Very simple, rustic cedar cottage, quaintly decorated with all of the comforts of home, including a washer/dryer, range, and dishwasher. Living room/dining/kitchen area with Franklin stove. Bathroom has stall shower, no tub. Very private location with large deck, ideal for bird and boat watching, cocktails. The cottage overlooks marsh (where blue heron and egrets fish) and ocean. View is spectacular; beach accessible in short walk. New sliding doors. Cottage is simple, cute, and immaculate. Short driving distance to many fine restaurants, Acadia National Park, and Bar Harbor. Cottage is located on Mount Desert Island. The nearby town of Southwest Harbor has a library with wireless Internet access, a post office, ATM machines, medical centers, a wine & cheese shop, specialty market, grocery store, drug store, many restaurants, an ice cream and gift shops. Gas station/convenience stores within 3 miles; 25 miles to Ellsworth. Not suitable for very young children. Wireless in house.
July 9-17 still open!!: Unbelievably beautiful location. House has fabulous deck to enjoy spectacular scenery and clean air. Cottage deck is the perfect place to view bird life and look out at the open ocean. Just replaced (summer 2010) sliding glass doors for an even more fabulous view.

Private setting on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island. Short walk to rocky beach. Rustic cottage in generally good condition, some problems with sliders (fogged) and screens (jammed). Great starting off point for seeing the area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers.
Owner response: All three sliding glass doors were replaced at the end of 2010. The house was built in the 1950's and some of the windows have crank handles, which are original, and should be used gently.

We only rent by the week or month.
Our rentals are handled through LS Robinson Company in Southwest Harbor, Maine. They will handle contracts and payments.
Additional Fees and Taxes:
6/2-6/30/13 - $1175/week; 6/30-9/1/13 - $1325/week; 9/1-10/6/13 - 1200/week; 10/6-111/3/13 - $1000/week; plus 7% Maine sales tax and $200 refundable security deposit.
