Sparrow Cottage--- A delightful 1 -1/2 story house 1 mile north of Vineyard Haven center. Often chosen for honeymoons and anniversaries. Best for independent travelers who enjoy the privacy and convenience of staying in your own small house.
Located 2 doors down from the "Thorncroft Inn" and a few blocks (3/10 mile) to a small public beach next to the Vineyard Haven Yacht Club. West Chop is an older area of estates, stone walls, shady streets, large summer homes, rhododendrons, Mink Meadows golf club.
Cottage style furniture in blue & white nautical decor. Open area first floor has dining table and chairs, living room, full kitchen, pantry, bathroom with tub/shower. A child or another person can sleep downstairs on a single bed tucked into an alcove.
Upstairs is an airy open bedroom with white walls, white Queen spool bed, closet, Victorian bureau, lace curtains.
Small yard in rear with table & Adirondack chairs, storage shed for bikes, grill. Parking for 2 cars.
On public bus route: 1, 3, 5-day passes may be bought for inexpensive exploration on all routes all over the island.
Good location for bikes, walking, jogging. Walk to public library for computer/internet use or WI-FI access. Walk or bike 1 mi. to Vineyard Haven Center for restaurants, cinema, shopping, banks, sightseeing buses, harbor, ferry terminal, 'Black Dog' general store and tavern, 'Bunch of Grapes' bookstore, Bike or walk scenic 1 mile to West Chop lighthouse.
Flexible weeks can begin and end on any day of the week.
