we spent the weekend in October at Tranquility Cove and it was much better than going to any spa or therapy session! Cheaper too! From the moment we drove up to the house, we were overcome by a sense of peace and were welcomed by a group of deer eating peacefully in the yard. The home is well appointed, excellent views and very comfortable. Nearby vineyards made the trip. This home is great for reunions, get aways for thte girls, second honeymoons or for self renewal. Believe me you WILL be back to this little piece of heaven

With trying to plan a get away for a close group of girlfriends we came across this property. What a great find! For the 7 of us it was perfect! The kitchen was well stocked for the breakfast & dinners we prepared there. The view of the lake is beautiful from many locations on the property. It was perfect for our outings to the many towns nearby for shopping & sightseeing each day during our stay. John & Diane ~ you have a wonderful place @ Tranquility Cove!

As a family of fifteen, aging from 4 to 71 we found this a great vacation spot. The children caught plenty of small fish off the dock. The older ones found larger ones in the lake .A beautiful home with all the ameneties, including cable and wi-fi. The kids enjoyed the paddle boat and canoe and the adults appreciated the refrigerator on the dock. There were plenty of places to relax and just and take in the view. I would highly recommend this as a fun place. It was well l maintained and clean.

With 3 refrigerators, 2 stoves, plus a nice Weber gas grill, what more could a large family gathering ask for? Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, great open space on main floor, lots of counter space in the kitchens (yes, there are two of them), large decks with plenty of seating, nice dock area with more seating, nice lake, canoe and paddle boat, wireless internet that works great even outside ... I could go on, but you get the idea! The owners were great also - Diane was just a phone call or email away for any questions leading up to and during our visit. Thanks for the great stay!

A group of nine came to play Darkhorse, one of the ten best golf courses in California. There is one course in the gated development but Darkhorse is actually cheaper and a very beautiful course just a few miles away. The house is very nice with several rooms for people to gather, a huge deck and a nice dock area. We took the canoe out and decided this house was in the best location on the lake - very serene, quiet and seems private. One day it rained and we started the fireplace which made our afternoon of games and conversation very cozy. We slept in the master bedroom and loved waking up to a wall of windows looking at the lake. The house has some unique river rock showers which are beautiful. Our golf group goes somewhere every year but we all agreed we would love to come back here.
Owner response:Thanks for sharing the fun you folks had! We loved having you and glad we could help you make some more great memories with your friends. I love the sounds in the morning as well. Feel free to make plans for next year and give me a shout! -Diane

We had a group of ten women that gathered for a conference and stayed in this lakefront home. We all enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake and the large, open great room with the fireplace. A couple of us took a jog around the lake and were greeted by friendly visitors and residents. We also saw many deer roaming the grounds. We would definately reccommend this home to others. It's perfect for large groups.

Tranquility Cove was a wonderful place for our cousin retreat. The home is perfectly situated on the lake, it is beautiful! Although we were faced with quite a storm we still had a great time around the awesome stone fireplace and ended up cooking in a lot, it actually was fun. We would have liked to gone on the lake but due to the storm I guess we will have to save that for next time...:-).

My family and I so enjoyed our time at Tranquility Cove! The home was beautiful, comfortable, well-maintained, and just made you feel like you were truly on vacation. The views from the deck and patio were stunning. Our 13-yr old, who uses a manual wheelchair, was able to access the house comfortably, and was even able to go down to the lower patio and deck. We all had a great time relaxing on the deck or patio, playing on the lake with the canoe and paddle boat, going for early morning jogs and afternoon golf outings, and wrapping up the evenings with dinner cooked on the outdoor grill. Just a magical place!

This home is so wonderfully relaxing and peaceful. Waking up each morning to the lake with the ducks and the wildlife was amazing. It has a perfect set up for a large family, small group our couple get away. It was great having a large, well stocked kitchen, and an amazing outdoor deck to enjoy each meal from. The living room with the fireplace was perfect for relaxing in the evening with family. We loved the neighborhood and several of us took many jogs and bike rides each morning enjoying the beautiful lake view. There was great golf near by, as well as shopping, starbucks and restaurants to enjoy, yet it felt like hundreds of miles away which is what makes this location perfect for any vacation. The deck and dock area with the paddle boat, canoe and chairs on the deck was used all day soaking up the sun and wonderful view. I also personally enjoyed the master bathroom jacuzzi tub with the beautiful lake view. Soaking in that and relaxing in the evening was perfect. We can't wait to go back and enjoy another relaxing and peaceful time at this amazing home!! Thank you John and Diane :)

My girlfriends and I go away once a year, and we were lucky enough to find this great home! The house was right on the lake, had all the amenities, and was nicely furnished too. And it was big enough so that we each had our own room and bathroom--a big plus! The owner sent lots of helpful information and some tips on where to go and what to do in the area. We spent most of our time by the lake enjoying the sun but also found a really good restaurant in town--the Sierra Grill--that had great food! Would highly recommend this home!

It's difficult to find time and a place perfect for a family to get together, but we found it at this wonderful house on the lake. Spent a weekend here and wished we had planned on staying longer. The house is clean, open, comfortable and has something for everyone whether it is fishing, boating or just plain relaxing. Where else can we have fishing right at the back of the house where one can catch a pretty decent size Bass. It is by far one of our most memorable family get togethers ever. Definitely will want to come back very soon. Thank you Diane, for being so helpful in planning this wonderful trip. Your recommendation of Northridge Pizza and Steaks is spot on. You've made it so easy for us to make wonderful family vacation memories.
Owner response:Thanks so much Maddie for staying with us and sharing the fish stories that were true! They delight the kids- many get their first really big fish from fishing off this dock. Come on up again soon.

