breakfast out on the patio every morning, The condo was beautiful, clean and decorated very nice. All of us had so much fun going to the pool, splash zone, zero entry pool and the awesome lazy river. We ate at several diffrent restaurants Crab Trap, AJ'S, Harry T just to name a few. The seafood was delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful dolphin cruise with the kids, they were able to see lots of dolphins. It was a pleasure to work with you, and thanks a million for letting us use your condo. We will definitley be back!!!!!

Thank you so much for making your condo available to us! We haven't been back in the area since the oil spill. We really loved staying here-it was spacious and felt very comfortable! We enjoyed a day at Crab Island with a pontoon boat, rented jet skiis, ate dinner at Fisherman's Wharf & Floyds (delish!!) and had a fun night out at Howl at the Moon! Beach time was the best!! Lovely condo, well-maintained

My husband and I stayed in the penthouse for a week with our four-year old and one-year old. We put a lot of stock into how relaxing a place feels because we want to be able to lounge around and feel comfortable on vacation. We felt very comfortable in this unit. You can tell it has been well-maintained. I was shocked at how large the unit felt when we arrived--you just can't tell how spacious it is from the pictures. We don't eat out much on vacation, and the kitchen in the unit had everything we needed to cook family dinners. The view from the balcony was wonderful--you can see the wildlife and we saw a dolphin catching a fish! My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub when the children were sleeping and my four-year old loved the lazy river and zero entry pool. The zero entry pool was also great for the one-year old! Shelley was prompt in responding to my questions and easy to work with. We're glad we chose this unit.

We stayed in your wonderful condo Oct. 8 through Oct. 15, 2011. We opened the door and fell in love with the view from the balconey and the master bedroom. The girls loved the twin beds in their room. We felt at home from the first minute. We loved the convenience of walking to the pool, lazy river and across the sky bridge to the beach. We would love to plan another vacation in the future and would definitely consider renting yours again!!! We did a dolphin cruise at sunset (Southern Star) wonderful. We enjoyed great seafood at Fudpucker's, Black Pearl, Floyd's Shrimp House and Tropical Waves. We had photos made through Green Screen. Loved Destin West!!!

The absolute most wonderful condo in Destin West!

Hey Shelley! Just wanted to drop a note and tell you how much we enjoyed our week in your bayside condo! The most enjoyable part of our stay was sitting on the patio and watching the sun rise while sipping coffee. The view of the bay and all its activity was pleasant and relaxing. Visitors such as rays, dolphins, and, yes, even sharks were spotted in the bay each day! In addition to the bay, we very much enjoyed the lazy river! My daughters Sage (8) and Abigail (6) loved it the most! We were there by 9am just about each day as they could not wait to jump in! The spa was quite relaxing as well! The girls and I would use it in the early evenings (if weather permitted - we had to jump out a couple of times and head downstairs when thunder/lightning was in the area!) We loved the Sky Bridge to the beach and the Splash Garden! We spent most mornings at the beach before 9am, then we'd head to the lazy river. After that, we'd eat lunch (and nap, usually) and head back to the Splash Garden or the lazy river again before dinner. We shopped all over the Boardwalk to cap off some very wonderful evenings! We most certainly will return on our next trip! There is absolutely NO better view in any other condo that offers the incredible lazy river and wonderful location! This place is truly a gem and we can't wait until we return!

Just wanted to let you know that we had the BEST vacation ever!! The condo was perfect! At first I thought that staying on the bay side was a tradeoff for the spacious condo. Shelley~ My husband and I recently rented your penthouse and have to say it was everything we hoped for and more. Sometimes when you rent a place off the internet the pictures and description are not what you really get. We have to say that what we saw lived up to all of our expectations and more. As soon as we walked into the condo we felt that this is a place we could enjoy. The condo is very spacious and inviting and extremely well taken care of. The large patio overlooks the bay and is peaceful and very relaxing, however, the rooftop patio with hot tub is outstanding with views that go on forever. Although it was only the two of us the condo would easily accommodate a family. Shelley was extremely pleasant to work with and very organized and gave us all the information we would need to make our stay in Destin perfect. And, if you have not been to the Destin area it is definitely a place to try. Destin West is great because of being located on Okaloosa Island and we not only had the bay side amenities but also the beach side to take advantage of. The beaches are some of the best we have seen! In addition, there are many great restaurants to enjoy along with being able to purchase some great local seafood to cook at home. As far as we are concerned Destin/Okaloosa Island and Shelley's Penthouse would make a great vacation get away for anyone. It was a sad day when we had to pack up to go home. Shelley, thanks for making our stay one to remember.

Some times you get what you pay for and some times you get lucky and get more than what you pay for. The unit is amazing. Every thing from the view, the roof top, the comfortable beds to the full size washer and dryer made things so nice. Not a single complaint.

The condo was so great, I wish that we could have stayed longer. The pools are wonderful and the view is awesome. We really enjoyed the penthouse hot tub. Very comfortable and spacious. Hope to come back soon. The weather did turn cool on us, but it was still beautiful.

We stayed Heron PH2 Sept 08 and it was a great condo and we had the perfect vacation. The condo was clean and comfortable. I also rented from Shelley in May 09 - Pelican L08. Again the condo was perfect. We really enjoy renting from you.

We stayed Heron PH2 Sept 08 and it was a great condo and we had the perfect vacation. The condo was clean and comfortable. I also rented from Shelley in May 09 - Pelican L08. Again the condo was perfect. We really enjoy renting from you.

Shelley,We had an unbelievable trip! The condo was the best! It was very relaxing and we had plenty of room. My in-laws have suggested going ahead and renting the condo for the same time next year! We didn’t want to leave! In fact, I almost called you Saturday to see if you had anything available to extend our vacation a day or two! J I will double check with them again and let you know for sure but I feel like we have definitely found our vacation spot. I have spread the word to several others about what a wonderful place Destin West Beach and Bay Resort is! I have two other friends that I have given your website to that may also be interested. Thank you so much; we truly had a dream vacation and look forward to many more!!Elizabeth

We stayed in the Penthouse Heron 02 in May 2009- went for vacation and for my daughter's wedding on the beach. The bridal party was in the Penthouse to get ready for the wedding and we had photographers and a videographer take some excellent photos with the great rooms/decor and the wonderful views and the large master bed/bath. The condo was clean and spacious and was perfect for our family of 6-they especially loved the rooftop hot tub. We would definitely go back to this exact condo-they were very kind/helpful and organized with the rental information. We wanted an upscale condo with nice decor and a view- perfect!!

This condo is amazing! Adorable decor and very spacious! Can't beat the hot tub on the roof . . . one morning we actually watched the sunrise and needless to say it was incredible. The complex has everything you could ever want and more! My favorite was the lazy river!
