This is a well furnished and appointed condo with an unusually spacious balcony. Very clean, comfortable, and safe. El-Zalate itself is quite nice, Great pools, not crowded, and very well kept. Friendly staff. The location is excellent. An easy 5-10 minute drive to San Jose and about 30 minutes to Cabo San Lucas. It's very easy to walk to Coral Baja next door or to Zippers down the beach if you want someone to make you a drink or a meal. (And this is a great beach). We preferred San Jose to Cao San Lucas, so this condo was a good choice. The owner was easy to work with and provided all the needed info. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and hope to return!

We very much enjoyed our stay at El Zalate- and this unit had all the comforts of home with a great view. This Villa has some of the best views in this project.

WOW!! Simply amazing, Beautiful!!! Patty & Joe, Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful condo first part of Jan., 2012. I can honestly say out of all the places we've been and resorts/condo's we've stayed in this definitely tops them all. KUDOS to you both for location and design. We rented a condo at the Marina Sol in Cabo San Lucas the first week and I am so glad that we didn't rent your condo first........as much as we liked the location and grounds/pools at Marina Sol the unit we rented desperately needed some upgrading and was in no comparison to your beautiful condo. We will definitely be back! The information package we received from Patty and Joe prior to our arrival was an added touch....being as this was our first time in San Jose del Cabo they included information on shopping, restaurants, car rentals, transportation to and from airport, important phone numbers (Emergency, etc.) The complex is quiet and grounds extremely well maintained. The view is breath taking and condo was very well laid out and clean. We were very comfortable and felt right at home the minute we walked in. I had a couple questions and emailed Patty expecting to wait 24 hours for a reply and within the hour I had an answer. We had no trouble with WiFi and hubby was especially excited when he walked in, turned on the tube and noticed he had satellite.......Hockey, Hockey....he was in 7th heaven! We took my Mom (85) with us, every day when we'd sit on the patio she'd say.....what a beautiful place, the view is so amazing! I'm so grateful I'm here with you to enjoy this. Because of my Mom not being able to walk long distances we decided to rent a car......found it very easy to get around, even drove back to Cabo to do a little more shopping. We also took the day and drove to Todos Santos....lot's of construction but we were glad we took the time to see it. The 4 lane hi-way is going to be real nice when done. Patty suggested eating at Sardina Cantina and I highly recommend it! Excellent food, service and presentation was fabulous! Habanero's was another we'd found that was excellent! Well worth the price! Thank you again Patty and Joe....we'll definitely be back and if we know anyone looking for a condo we will highly recommend yours. Jane, Elaine and Lou

Christmas at El Zalate

My husband and I and our adult daughter stayed in this wonderful unit for 7 days between Christmas and New Years...it exceeded our expectations is all ways: each bedroom had glass walls/sliding glass doors to the balcony so listened to surf every night,leather LR furniture is comfortable, beds are great, washer and dryer and elevator are nice amenities, parking is handy, pool area is quiet(NO piped in music or volleyball games!), and is uncrowded and spotless, condo is well equipped, very clean, beach is perfect for LONG walks with no litter, very few vendors(and when they were present they didn't hassle or even approach you unless you called them over)...if you want nightlife, restaurants are steps away(but can't hear their music) down the beach...we've rented several VRBO properties in NYC, San Francisco,Colorado mountains and other Mexico beach areas and "El Zalate" is one of the best...the only suggestion I'd make is to provide a visitors' log in which to write restaurant suggestions(we enjoyed some very sophisticated meals in lovely settings as well as simple meals in authentic " locals" digs)...great eating too on the condo's very private and covered balcony which has a grill...we are already planning a return visit to El Zalate!!!

AMAZING CONDO ON THE WATER!!!

This is THE place to stay in Cabo. Wow. The view from every angle of the condo is absolutely gorgeous. The master bedroom welcomes you with a wonderfully comfortable King sized bed set just high enough to see the sea waves crashing on the sand below. The place was SPOTLESS, the grounds are kept beautifully and there is a guard on duty at all times. We felt completely tucked away and safe. It was incredibly relaxing. The master bathroom has a HUGE walk in shower and tub. The patio was by far our favorite hang out. Sip on your favorite cocktail while watching the sunset and listening to the waves crash. We stayed more than comfortably with another couple and the price is incredibly reasonable considering you are surrounded by delicious restaurants, nightlife, and the ride to San Lucas is simple and just about 15 minutes away! We had an absolute blast and will ONLY stay in this condo for future visits!

Great Complex and GREAT unit!!!

Thanks Joe and Patty for the use of your great condo for two weeks in June and July. The pictures don't really do it justice it is much nicer. Hubby and I took our oldest grandson and his best friend for a graduation present. While teenagers may have liked it on Medano Beach a bit more we rented a car as wa always do when in Cabo and they had a great time. They were in the ocean most every day body surfing or boogie boarding. They are both going to be play a sport in college so working out in the on site facility and running on the beach was a daily thing for them. There are two or three good restaurants within walking distance and driving to others in San Lucas or San Jose is no problem. The kids had a great time but for my husband and I this place is perfect, quit, safe just a great place to relax and get away from life. We will rent from Joe and Patty again in the future, they are great and very helpful!!!! One more thing this place would be great for families with young children!!! TRY THIS PLACE YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Winter 2011 in San Jose del Cabo

For the second year in a row, my husband and I stayed at Patty and Joe's condo. It is just the most fantastic place to vacation for us. The complex is quiet and extremely well maintained. We love sitting on the balcony watching the waves and looking for whales while enjoying our morning coffee or having happy hour. We have been back home for two weeks now and still miss it and are already planning our next trip. Our favorite places to eat are Sardina Cantina, Zippers and Tropicana. 7 Seas restaurant is also excellent but a little pricey. If you are looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy the weather and the beach, this is it.