My family and I enjoyed the tranquility of this spacious house. It was the perfect house to rent for our wedding weekend. It is close to Auburn, the Ridge Golf Course, and Grassvalley. It provided the relaxing atmosphere we desperately needed. We looked forward to going back again soon.
Owner response:Thanks so much, Tim & Colleen ! You guys were a pleasure to work with. I hope you can get the gang back for a first anniversary celebration :) Your group was simply great and you are more than welcome anytime. All the best ! - Diane

Enthusiastically agree with all previous positive comments! We stayed a weekend while attending our niece's wedding at Winchester Country Club in Meadow Vista. It was so helpful to have 5 bathrooms while the Jr Bridesmaid and Ring Bearer and the rest of us as guests were dressing for the various events. The 25 min. drive to the wedding site was well worth it so we could all stay together for a little family reunion. The ability to spread out, each finding their own "space" and quiet rooms for the sleepyheads was very appreciated. We absolutely felt "at home" during our stay! Thank you Applers for making your home available, your helpful guidance, and your friendly communications.

For the past eleven years, our family gets together for an annual vacation and this house has been the best by far! Enough room for all (9 adults and 6 children), beautiful weather and fabulous lake front location. The kids occupied the downstairs suite while the adults relaxed upstairs. This awesome house has niches for tv watching, reading or napping. That is of course when we weren't swimming, canoeing or cruising in the paddleboat. The gated community gave an added sense of security and we enjoyed all the local ammenities. See you next year as we have already made our reservations!!
Owner response:Hi Tami- We are looking forward to seeing you very very soon!. We put in some new beach area sand and added some new chairs...all ready for you to do some relaxing and swimming! Best, Diane

We were so happy with our stay at this beautiful property at Lake of the Pines. I too grew up on a lake and knew how relaxing and enjoyable life on a lake could be. We were not diapppointed. Everything at this house is 6 star.I gathered my children and grandchildren there for our annual reunion. From the description we thought it was too good to be true but it is true. We found the house in beautiful conditon when we arrived. It was welcoming and immaculate. We especially liked the fact that the full, unobstructed view of the lake was available from so many vantage points inside and outside the house. Having the canoe and paddle boat availabe is a big plus. We liked having access to the community pool also. All the amentities(too many to mention) are A-1. From making the arrangements to collecting our deposit at the end, this is a first class operation. Thanks for making this such an exceptional place to vacation. We will be back next year!

I can't say enough good things about this beautiful lake house. It is so great that we've stayed there more than once. The house is large with lots of room to entertain and feed our group of 8. Roomy and comfortable bedrooms and enough bathrooms, unlike some places we've stayed. Incredible lake views are seen from the whole back of the house, including the huge deck, the 2 family rooms, master, one bedroom, and the kitchen. And because the house is nestled in a cove with a south-facing view, both sunrises and sunsets are magnificient. We loved the automatic fireplace. It's near the window overlooking the lake and makes a great place to sip morning coffee or evening drinks if you're there in the chilly weather. On our summer trip, coffee and drinks were always on the deck. :-) The more energetic of our group played tennis and golf or rode bikes. The more laid back enjoyed the lake, reading, and just relaxing in the quiet that we never have at our house in the city. The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with, too. And, so much to see and do nearby! Check out these: Nearby Nevada City and Grass Valley have an atmosphere of the old west mixed with wine bars, cappucinnos, and unique shopping. Over 20 wineries within short driving distance. On a sunny Fall afternoon, we wine-tasted our way through beautiful seasonal colors to several delightful wineries where friendly and attentive proprietors gave us generous samples. Quaint Old Town Auburn has lots of interesting shops and good restaurants. We liked Bootleggers Tavern and Grill. Our group sipped cocktails and beer at a charming, mahogany bar while waiting for a table -- great prime rib and other more eclectic dishes. The Apple Hill orchards area in Placerville is about an hour from the house. It makes a great day trip - - over 50 orchards featuring apple ciders/pasteries, rustic eateries, petting zoos, events, and many fun distractions for the kids (including a hog as big as a barn!) Skiing at Sugar Bowl an hour away. As you can probably tell, my family and I *really* enjoyed our visit to this great lake house. I highly recommend it.

We had a terrific stay and loved the house and area. The kids had so much fun - they rated the vacation a 10/10 and wanted to know when we could go back. They loved the lake and all the fishing. They must have caught at least 50 of these little 6-in. fish right off the dock which we threw back. What kind of fish are those? A HUGE black fish which may live under your dock came out and ate one of these other fish in one bite right off my son's line! He had just caught the fish and was reeling it in when it happened. It snapped the whole line off! (It sounds a bit like an urban legend....) So the rest of the vacation we were looking for "Big Black"! The paddle boats and canoe were a huge hit too. It was so fun to get out on the lake. We also went over to the pool at the clubhouse and the beach there one day. It was really all fantastic. You have your house set up so nicely and comfortably. We had everything we needed. Even the neighbors were very friendly. Oh, lastly - the piano. The kids LOVED that! With the simple instruction book, we were all able to play and now my oldest wants to start lessons.

Diane, This is a tranquil setting - an apropos name (Tranquility Cove). We've enjoyed the view - coffee in the morning on the deck and cocktails in the evening on the pier. We purchased some fishing gear and the young ones were delighted with their catches. The paddleboat and canoe were also high on their favorite list. We all made good use of the tennis courts and golf course.
