This wonderful 1960’s cabin at Lake Wentworth on Fernald’s Basin only two miles from downtown Wolfeboro is a perfect family getaway. Look out the kitchen onto the basin and Lake Wentworth and across to Copple Crown Mountain. Step out the door onto one acre of privacy and 200 feet of water frontage. Head out onto the dock to fish, take in the sights or enjoy a cool drink. All of it is just outside your door.
You can also step out along the old Maine / Boston Rail Road which is now a walking and biking trail into down town Wolfeboro to enjoy all it has to offer. Nearby museums also offer a wonderful learning experience. You can enjoy many local beaches or a new athletic field and playground and always take in the many shops and restaurants.

we were a bit disappointed, not by the cabin itself, which was accurately described and which we looked at prior to our week. we were disappointed that we were not told about leeches in the pond and that the cabin was not very clean when we arrived. I think if I owned a cabin and rented it out, I would take the time to vacuum, sweep away cobwebs, clean the tables (the table runner in the kitchen actually had food on it...). Also, there was indeed a VCR and DVD player, but the TV connected to the VCR player is on its last legs. We enjoyed the proximity to Albee Beach and we enjoyed hearing loons and watching what might have been an otter frolicking in the pond, and we enjoyed kayaking over the quiet waters. The kitchen and the unscreened deck have the best views of the lake, which you cannot see from the living room.
