Just a few minutes drive to Sarlat, Domme and the Dordogne valley.
Description
"Les Tournesols" provides an excellent home-from-home experience in which to enjoy all that this wonderful area of France has to offer. Its comfortable, contemporary and well equipped interior is complimented by its spacious grounds with private pool, in probably the most picturesque part of the Dordogne valley. 5km south of Sarlat.
It provides holiday accommodation for up to 8 people with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and very generous living areas.
The large pool has paved terraces for sunbathing and there is a south facing dining terrace adjacent to the BBQ, dining room and sitting room.There is table tennis and badminton for your added enjoyment. Private parking for up to 3 cars.
Sitting room: This spacious room has original oak beams and exposed stone walls. There is comfortable seating arranged around a large stone fireplace with log burning stove.one couch converts into a comfortable 140cm double bed. French doors open onto the south facing dining terrace.There is a TV with satellite channels, a DVD player and music system. There is a selection of books and games for adults and children.
Kitchen/Dining room: The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable. There is a large fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine,electric fan oven and ceramic hob, microwave, coffee maker, toaster etc. The free standing island unit provides extra storage and work surface.The dining area has a table that seats up to 8 people and opens directly onto the sunny dining terrace and garden/pool area.
Bedrooms: Bedroom 1, a double room with 160cm bed, is located on the ground floor and benefits from its own en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2 is another double room with 160cm bed, is located on the first floor. Bedroom 3, a twin room with 2 standard 90cm beds, is also on the first floor. Both are adjacent to the shower room. All bedrooms are comfortably furnished with wardrobe and storage facilities and the beds are made up with crisp linen on your arrival.
Bathrooms: On the ground floor there is an en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, wash basin and w. There is a shower room with spacious shower unit, wash basin and wc on the first floor. A hairdryer is supplied for your convenience, and all bathrooms are supplied with towels (bath and hand ) and floor mats. There is an independent wc with wash basin on the ground floor.
Garden/Outside: The garden, laid out in lawns with flowering shrubs and shade-providing trees surrounds the house and terraces giving good privacy. There is a table tennis table and badminton with all equipment supplied.The secluded, south-facing patio has a barbeque, dining table and chairs.
Swimming pool: The rectangular pool is 8m x 4m with roman steps at the shallow end for easy access and is 1.8m deep at the deep end. It is for the exclusive use of the guests at "Les Tournesols" and is totally private. It is completely covered by a regulation securitybarrier for the safety of small children. The large paved patio has parasols and furniture for sunbathing and relaxing.
Local Surroundings: Situated in the heart of the Perigord Noir, the area has a wealth of pre-history in the many hand-painted caves ( at Lascaux and Les Eyzies), Medieval towns well worth a visit ( Domme, La Roque Gageac, Beynac), lots of chateaux and gardens to explore, all nestling in the beautiful countryside through which the Dordogne river gently meanders.
Sarlat, it’s capital (just 6km from the property) is the jewel in the crown with it’s medieval centre, architectural heritage, famous Saturday market and the unique atmosphere provided by it’s street theatre in Summer.
The Dordogne river with small sandy beaches and canoe hire, swimming and fishing is a few minutes walk away.
The village of Vitrac Port is a short walk away and has good restaurants and a ricver-side bar-café with excellent views.
In the immediate vicinity there are opportunities for walking, hiking, horse riding, cycling, golf, canoeing, and lots more!
Facilities: Bed linen and towels (as well as pool towels), included in the price, are changed weekly.

Travel Information:
By air : Sarlat is just an hours drive from Bergerac airport. Bordeaux, Toulouse, Limoges & Rodez airports are a two hour drive away. All major car hire companies operate from these airports and Europcar / Rentacar have offices in Sarlat.
By rail : Sarlat is connected to Bordeaux and Bergerac by a direct rail link and to Paris and Toulouse via Souillac ( half an hours drive).
By road : From Paris, Limoges and Toulouse, leave the A20 motorway at exit 55 and proceed to Sarlat.
From Bordeaux take the A89 motorway to exit 16 ( Perigueux Est ) and proceed to Sarlat via Les Eyzies.
From Bergerac follow the signs for Sarlat.
