This property is located in West Los Angeles on the border of Santa Monica adjacent to Brentwood. Art galleries, hip shopping, and casual dining are located 5 blocks from the doorstep in Sawtelle Village. Many other great bars and restaurants are also within walking distance. Lots of live music, art museums, shopping, and dining are located in Hollywood and adjacent areas (Hancock Park, Larchmont, Silver lake, & Los Feliz) - 15 to 20 minute drive.

Visit scenic beach towns including Venice & Santa Monica - 5-10 minute drive, Malibu - 20-30 minute drive, or go further south to Manhattan or Redondo Beach - 20-25 minute drive. Marina Del Rey - the largest small boat harbor in the nation - is also a short trip away.

  • I live in West LA about 2.5 miles from this property and needed a place to put up out of town guests. This has been an ongoing difficulty for us because budget motels and hotels in the area tend to be on main roads or by highways, noisy, and otherwise in unappealing locations. My brothers and their wives stayed at the house for 5 nights. Each couple had their own room and shared the bathroom. The house was well appointed with quality kitchenware, wireless, and a gas-grill with a cast iron grill top. The house is modest in size as houses go, but quite roomy in comparison to what would be available at a motel. We hung out at the house and grilled out in the backyard, one night having 15 people total enjoying the California evening and good food. This house is two short blocks from a grocery store and coffee shop and 5 or 6 short blocks from a section of eateries. I was initially skeptical of what the place would be like at its low price, but everyone was really pleased with how things turned out. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the house if one were not planning to rent a car in the sense that it is not within walking distance of the beach, major tourist attractions, or UCLA. But with a little planning it is close enough to the bus system that one could get around without one if need be.
