Unique 2-level suite in a great central location. Note: Currently booked now THROUGH Thanksgiving. Please check the availability calendar below. During Mardi Gras season we have a 7-night minimum.

This is a rear apartment in a 100-yr. old classic New Orleans-style house. Downstairs is the sitting room and a newly redecorated romantic bath with clawfoot tub (bubble bath included!). Double French doors open onto a small deck that looks out on a landscaped tropical courtyard. The large bedroom is upstairs, with high ceilings, a private balcony, and antique furnishings, plus another TV/DVD. This arrangement means one of you can sleep while the other makes coffee, showers or watches TV downstairs.

The sitting room is charmingly furnished with antiques and a hand-painted faux-tile floor. Basic kitchen supplies plus wine glasses and bottled water will be provided. There is no separate kitchen but we've created an "armoire kitchen" with a sink, cooktop, and microwave, plus dishes and wine glasses.

A flat-screen TV with cable will keep you amused and informed during your stay, while the mini fridge (with extra-large freezer), microwave, coffee maker, toaster-oven and blender will provide all the basics for snacking and late-night frozen concoctions.

Washer & dryer are just off the bathroom. Free off-street parking inside an automatic gate is available. A small neighborhood grocery is just steps away, where you can obtain fresh items for breakfast and light meals as well as prepared take-out food. CC's coffee shop is 3.5 blocks away on Esplanade Ave.

***Champagne and Roses Sweetheart Special!*** If your visit will include a marriage proposal, an anniversary, or any important romantic event, we will set up the upstairs bedroom with champagne on ice in a silver bucket, rose petals artfully strewn about the bedding, and dozens of candles twinkling around the room in time for your arrival. Fee for this service: $50 plus the champagne (you designate the label).

  • My stay this year during jazz fest was the lovely ursuline suite. The location is so convenient...no more than 3 miles to most restaurants and music venues...in a lovely neighborhood. The place is wonderful...high ceilings make it seem even more spacious. Everything you need to prepare simple meals or warm up leftovers....all modern conveniences...wi-fi and satellite tv...the lovely and private back courtyard........the washer and dryer so you don't take home a suitcase full of dirty clothes. This was my first visit...but definitely not my last.....I would recommend it to all my friends who visit new orleans but since we tend to come at the same times, I'll keep it to myself. Treat yourself to this amazing place the next time you visit new orleans...and you'll become a confirmed fan as well. Also, your host, Cynthia and her daughter Kerry are willing to help you make your visit a more memorable one.

  • My friend and I stayed at this wonderful apartment for one week, earlier this month. I can honestly say that this is one of the loveliest vacation rentals I've ever been fortunate to stay in. It was beautifully and tastefully decorated and had every possible amenity, including lovely bath products! The bathroom has inspired my travel companion to change her plans for her upcoming bathroom renos (it is that cute). The courtyard is a peaceful and relaxing retreat from the excitement of New Orleans, full of tropical plants, chirping birds and even the ocassional tiny green lizard. The burbling fountain and flowers charm and nurture. There is not one discouraging word I have to say about this property and its warm, welcoming owner. Don't miss out!

  • My wife and I had a wonderful stay in the Ursuline Suite and we think about it and about New Orleans often. The apartment and its neighbourhood views, balconies and courtyard are charming, and we really felt at home there. It is simply and beautifully decorated, and the whole experience there was wonderful. We loved the neighbourhood, its lovely architecture and people, and particularly enjoyed the short walk across to the cafés, restaurants and parks nearby on Esplanade Ave – not to mention the local flavour of the nearly-next-door grocery store, its proprietors, locals and its unmissable shrimp Po Boys! We highly recommend booking a stay at the Ursuline Suite for a genuine taste of New Orleans. Its charm, comfort, location, great price (not to mention Cynthia, our friendly and helpful proprietor) helped to make our holiday in New Orleans even lovelier.   • I highly recommend staying at this guest house. The owners are sweet and anticipated any need I might have had. The accommodations are extremely comfortable, charming and welcoming. I can't wait to return to the relaxation of sitting in the courtyard with the smell of gardenias in the air!

  • We stayed here for a Jazz Fest weekend and it was just perfect. We felt so at home and comfortable, it was SO much better than staying in a hotel. There were books on New Orleans to read and maps to local restaurants and bars, just above and beyond any hotel - there was really a personal touch. The house is charming and beautifully decorated! There were two couples in our party - we stayed there comfortably and we had our privacy. Whenever we go back to New Orleans this is our place of choice, I can't recommend it enough!

  • My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had peace and quiet in a private residence which exceeded our expectations. The hostess made sure all our needs were met without asking. The suite was immaculate and everything we needed was there with many thoughtful extras provided by the owner. This place had true southern charm. The private garden court in the back was a beautiful spot to sip our morning coffee in a tranquil setting. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and would definitely return here again.