We had a wonderful stay at this El Zalate property. The location and views of the beach/pool were wonderful. The condo was spacious and clean with everything you could possibly need on vacation. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful to any questions/recommendations we posed. The pool area and grounds were quiet, clean and well maintained. The beach was also not crowded. We did eat at a few restaurants nearby but found the best dining in San Jose only 10 min drive away. We would definitely stay at this property again and recommend it to others.

Great time on the beach in San Jose

We had a great time at the property; we especially loved sitting on the large balcony looking at the waves crashing in the sea of cortez! The condo was very clean and well decorated. King sized bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and gave a nice view of the beach. Both bathrooms were very spacious and well decorated with very large showers. The pool area was gorgeous with plenty of lounge chairs, tables, and palapas for shade. The only thing we thought the place was missing was a DVD player -- we brought a few down but had nowhere to play them. However, that was only a minor issue. Things nearby: The building had a couple of restaurants right at the top of the hill (Mi Ensalada and Sardina Cantina) had very good, inexpensive breakfasts. A little convenience store is at the top of the hill and a Mega (large grocery store) is within walking distance and easy to grab a cab back (~50 pesos) to keep groceries cold. I would definitely go back to Baja Brewing Company (local microbrew with very good pizza) and El Meson del Angel for a nicer dinner (be sure to order a mojito -- they make it at your table). Patty gave a lot of recommendations -- I wish we could have tried them all. All in all, we had a wonderful time and were disappointed to have to leave! Cliff and Chrissy Atlanta, GA

Easter 2010 stay

After our stay at your place we spent a week at Cabo San Lucas in Villa La Estancia. Our whole family (my husband and 21 and 16 year old sons) agreed that your place was the better of the two. We really enjoyed the quiet nature of the complex, that you can always find a chair at the pool and don’t have to rush out in the morning to save a chair with a towel and magazine. We often had the pool to ourselves. The large balcony of your unit was a great place to hang out to get out of the sun. We ate our meals on the deck and spent several hours each day playing cards. Although our two boys would have liked two beds in their room, the fold out was comfortable enough that we didn’t hear any complaints. The kitchen was very well equipped. The boys liked the wifi and satellite TV for in the evening. All in all, a very comfortable place to stay. Our only complaint has to do with not being able to swim in the ocean in on that beach, although I understand that isn't always the case and depends on the weather at sea.

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us! I think of myself as a rather finicky person with quite high standards when I travel. This condo was even better in person. The location is absolutely amazing. You are so close to the beach that you can literally sit on the deck and watch the whales go by while having morning coffee. Everything a cook could hope for in the well-stocked kitchen with a great barbecue on the deck. Beautiful neutral decor. Excellent free wi-fi with very strong signal. This condo was absolutely perfect. We had a wonderful time here. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the mornings and at cocktail time looking at the pool and the beach and watching for whales. Great accomodations - everything you need is there. Having stayed at condo's on either side of El Zelate, this one is tops! The deck is great, always some shade and some sun, we were on the deck unless we were sleeping or down at the pool! We will stay again for sure.

We had a wonderful stay here, this place really felt like home. Very comfortable and quiet and the view is among the best in the complex. Definitely one of the nicer units in the complex and villa III seems to be in the best shape while of course being closest to the ocean. We opened all doors and windows and enjoyed the sounds of the waves and sightings of whales in the distance.

The condo is spectacular. We couldn't ask for anything more. The views from the balcony were gorgeous. We enjoyed many delightful nights on the balcony cooking on the outdoor barbecue while listening to the crashing ocean waves. This condo is better than the pictures. The view from the patio is amazing and we spent many hours on it.The entire complex is maintained extremely well and the garden and pool areas are beautiful. The location makes it convenient to restaurants and a great grocery store. We would stay there again without question.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful property over Thanksgiving. The balcony is fabulous, we really enjoyed having breakfast and afternoon cocktails enjoying the truly panoramic view. The location is perfect walking distance to great restaurants and on the water. We will be back!

Location, Location, Location!!! - We took the toll road from the airport and were in the condo in 15 minutes. Once we were at the condo it is only a 10 minute drive to the charming little town of San Jose. A 20 minute dive in the opposite direction and you are in downtown Cabo. View, View, View!!! The view from the condo's huge balcony is priceless. We spent 98% that we were at the condo on the balcony. Both the bedrooms are large with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. We really enjoyed the $40 massages at Hot Rocks just 3 mins down the road that the owners recommended. You the sound of ocean waves were wonderful. We had a fantastic time and we are planing our next trip.
