Nice property but poor property management
Nice property but poor property management

Overall we enjoyed our stay and the property was nice. Good location and the pool in the complex is really picturesque. The biggest drawback was the management company. They were totally disorganized. They were personable and tried to fix things they kept on coming up short. Our story: We arrived to find the garage code and lock box codes did not work. After we got access to the property, we found it hadn't been cleaned after the last guests ( dirty sheets and kitchen etc). They offered us alternative accommodations but it was an hour away and we have a baby who needed to sleep. So we washed the sheets and towels and swept the sand off the floor ourselves. They sent a cleaner the next day. There were other little things: the filtered water didn't work, the bath mat in the guest washroom was growing mold and stank and it took them 2 days to figure out the garage code. To compensate we asked for a late check out. They said yes but later retracted and offered to let us spend the day in Kona. They also promised us a gift certificate that never materialized. The place in Kona was nice (managed by the same company) but they gave us keys that did not work to access the pool or the pedestrian gate and there were shards of ceramic in the carpet that we found while crawling around with our baby. The beach club was nice and the shoreline within walking distance. The place itself worked well for us but might be a bit small if there are more than 4 people in your party. I would recommend this place for families though I suggest the owners look at the property management's record. I would also note that we did not receive even a partial refund even though we had to was our own sheets!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We stayed here for 8 nights in November. The location is ideal ... close to the Foodland Market and restaurants, beaches, walking trails. Very quiet and private. Well furnished andvery clean. Used the kitchen and outdoor grill almost every night. The lanai overlooks the Nature Preserve. Access to the Beach Club was a real plus ... great beach facilities and excellent restuarant. The fish ponds at Mauna Lani are a wonderful place to walk and relax. Looking forward to a return visit!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank you Carol for your review and we look forward to your return! :)
