Welcome to Casa Whitecaps!
A three-story house, Whitecaps is built tall for panoramic views of Culebra and the Luis Pena Cay from the dining deck on the second floor, and the balcony on the third. Inside, Whitecaps boasts equally incredible views of the Caribbean archipelago, vaulted ceilings, and fills with the circulating Trade Winds. And no need to worry about catching a few “Zs” . . . just let the stress wash away with the rhythmic sounds of the lapping surf . . . .
On Santa Maria Playa (beach) – just steps from your front door – you’ll find magnificent views to St. Thomas, Culebra, El Yunque Rainforest, and Puerto Rico. While public, access can only be gained through the private entrances of the ten or so homes that line the secluded beach.
A few blocks down the eastern shoreline you'll find a protected mangrove-flanked laguna and bird sanctuary frequented by wild Pasa Fino horses, iguanas, egrets and pelicans. Down the western shore, there's a great white sand swimming area next to the black boulder field that reaches out into the sea. Santa Maria beach is also great for shelling, sunning, reading and body boarding. Straight out from our beach entrance gate, there are even some great white sand dipping pools that pave the trail to a nice snorkle-worthy coral reef!
Also, the Casa Whitecaps first level apartment will soon be complete! The apartment is fully furnished with a king bed, views the pool, and has a private tiled bath. While the apartment does not directly access the main house, when included it transforms the home into a four bedroom, three bath rental for larger groups. The apartment will never be rented to a third-party separate from the house. Any questions, just ask us!
There are a limited number of private beachfront homes in Vieques on the north shore; and we're not aware of even one of the east, south or western shores. Even fewer of these homes have private pools. Accordingly, “Whitecaps” is one of the most heavily rented vacation homes on the Island.

Note: The availability calendar on this site only reflects open and closed dates for “Casa Whitecaps,” but the two neighboring properties (formerly “Pelican Beach Villas I and II” can also be reserved). The three homes will sleep 18-22, and are an ideal location for reunions, weddings and retreats.

“The Frankfort Reunion” The Villas were a perfect place for friends and family to retreat. We had a great time, and the weather was perfect! Secret Beach had great waves! Gringo Beach was great to spend a day at with everyone! The Biobay is a must! Roy’s Café was a great quick spot for breakfast. We saw a couple sting rays on Green Beach. We had a wonderful time and will be back! Thanks for making our stay AMAZING! (August, 2007)

“From the Entire Dean Crew” We all loved our stay here! The Villas were a great place to continue our Caribbean tradition! Cindy and Judd, newlyweds, enjoyed spending their honeymoon here. We highly recommend the Biobay tour! We loved the pool and spent a lot of our time in it! The food all over the Island is also very good. We especially liked Media Luna and Tradewinds. Vieques is a great Island! There are some cute little shops and boutiques, and lots of adventures to be had. We spend countless hours on the many beaches - they are all very pretty, and most have great snorkeling. “Quick Hitters!” Thanks so much for your hospitality. The place was great! We had wonderful times just relaxing and hanging out! Vieques is a beautiful island and we enjoyed exploring all the beaches. Blue beach was our favorite. The house was great we enjoyed everything about it. Thanks again for letting us share your beautiful home and place in Paradise! WOW! This week has just flown by so fast, we can’t believe it! Vieques was a wonderful place with so much to see and do. But each day we loved returning to this fantastic villa. We’re very grateful that we found you on the internet. Weather was perfect, Red Beach is highly recommended, with a picture postcard view every time we looked up from our books. Green Beach is great for snorkeling- worth the trip. Al’s Blue Azul in town is great for sunsets and good people. Gracias for a wonderful time and a great place. We’ve had a wonderful 5 days here. Your Villa was perfect for our family of 6 (husband, myself, 4 kids). Caretakers met us at the ferry and introduced us to your place. Spent our days discovering the beaches and snorkeling! Sun bay, Green Beach, Navio and Red Beach. Out to dinner each night except one when we grilled a delicious Captain Fish. Tonight we go on the Biobay kayak tour. The breezes have been refreshingly constant, weather beautiful, and so great to be near the ocean again . . . this time in a new wonderful place for us. Thank you! We just loved Vieques. The property is lovely and the location on the water gives those wonderful breezes! Having the entire place to ourselves was a nice extra, but the whole experience of the Island was just wonderful. Weather was great! The sun and the beaches are spectacular. The island people are friendly and the unspoiled nature of the Island is such a nice change. You have stocked the place very thoroughly. Everything you could want there and having some food supplies set in for guests was a very welcome thought. In short we just loved the whole experience!

“40 Year Celebration” Twelve friends from New York to New Orleans gathered here to celebrate the 40th birthdays of more than half our party. We loved the Villa’s porch and used the TV for karaoke only! We enjoyed Mosquito Pier for snorkeling; l-o-v-e-d Blue Beach; and l-o-v-e-d Playa Plata for the shade trees and great snorkeling. We came to Vieques to commune together because it is a monumental time in our lives. An island off an island has provided a perfect venue . . . and the Villa, perfect housing! (July, 2007)

All of the amenities: from the kitchen, to the very comfortable beds, to the towels, and even the pack-and-play for my 16-month-old baby. “Ride the Pasofinos!” This was a perfect set-up for the Milton family gathering - 20 strong! We had two birthday parties, barbeques, and gourmet paella, bananas foster, and Caribbean lobster cooked by our newly graduated family chef. Many pina colades, rum, passion fruit juices, and wines too. My personal favorite was galloping on pasofino horses up in the hills east of the “Castle” (the old Spanish lighthouse). The Villas are steps from the Equine Center on Pelican Beach. Some were rescue horses. They are little and delicate looking but surprisingly strong and spirited. A great way to see some remarkable views! (January, 2006)
