Perched high above the private beach, this stylish 3 bedroom, summer cottage is "old Lakeside" at its best, with drop-dead sunsets and a broad, white-sand beach. The spacious living room has a handsome local-stone fireplace, wood floors, a sleeping alcove, plenty of comfortable seating and a full wall of windows facing the lake, with sliding glass doors onto a large, full-length porch. A pass-though from the kitchen to the porch makes serving meals a breeze; both the porch and living room have dining tables seating 8. The one in the living room can easily be moved to the porch for big parties.
Off the living room alcove with a very comfortable queen-sized bed, a bathroom with shower leads to two bedrooms with ceiling fans and air conditioning. The Lake Bedroom has a king bed (two connected twins which can be separated if needed) and a wonderful view of the water. The Woods Bedroom has twin beds, and an cot for guests. Both bedrooms have ample closet space and doors to the exterior stone terrace with a gas grill.
Share our beach stairs with our cousins next door; there is a charming old pump house midway down for storing your beach gear.
Because this house sits high on the bluff surrounded by mature oaks, wildlife watching is a constant pleasure. Fill the feeders and watch hummingbirds just feet from the porch; great blue herons, pileated woodpeckers, eagles, waterfowl and countless warblers will make you want to bring your binoculars. Rental kayaks are available in nearby New Buffalo as is almost anything else you can think of. If you get a stormy night, lightning displays out over the lake can be awe-inspiring, and the next day you will be rewarded with excellent body-surfing.
A minimum two-week rental is required.

Wonderful time experiencing the beach and the area as it should be experienced! Delightful, awesome accomodations and a great owner to work with regarding all aspects of your stay. A true classic Lake Michigan cottage - not to be missed!

I stayed here last year. The view is magnificent since the place sits high on a bluff. The place was clean and pleasant and easy to find, and the owner is very kind and reasonable and fair concerning a security deposit or anything else. I looked for a place to write a review as I wanted to recommend it to others, and I just found it, albeit a year after I stayer there. I would definitely go back again. It is dog friendly and it is very easy to sweep the beach sand out. It even has a dishwasher!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children.
